95 ANGRY SANDS PART.1
The sky was bleak and white, and Crane walked on the wasteland that had been rendered barren by exposure to large doses of nuclear radiation.
"Knock, knock, knock."
The power armor's metal boots stomped on the ground with a heavy crashing sound.
Wearing an off-white winter combat T51B power armor and carrying a pitch-black Gauss rifle on his back, Crane at this time looks like a humanoid war mecha.
With a tyrannical outfit, Crane has long since become a savory enough to run rampant in the wasteland, capable of slaughtering any town here. But he's not interested in that kind of thing.
After receiving a strange radio signal at breakfast today, he immediately confirmed the approximate location of the signal on his computer, near the desert north of Washington, D.C., not far from the oasis.
If memory serves, the radiation in that place is terrifying, so Crane also wears an extra set of radiation protection suits under the power armor. Then it took a lot of effort to leave the "dog meat" that always followed him at home.
The reason why I came to investigate was that I didn't have any special purpose at all, just because I was just curious.
It was this intense curiosity that made Crane the legendary "Wasteland Hero".
Walking along the abandoned highway into the endless desert, Crane observes the screen on his arm for the "Pip-Boy 3000" as he walks, getting closer and closer to where the signal is coming from.
Due to the high level of radiation, mutated creatures such as "fat-headed moths", "fire ants" and "mireururks" are often encountered in the wild. Not a single one can be seen in this area, which saves you a lot of trouble - while the creatures' attacks can't break through the Winter Combat Power Armor, it will take some time to deal with them.
However, even through the radiation protective suit, you can still sense the discomfort coming from your body. That's why Crane had never set foot in the land before - the radiation levels were so "high".
"Damn, I'll have to inject Fordin again after I go back this time...... Wait, what's that? ”
Seeing a metallic glow in the desert not far in front of him, Crane pulled out the laser pistol hanging from his waist and walked cautiously over.
It's not surprising to come across anything in the nuclear-contaminated wasteland, and he's even encountered an alien spaceship. So the current Crane is also extremely vigilant.
He had only walked a few steps before a gust of wind swept in, and Crane quickly slowed down.
The wind blew away the sand and dust on the metal objects, and when he saw what was exposed below, even Crane, who had traveled the wasteland for many years and was well-informed, couldn't help but let out an exclamation:
"What are you kidding......"
The first thing that catches your eye is several corpses in yellow radiation suits, as if half of their bodies have been melted away by some kind of energy weapon. One of them also had the wreckage of a portable radio station in his hand, and it seemed that the strange signal was sent by these people.
However, it wasn't this that surprised Crane:
Beneath his feet was an incomparably thick black metal "wall" with an unfathomable crack revealing on it. What appears to be something that should be open, on the metal floor, is inscribed with a line larger than the other: SSN-02.
Underneath what appears to be some kind of numbered number, there is a line of small print: "WASHINGTON-NUCLEAR-SILO-W03." ”
"FUCK, it'...... Nuclear bomb silos? ”
Realizing what he was stepping on, Crane hurriedly took two steps back: if this thing was turned on now, he would surely fall to his death underneath.
Such a huge silo is obviously not an ordinary missile, it must be a giant ICBM!
Before leaving, Crane searched the ground for several bodies.
The men were clearly not dead for long, and the undried blood was stuck to the sand. In the hands of one of them, he holds a PDA that doesn't look bad.
Crane broke the corpse's hands away, picked up the PDA and quickly left the danger area, walking the same way out of the desert.
It's a pity that I want to leave here, and it's not so smooth.
A white light lit up in front of him, and a powerful vortex of energy struck him, hitting the belly of the power armor and leaving a white dot in his wake. Although it didn't break through the armor, the powerful impact it brought still made Crane stumble back a few steps.
Quickly removing the Gauss rifle behind his back, he set his eyes on the figures in front of him, who were also wearing power armor:
- A bastard of the Enclave.
The soldiers of the Enclave wanted to establish their rule in a disorderly wasteland, but ironically, their "president" turned out to be a man.
And the machine was forcibly shut down by himself before, and then there was a big explosion in the Enclave's headquarters "Blackcrow Castle", and it was not easy for him to escape.
After losing its ruler, the current Enclave has gone from being a soldier of the past to a complete thug. With the power armor and energy weapons in their hands, these people basically kill people on sight.
But today they were not confronted by civilians who were powerless to resist.
Crane, who had experienced a hundred battles, raised his pitch-black rifle almost reflexively and aimed at the nearest Enclave soldier.
His powerful Gauss rifle is also a very rare equipment in the wasteland, and the principle of weapon attack is to use the energy of a miniature nuclear fusion battery inside the gun body to cut the metal blocks stored in the gun body into bullets, and then eject them with a strong magnetic field.
In the face of this terrifying weapon, even if the enemy is wearing power armor, he can only withstand two attacks at most.
"Bang!"
The Gauss rifle made a deafening loud noise, and the Enclave soldier who was hit flew backwards two meters and fell to the ground. He had barely stood up when Crane immediately pulled the bolt and pulled the trigger again.
"Bang!"
After the second shot, the guy's head flew out along with the power armor helmet, and the headless body stood there for two seconds before it fell heavily to the sand, kicking up a cloud of smoke.
"Kill him!"
Seeing that their comrades were killed, the other Enclave soldiers did not run away, but continued to attack like crazy.
Crane admires the courage of these guys, but that doesn't mean he will show mercy.
The bullet from the plasma rifle slammed into the power armor in front of his chest, sending out a strange green light, and Crane had no intention of dodging this tickling attack, just continued to shoot as he walked.
In less than a minute, the powerful bullets of the Gauss rifle turned all the Enclave soldiers who attacked him into corpses.
After snatching a few energy batteries from the corpse, Crane turned his Gauss rifle behind him and left the desert without looking back.
