Comprehensive background

Warhammer 40K's worldview is set on the Milky Way, built on a gothic science fiction setting. The most popular core element of the Pen & Fun &www.biquge.info game is the Space Marine, a futuristic version of a fantasy knight, an elite warrior in a ruined and declining transgalactic human empire.

Since it was originally created as a sci-fi spin-off of the Warhammer game, the worldview of Warhammer 40K contains many elements of the fantasy genre, such as magic

Warhammer 40,000

Warhammer 40,000 (3 photos)

and a variant of the classic fantasy race. In the process of expanding the setting, its inspiration includes classic and modern sci-fi, fantasy and horror films and TV series; Notable writers of genres such as Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Howard Philip Lovecraft, Mike Mulcock, John Ronald Riel Tolkien, Robert Anson Heinlein (in particular, many elements of the game were influenced by Heinlein's novel Starship Paratroopers, such as marines in power armor who came in an airborne capsule, and orbital bombardment falling from the sky, among others.) ); medieval, baroque and surrealist art (especially Hans-Rudolf Giger, designer of the film Alien); Favorite descriptions of historical backgrounds, such as the two world wars, Victorian Britain, the Roman Empire, the Inquisition, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, etc.

The result is that history is often measured in thousands or even 10,000 years, and the battle nuns in the medieval Gothic style are active in the grand and bleak background; the Chaos Legion, deeply influenced by the post-war Western apocalyptic scenario; Greenskin, imbued with the influence of Afro-North American hip-hop and street culture; It is like the spirit clan projected by the elegant elves in the fantasy setting in the future; The Imperial Guard, loved by military fans and fans of World War I history; There are also the Tyranid Zerg, which pays homage to the aliens, the Titanium Empire full of oriental colors, and the space necromancer in the robot style.

This mixture has resulted in this fictional galaxy becoming completely separate beings, each of which is evil, at best differing in degree. For example, the human empire is often considered to be on the side of "justice", and although there are many good people within it, as a whole, it is a reckless and corrupt **** empire. On the other hand, it's better to work all day to assemble a rifle than to work all day and then get killed by an alien.

Empire Timeline

The fictional history in this work is roughly divided into the following four eras according to the chronology of mankind.

Age of Terra

1,000-15,000 years

Humans rule the planet. Civilization replacement. Colonies have been established within the solar system. Humans have inhabited Mars, as well as the moons of the planets Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune.

The age of technology

Fifteenth to eighteenth millennium

Humans began to colonize the stars using sub-light spaceships. Initially only accessible to neighboring galaxies, the new colony was separated from Earth after a journey of ten generations, and it was necessary to fend for itself.

Eighteenth millennium to twenty-second millennium

The invention of the subspace (WARP) drive device accelerated the pace of colonizing the galaxy. Confederations and empires are numerous. The first contact with aliens, the first outbreak of alien wars. For the first time, science has proved the existence of psykers in humans. Psykers began to appear everywhere in the human world.

Twenty-second millennium to twenty-fifth millennium

The birth of the first Navigator allowed human spacecraft to make faster and farther subspace jumps. Science and technology have accelerated progress, and mankind has entered a golden age of enlightenment. The human world has been unified and has signed non-aggression pacts with dozens of alien races.

The Age of Strife

Twenty-fifth to twenty-sixth millennium

A terrifying subspace storm cut off interstellar travel. Storms occur sporadically in the beginning, but eventually hinder all subspace jumps. The rate of mutation in humans has skyrocketed. Humanity has entered a dark age of chaos and despair.

Twentieth millennium to thirtieth millennium

The human world has been torn apart by civil wars, rebellions, and alien raids and invasions. Some worlds were dominated by human psionics and other mutants, and then quickly became a feast for subspace creatures. Humanity is on the verge of destruction.

Age of Empires

Since the thirtieth millennium

Earth is unified by the Emperor, and it is allied with the Mechanics of Mars. The subspace storm has finally weakened, and interstellar travel is once again possible. The Emperor built the Astronomican and created twenty legions of Space Marines. In the Great Crusade, which lasted for more than two hundred years, the human world was reunited by the Emperor.

However, the most favored commander of the original Legion created by the Emperor, Horus, was seduced by the Chaos Gods and persuaded half of his brothers to betray the Emperor. The battle between the two giants shook the foundations of the empire and forced former friends and relatives to pit each other, in a rebellion known as the Horus Heresy (HorusHeresy). In the seventh year of the rebellion, Horus fought a duel with the Emperor during an attack on the Earth Palace, and he was defeated and killed, but the Emperor was also seriously wounded.

The rebellion of Horos caused immeasurable damage to the empire. The Emperor was moved into the Static Arena of the Golden Throne so that he could maintain a glimmer of life. His spirit is only enough to sustain the Torch of the Stars, and he can no longer rule the entire empire himself. Although the rebels retreated into a subspace rift known as the Eye of Terror, it took hundreds of years for the Empire to quell the aftermath of the rebellion. The legions that remained loyal were divided into small "warbands" to prevent a repeat of the mistakes of the past. [1]

Thousands of years later, humanity continues to follow a dark path. The loyal primordials are long dead or missing, and the future of humanity lies in the hands of the bureaucrats and state religions who run the empire in the name of the emperor. The Emperor's Golden Throne required the sacrifice of the souls of a thousand psionics every day, turning the technology that had guided humanity to glory into a superstitious idol. The power of chaos is everywhere, the alien race is accompanied by endless threats, and the soulless Zerg are trying to devour the entire galaxy.

The Empire of Mankind

The Imperium of Man

Dominates the vast majority of humanity in the galaxy. The founders and rulers of empires are godlike emperors. He is the most powerful human psyker of all time, having started the empire ten thousand years ago and continues to lead it, at least nominally.

The armies of the Human Empire mainly include:

Imperial Guard

Also known as the Imperial Defense Force, it includes many corps, political commissars, storm troopers, subhuman auxiliary forces, etc., and is the largest army in the galaxy of Warhammer 40,000. [2] Its tens of billions of soldiers have sworn to serve the Emperor, a ruthless organization of flesh, tanks, and guns who will never stop defending the Empire. These brave and fearless soldiers are just ordinary mortals, relying only on their weapons and blood to stop the invasion and turn the tide of battle.

Notable units include:

MilitarumTempestus

Cadian ShockTroopers

CatachanJungleFighters

Armageddon Steel Legion

Mordian Iron Guard

DeathKorpsofKrieg

ElysianDropTroops

Ultramarine

The greatest of humanity's defenders is the astral marines of the Order of Astarte, superhuman warriors forged by ancient and mysterious technology, who have ensured humanity's survival with their courage and prowess. Despite being less than a million people and scattered across the galaxy, they still represent the greatest hope for human civilization.

Notable warbands include:

DarkAngels original First Legion, genetically based by Lion El'Jonson

WhiteScars (WhiteScars) formerly of the 5th Legion, genetically based on Jaghatai Khan

SpaceWolves (SpaceWolves) formerly of the Sixth Legion, genetically based on Leman Russ

Inquisitor Eisenhorn Game Trailer

Inquisitor Eisenhorn Game Trailer

Inquisition

The authority of the Inquisition comes from the Emperor himself, and the inquisitors of it pursue the mission of perpetuating humanity in the way they see fit. The threat posed to the Empire by demons, aliens, and heretics has never gone away, and the three main orders dedicated to fighting them have existed. They have their own direct forces and are constantly guarding humanity.

The OrdoMalleus, also known as the Demon Hunters, is under the jurisdiction of the Gray Knights.

The Inquisition (OrdoHereticus), also known as the Witch Hunters, has over the Sisters of War (Adepta Sororitas).

OrdoXenos, also known as the Alien Hunter, has Deathwatch.

OfficioAssassinorum

When it comes to countering internal and external threats, the Empire's most feared weapon is the Assassination Bureau. Quiet and deadly, ruthless and efficient, the Imperial Assassins in charge of it can raid the heart of a problem area and quickly and completely wipe out the Emperor's enemies. The Assassins were divided into several different factions of the Temple, ranging from the shapeshifters of the Temple of Calitus to the psionic hunters of the Temple of Chulisas, each specializing in their own unique methods of killing.

Imperial Assassins

Adeptus Mechanicus

Marauder Titans

Marauder Titans

Originating from Mars, the superstitious mechanical god of the Mechanics religion, the God of All Machines, monopolizes the vast majority of the Empire's science and technology and ancient knowledge. Under a treaty with the Emperor, the Mechanical Priests were responsible for manufacturing almost all of the Empire's mechanical products, from rifles to starships.

The Mechanics maintain a formidable army, including the Titans, a giant humanoid weapon, a half-human, half-machine cathar, a fleet forged with mysterious ancient technology, and more.

In addition to protecting the Mechanics' fiefdoms, the Forge World, and expeditionary fleets that sailed in search of the legacy of their ancestors, the Mecha's armies often assisted other Imperial forces in their battles.

The CollegiaTitanica is home to a number of Titan Legions.

Skitarii, also known as the TechGuard.

Imperial Knights

Tens of thousands of years before the rise of the Empire, knights in powerful mechs have been dedicated to protecting the many human colonies. Over the millennia, they have built a rich culture of nobles who have sworn to defend their homeland, the world, and their allegiance to the golden throne of Earth and the Mechonia of Mars.

Legal Department (AdeptusArbites)

The Ministry of Justice, under the direct jurisdiction of Earth, has been tasked with enforcing the laws of the Empire in the major worlds. They are both law enforcers and judges and juries.

abnormity

There are many non-human intelligent beings in the galaxy, and they are vying with other races for supremacy. In the eyes of the Human Empire, they are all enemies that must be eliminated, collectively known as Xenos.

The Alien Army mainly includes:

Eldar

The world of the Elven Ark floated beyond the earth, lost in the infinite universe, and their original home world was destroyed in the fall that brought their civilization to collapse. They are highly advanced and deadly, similar in body structure to humans, but have the mind of an alien like Oak. While their race is slowly moving towards death, their prophets are still looking at the many tributaries of fate in order to find hope in stopping chaos and saving their race from extinction. When an elven army goes to war, it will be up to these revered prophets to determine whether something should be protected, moved, or destroyed. Their attacks are fierce and without warning, and they have neither mercy nor mercy, for without their actions the universe would have been destroyed.

DarkEldar

The Dark Elves are the race that condenses all the cruelty and malice of this galaxy. The world they inhabit is a plane ruled by pure terror. In this way, they lurk in the unreal universe that is not affected by time, and from time to time they attack the real universe, waiting for an opportunity to loot as far as they can see. Of the countless enemies that have been at war with humanity in the forty-first millennium, the Dark Elves are the most feared by humanity. They would take their captives back to the dim capital where they lived to enslave. In some sense, this was a more tragic fate than falling into a chaotic hell, because the slaves were destined to die a miserable death after suffering untold suffering.

Ork

Orcs are scattered throughout the galaxy, and this vast race is made up of a horde of green-skinned butchers dedicated to destroying every creature and everything they come across. But they are not acting in a morbid hatred against any organization, nor are they driven by some horrible and vicious deity. Instead, Oak fights for the sheer pleasure of war, indulging in the slaughter and thrill of battle, and rejoicing in the roar of guns and the bloody fighting of white-knuckle combat.

Titanium Empire (Tau)

The Titanium Empire, which occupies a space near the eastern borders of the Human Empire, is a young and active race with highly developed weapons and technology. Their empire is underpinned by the notion that individuals should put aside their own desires and work together for the highest interests of the Titanium Empire as a whole. Despite the lack of overt hostility, the Titan Empire's territorial expansion has brought them into conflict with humans and other alien races.

Necrons

The Ancient Race of Deathphores possess incredible advanced technology, but they are still unable to extend their short lifespan. The Star Gods, with their near-infinite powers, tricked them into replacing their fragile flesh with immortal living metal, but lost their souls forever at the price. The Star God eventually reaped the consequences, being shattered to pieces by the newborn Space Necrons. Afterwards, the devastated Necrons entered the Stagnant Tomb to escape the pursuit of their archrivals. Sixty million years later, this ancient mechanical race has awakened from their eternal sleep. Their goal is to reclaim the entire galaxy that once belonged to them. Nothing can stop them, and they will be a scourge to any race brave enough or stupid enough to stop them.

Tyranids

The Tyranids are the most heterogeneous alien race that humanity has ever encountered. Zerg do not crave territory, power, domination, wealth, or revenge. Their sole purpose is to devour all the life mass in order to satisfy an appetite that can never be satisfied. The most terrifying thing is their ability to carry out this seemingly impossible plan in a frighteningly efficient way. Zerg tactics vary from overwhelming enemy forces with large swarms of small creatures, engaging them with swift and deadly hunters, or crushing resistance with behemoths, all three.

chaos

The negative feelings of living beings in subspace create Chaos. In the thirty-first millennium of the Holuth Rebellion, the Chaos Gods corrupted half of the Space Marine Legion, plunging the Empire into a devastating civil war. In the end, the empire defeated the traitors, but also at great cost.

The forces of chaos still erode the empire to this day. The cunning whispers of the dark gods have led many to betray the Emperor and his people, and the rebellious remnants of the Star Marines lurk in the eyes of fear, waiting for an opportunity to launch a "Black Crusade" against Earth.

The armies of Chaos include:

ChaosDaemons

In the realm of chaos, unconstrained by space and time, the gods of chaos gaze upon the universe with their ancient, hungry eyes. And the Chaos Demons, formed by humanity's most terrible nightmares, are deadly servants of the four Chaos Lords. Under the command of gigantic high-ranking demons, these warlike incarnations of the will of the gods were sent to the mortal world. Demons are the embodiment of destruction, and the sole purpose of their existence is to crush all civilizations. Everywhere the demons of chaos went, heresy abounded, reason collapsed, and unspeakable slaughter descended on the real universe. The demonic armies are twisted by the dark desires of the Chaos Gods, driven only by the desire to destroy. Among them, the demon of Slaanesh is swift and agile, the demon of terror is fierce, the demon of Nurgle is tough, and the demon of Tzeentch is good at magic.

ChaosSpaceMarines

The Chaos Space Marines were once humanity's ultimate warriors, loyal to the Emperor and fighting to defend the human empire. But since swearing allegiance to the dark gods, in exchange for supreme power and immortality, they have burned their war against the stars for whom they had fought. Although those noble ideas and goals are gone, their superhuman bodies and combat skills have never been lost, which has led them to degenerate into insane killers. The armies of the Chaos Space Marines come in a variety of shapes, from the brightly armored Chaos Space Marines to the distorted Demon Princes and Enchanted Warriors.

The Lost and the Damned

The vast majority of mortals who fight for chaos are known as the Lost and the Damned. They are not a separate army, often forming countless warbands under the leadership of the Chaos Champions. Its members include twisted and crazy demonic inhabitants, brutal mutants, ferocious beastmen, wandering psykers, primitive tribesmen, pirates, rebels, and fallen clerics, among others. They wreak havoc in faraway worlds in exchange for the favor of their evil masters. [3]

Brief introduction

Warhammer 40K is a set of miniature war games with a strong gothic style, produced and published by the British game company GamesWorkshop (GW). The game was first published in 1987 and is now in its seventh edition and has been updated ever since, as well as a myriad of merchandise, including a variety of games, novels, comics, fanfiction, and more.

Warhammer 40K is based on the theme of endless war, and the imaginative military fantasy combined with the grand setting and dark and slaughtering world view has attracted fans from all over the world. After more than two decades of development and evolution, Warhammer 40K is no longer just a game, it has grown into a unique cultural trend.

Players will take on the role of a commander fighting in the name of the Emperor, an alien who has eaten away at the territory of the human empire, an evil heretic who has betrayed humanity, or a powerful and terrifying demon, and command his army to defeat the enemy and complete the mission.

The game mostly uses miniatures representing various soldiers and chariots, and follows established rules to perform wargame deduction by rolling the number of points of the dice. The game is won or lost depending on tactics and luck. [4]

Warhammer 40K adds elements of science fantasy to its sister Warhammer Fantasy, but the worlds of the two are very different, and there is no chronological sequence. In contrast, Warhammer 40K has the advantages of being able to form an army with a small number of models, freedom of movement, and advanced weapons.

gather

Each player needs to collect enough unit models to form their own army, which can be either a single force or a coalition of multiple forces as the rules allow.

Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition Rulebook Set

Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition Rulebook Set

The troop introduction and army building rules are basically included in the Warhammer 40K rulebook set (TheRules), as well as the "Codex" of the major factions. The rulebook provides the basic rules of the game, while the canonical details the faction's unique units and rules, both of which complement each other. Even within the same race, different factions will have their own sacred texts and extended rules.

The size of an army is measured by the score of its constituent units, and the score set by the rules somewhat reflects the potential value of a unit in a table war. The total score of a typical army is 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 1750, or 2000. Depending on the size of the army, the duration of a game can range from half an hour to several hours.

Warhammer 40K games usually use official GW "Citadel" brand miniatures, but players are not prohibited from modifying or making their own. The chassis size of infantry models is generally 25 mm (about 1:65), while models such as vehicles and aircraft are larger. There are three types of materials: resin, plastic, and metal. The resin model bears the "CitadelFinecast" trademark, but it has been criticized by players for its poor quality. Metals include lead-tin alloys and lead-free "white metals" (after 1997), which are mostly used in older models, which are relatively expensive and difficult to process.

The game is generally considered to be a pricey hobby. If a new player wants to build a reasonably sized army (around 1750 points), they will have to purchase a separate card model and a complete set of boxed squads to meet their needs, including the cost of the rule book and paint, which is expected to cost around 4000 RMB. At the same time, the official Battleforce package for most factions has also been introduced to facilitate the formation of small armies by novices.

In 2010, GW fully localized its Warhammer 40K starter kit, Assaulton BlackReach, in Chinese mainland and launched an official Chinese Simplified Chinese version. [5] In 2012, a follow-up Chinese version of DarkVengeance was released.

Livery

Golden Devil Award winners (22 photos)

The unpainted "Citadel" model is just a pile of off-white inorganic objects, and although it can be played against each other, the visual experience will be greatly reduced. Only by assembling and coloring with a variety of tools can you create a lifelike model and have an army of personalizations.

Almost all of the famous factions have official livery manuals that can be used as a reference. There are also many players who use their own emblems and color schemes. In various painting competitions, it is not uncommon to see enthusiasts modifying their models with finished gadgets (commonly known as Bitz) or other materials to make them more varied and colorful.

Terrain is also an important part of the game, and while GW provides official terrain templates, there are still many players who prefer to make their own. With enough time and technology, Coke cans, coffee cups or styrofoam can be made into buildings and ruins.

At GW's annual GamesDay, the GoldenDemon livery contest is a spotlight for Warhammer enthusiasts, bringing together the best skins from around the world.

War

War chess game

War chess game (7 photos)

Versus is one of the greatest joys of Warhammer 40K. In conventional combat, the score of a unilateral army is generally within 2,000 points; And in the "apocalypse" level of the big war, tens of thousands of troops are not uncommon. The game is played on a turn-based basis, with each player choosing a specific action to be taken for all of their units during the turn, then rolling the dice and determining the outcome of the action based on the number of points. At the beginning of each match, additional rules and mission objectives are set up, and players from all sides start a heart-wrenching battle based on such a "scenario". Some players plan a series of scenarios, called campaigns, in which multiple players face off against each other in multiple battles. These campaigns may have special rules and settings that are closely tied to them, and of course the storyline will follow the outcome of each battle.

Models, rulers, dice, covers, and various rule books are essential tools for the game. When playing against each other, the "what you see is what you get" principle is often followed, that is, the shape of the model, the weapon in hand, and the rules used by the player are exactly the same, which helps to improve the game experience and makes it easier to calculate the score. GW's HobbyCentres around the world and physical stores that sell Warhammer merchandise all over the world provide a place for players to fight, in addition to fan groups from all over the world also make appointments at board game stores. [6]

Version History

edit

Note: The general rules of the game are updated at intervals of several years, but the latest editions of the Tome of the various clans released prior to this will still apply.

First edition

Warhammer40K: RogueTrader, published in 1987, was the game's first core rulebook, designed by Rick Priestley. This original version contains a lot of detailed background settings that set the tone for later developments. Somewhere between role-playing and pure wargame, Ronin Merchant actively encourages the various forces to join forces, making it suitable for skirmishes. The name "Holy Scriptures" had not yet begun to be used during this period, but a series of books excerpted from the official magazine WhiteDwarf served a similar purpose.

Second Edition

Launched in 1993. The second edition of the General Rules includes the Core Rulebook and the other three canonical rulebooks. An expansion called DarkMillennium was released the following year, adding psionic rules to the game. Another advancement in this edition is the addition of "Special Characters", exclusive hero units with different stats and equipment. In the second edition of the era, a total of 10 "holy texts" have appeared detailing the background and rules of each faction, which are Ultramarine, Angel of Death, Space Wolf, Battle Nun, Imperial Guard, Chaos, Eldar, Ork, Tyranid, and Assassin.

Third Edition

Launched in 1998. The third edition takes an empire-centric point of view, the content becomes more concise and straightforward, and the canonical system is retained. The core rules are all contained in the rulebook, and the tomes contain the rules for each army individually. The seventeen tomes of this period include space necrons, titans, and the Inquisition's Demon Inquisition and Inquisition.

Fourth edition

Launched in 2004. The fourth edition broadly inherits the style and content of the previous edition. The Starter Pack Battle For Macragge is based on a one-case design concept based on the home planet of the Tyranid Invasion Ultramarines, "Makrag", and includes a simplified version of the rulebook, chess pieces, terrain, and other game paraphernalia.

Fifth Edition

Launched in 2008. The fifth edition is still compatible with the previous version, with only a few changes. This edition of the Starter Pack is AssaultonBlackReach, which is set in the Ultramarines' battle against the Orcs of Orcs. Some of the rules that were short-lived in the second edition have also been given a new lease of life.

Sixth Edition

Launched in 2012. The sixth edition adds many attributes and general rules, elevates the status of psionic energy in the game, increases the uncertainty of the battle situation through mysterious events and terrain, and greatly increases the balance, confrontation and fun of the whole game. Players have also increased their choice in armaments, with the sixth-updated race having exclusive artifacts, an army arsenal of optional equipment, exclusive vehicle equipment, army boss traits, and faction-specific rules and upgrades, such as the Chaos Mutation Table, Chaos Sign, race-specific psionic energy, and Space Marine Clan Strategy.

Seventh Edition

Seventh Edition Rulebook Set Cover

Seventh Edition Rulebook Set Cover

On May 24, 2014, the General Rules were officially upgraded to the seventh edition. The new rulebook set is divided into three volumes – AGalaxyofWar, which introduces models and liveries, DarkMillennium, which tells the background of the game, and TheRules, which is easy to carry. Troop formation is more free, with the addition of Psionic Phases and a variety of Tactical Objective Cards to add a variety of combat methods.

Updates and Extensions

From time to time, GW publishes new electronic rulebooks called "Dataslates", and gradually organizes old materials into e-books. All corratitaries, updates and supplementary explanations of the rule book are regularly published on the official website.

There are also two related magazines published by GW, namely White Dwarf and Warhammer: Visions. Founded in June 1977 and published monthly until January 2014, the English White Dwarf was republished as a weekly magazine in February of the same year, mainly publishing new product introductions, background rules, and production liveries. The bimonthly Warhammer: Visions magazine includes extensive model photos and concise captions, and the Asian edition includes Chinese, Japanese, and English Chinese.

In addition, GW's subordinate division ForgeWorld (FW) is responsible for developing and selling a small number of specially made resin models, such as Titans, Thunderhawk gunboats, Krieger Death Corps, and so on. These units may be subject to additional restrictions in the game, and their rules are recorded in FW's Imperial Armour books.

Chinese version

In the era of the fifth to sixth editions, GW has released official Chinese versions of the rulebook, including the simple rulebook in the Black Gorge Starter Pack, the retail sixth edition of the general rulebook, and the same edition of the Chaos Space Marine, Dark Angel, Space Marine, Spirit Clan, Tyranid Zerg and Imperial Knight Sacred Codex. No official Chinese books have been released since 2014, and players in Greater China mostly rely on folk translations or play directly in English.

Among the spin-offs of the Warhammer 40K series, SpaceHulk is the only wargame that is still being updated. Originally released in 1989, it focuses on the battle of the Terminators of the Space Marines against the Tyranid gene stealers, the xenomorphs who occupy the ancient shipwreck, by rolling six-sided dice and comparing points to determine the winner. The game itself has spawned a number of titles, including cards and video games.

There are four generations of tabletop versions of Cosmic Wasteland, with the latest 2014 version adding three extended mission sets.

Card games

Warhammer 40,000: Relic

Warhammer 40,000: Relic

Warhammer4K: Relic was released in 2013 by GW's partner FantasyFlightGames (FFG). It is a non-trading card game with rules based on GW's famous board game Talisman, which is similar to Monopoly.

In 2014, the game's expansion, Relic: Nemesis Expansion, was released.

Players will take on the role of ten characters, including a Space Marine, Inquisitor, Political Commissar, and Ronin Trader, with the help of weapons, courage, faith, and even ancient and powerful relics, to create chaos monsters that suddenly emerge from the cracks in the subspace.

Warhammer 40000: Conquest

Warhammer 40000: Conquest

Warhammer40K: Conquest is another growing card game released by FFG in 2014. The game is played for two, and players will control one of seven forces – Space Marines, Orcs, Chaos, Dark Eldarns, Eldarns, and Titans – in a life-and-death struggle around the main planets of the Traksis sector.

Each round of conquest begins with the rotation of units to the stars that line up between the two players, and the deployment strategy will affect the strategic battle for planetary resources and influence, and the rewards for winning control of the planet will often determine success or failure.

Warhammer 40,000: Forbidden Stars

Warhammer 40,000: Forbidden Stars

Warhammer40K: ForbiddenStars is a galactic warfare board game released by FFG in 2015. Two to four players control Space Marines, Greenskins, Eldars, or Chaos Space Marines. Each faction is searching for lost relics and the power that is at stake in the survival of the race. To do so, they must acquire resources and upgrade their forces to conquer the long-lost Herakon Cluster. [10]

Role-playing games

FFG also produces the following five series of TRPG games (commonly known as "running groups"), which provide more detailed information on the world and setting of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

DarkHeresy, who plays as an Inquisitor in the Calixis Sector.

RogueTrader, who plays as a RogueTrader.

Deathwatch, playing as the Deathwatch warband in the Sea of Jericho.

Black Crusade, who plays as a traitor to the Human Empire.

Only War, play as a member of the Imperial Guard.
