1 Dale Walker's Diary
*
Dear Diary.
Half a month has passed since I last wrote in my diary. A lot of things happened, but nothing happenedβ
This is what one has to experience when one lives in a new place. I spent all my time and energy observing, judging, and testing your relationship with this new environment. New people, new situations, new ...... Everything. So much so that I didn't have any chance to keep to myself and do what I came here for.
My purpose, my purpose...... Now it seems so far away. Perhaps, the current communication with my dear diary will help me sort out some clues.
The day after I last wrote my diary, the day after I became an employee of the Grande, I found an opportunity to get close to the 'owner of the house', Zachary Grande.
I don't know what was going on with him as a master, but it seems that the previous day's conflict with the supposedly famous police detective (James) had deprived him of his only protection in the 'home' of Grande. The North Police Station, Chapman, was reclaimed. My new colleagues, a bunch of stupid guys who had been in jail, were excitedly discussing, "He's done." Grande is going to be clean. β
I found a little space before Evan, who was eager to try, and had a brief conversation with the gentleman Grande.
Fruitless communication. "Just call me Zach. This was the self-introduction he added during this exchange, and it was the only message he gave me.
The third day in the Grande. It's a nervous day. Steve Walker shows up at Grande to find Zach who is going to wipe out his own staff (at least that's what my new colleagues are talking about privately).
I've been dodging. I don't know enough about the city, and I don't know enough about the gray professionals in the city, I don't know how much work ethic they have. I don't want to be seen by this Steve Walker and then be told "How is your new identity going?" and I don't need after-sales service.
The fifth day in Grand was a day full of surprises. Evan was abused by Zack, the master of Grande whom he had privately said countless times to torture in a different way.
No one saw what had happened, but by the time everyone heard Evan's screams, he had been locked in a damaged coffin and hung from the ceiling of Grande's West Warehouse. I have no clue how this Zach came to work. But his words were heard very clearly by everyone:
"Apologize to Matthew, or this is your coffin. β
The elder Hank, who has always maintained acquiescence and even encouragement to employees' private discussions, did not help Evan this time.
This made me realize something - the seemingly well-defined Grande Funeral House, the two divided groups, Hank and Zack, had a tacit rule. Before Zachary Grande, the owner, lost his identity, there were some things that neither side allowed to happen. And I don't think it's just Evan bullying honest Matthew that doesn't allow it to happen.
On the sixth day of the Grande. I see hope. Zach's girlfriend, Louise, is back.
They argued, apparently because Louise was disappointed that her boyfriend's situation at home had deteriorated rapidly during the time she had been away.
My dear diary, if I could, I would have tried to hear more of the argument, but I couldn't, and when I heard the name 'James' mentioned so often, Hank gave us a job. Pai Siying in the North District, there is something that needs to be cleaned up by professionals.
Hank called me, Logan turned down his peers, and Evan filled in. After cleaning up the human remnants that had been plastered on the floors and walls like paste, I returned to Grande with fatigue and anticipation, looking forward to the seventh day.
On the ninth day of Grande, I was already desperately looking forward to finally having a chance to vent.
After two marathons in a row that I don't know if it was a couple quarrel or something else, Louise finally walked out of Grande.
I've never seen such a 'glowing' woman, literally. I could see the sun shining on her skin. She's beautiful.
But that's not the point. That Susan, too, is beautiful. Work is work.
I finished a brief exchange with Louise. Like her boyfriend, "You're Dale Walker? Just call me Louise." "But at least it's a start.
On the tenth day of the Grande. I had no idea that this funeral home would really hold a funeral.
The people on that side of the family all joined the work, Zach, Louise, Logan, Russell, Charlie, Bane, and even the republican cook who rarely showed up, Ink.
If it weren't for Alice and Maya to start helping, I don't think Hank on our side of the house would have helped.
Grande, suddenly, was as busy as a real funeral home. Who was the deceased? It seems to be one of Barton's most famous ladies in the city, Quinn. People are crowded with this funeral home.
On the eleventh day of the Grande. Grande is still crowded, mostly journalists, and some important figures in Barton, such as the mayor. I saw her, my employer, former employer, Aethra.
After waiting for Aethra to express her grief for Mrs. Quinn in front of the microphone and camera, and to be satisfied with the outcome of the 'House of Halfway' project (hehe, dear diary, did you know that this woman was the one who brought a gang of prison thugs to this Grandry), I found an opportunity to meet her.
Wonderful. As we look for a place to avoid the camera, we meet Zach and Louise, who are also hiding from the camera for some reason.
What I didn't want to happen, happened.
From the moment I walked into the Grande, I knew why I was found by Hank and invited into the Grande. Hank needs the same expertise, and there is no talent around the old man who claims to have retired from Barton's gray professional circle. He needs me, and I, need him.
I have a problem to deal with. The woman who witnessed my first business at Barton. And this Hank, who came after me, has a clue.
Hank assured that work is work, and that he was looking for me, not for revenge on that Susan, but because someone in Grande wanted to know where Susan was going. I hand over what Susan had left, and everything will be fine, and he will not care what I have to do.
Two brief exchanges with Zach and Louise, I verified this. These two were the clients who had Hank looking for me, and they really didn't have any ill will towards me being hired to kill that Susan. But they also didn't give any clues, clues about the aftermath.
On this day, I know the name of this aftermath. Daisy. She had escaped from Patton.
"You won't receive your final payment, your work, not clean. "Aethra, she doesn't seem to want to talk to me more, she obviously cares more about Zach and Louise, "You two are going to laugh at me, I found such an unreliable killer to relieve you of your hidden danger." Not only have you found it, but you have also joined you, Grande. Laugh, I'm giving you this chance. β
Confused. What the hell was going through? was it the two of Grande who wanted Susan to die, they obviously had the ability and resources to act on their own, but they asked Aethra to do it, and so I am. And then something went wrong, and after Daisy witnessed the whole thing, she went back to Louise, and Zach used Grand's resources to find me?
Are these people sick?
Dear diary, what should I do, continue the unprocessed aftermath and receive the balance of the work. It's better to leave behind the confusing people and things and think about your future. I entered Grande to get information about Daisy, and I'm going to stay, or I'm leaving.
Stay, I have the resources, Hank, and the relationship between Grande and Barton's important people that has puzzled me. Left, I had no money, I didn't receive the balance from Aethera.
On the twelfth day, Gran became more crowded, and the funeral was held openly in the Church of the Child. But in Grande it was the real funeral of Madame Quinn, and her relatives and friends were here.
Patton's West End car blocked the dirt road in front of Grande, and a group of high school students took Grande's due duty and took over the funeral process. Strange funeral, they say, this is the funeral that Lady Quinn wants, the funeral of the Indons. I don't understand.
The things I read and understood were Zach and Hank.
It seems that within Grande, everyone already knows how precarious the position of this Grande's master is, but that Zach is still Grande's master. He knew that all the guests who attended this internal funeral. I mean, every single one.
I've never met a person who could socialize with so many people at the same time in a social situation.
And Hank, it seems that there are only a few people who have symbolically expressed it for a long time and then ignore it.
I'm still on Grande's side of Hank, but I have to ask, "Zachary Grande, is it really a fake Grande? He has to get rid of Grande?"
"A must!"
I can't understand this answer.
Thirteenth day in the Grande. That is, two days ago, a visitor arrived in Grande.
The two arrived one after another, and my colleagues, the 'halfway citizens' who had been desperately dressing up and grooming and showing their hard work in front of the camera, began to hide. They told me that the first one to come was Daxi, the current chief of the North District Police Station, and the second was Cologne, the former chief of the North District Police Station and now the South District Police Station.
I can't get any of the purpose of these two visitors to Grande, as they only went to Grande's office. Zach's office.
I asked Hank again, "Why, Grande can't let this Zachary Grande stay?"
"If you can't, you can't. β
My dear diary, should I switch sides?
The fourteenth day in the Grande, yesterday. The two bureau chiefs who had been to Grande the day before appeared on TV together, and they said that the self-explosion case was solved. Thank you to the citizens who supported the actions of the police, to the citizens who were hurt in the attack, to the police who have done their job to defend the city once again, and to the ......
Who cares.
I only care about one thing, in the long thanks, in mourning, in praise...... The recurring Grande that appears in the list.
I found Bane. He seemed to be the best one to talk to on the other side of the house, because he couldn't help it. His wife and children live in the living quarters, and he has a burden, and he has to accommodate Evan's gang.
"Grande killed an employee in the blew up?Sem, right, why haven't I ever heard anyone talk about him?" I asked.
I didn't get an answer, just a look not to talk to me.
Today. I've been looking for opportunities to meet people over there. Russell, Logan, Charlie...... Either of them will do.
No chance. Grande's neighbors invited Zach and the rest of the group to be guests, and the people on the other side of the house, with the exception of Bane, who made it clear that he didn't want to talk to me, all disappeared.
Dear Diary, look out the window at the moon tonight, big, round, bright. Right above our heads. It's starting to land west, and tomorrow, it's coming.
What should I do?
*
In a window in the living quarters of the Grande employees, it was dark for a while behind the closed window. A crack opened in the window. A head poked out and rubbed his body that had been hit by the cool breeze, but he didn't seem to be ready to retract it, and a little spark lit up between his fingers.
"Do you still have it? β
Dale looked up in surprise. He couldn't see the whole picture, only a leg leaking outside.
"What's there?"
"Smoke. Zach replied.
Dale hesitated for a moment, turned around, and came back a moment later, tossing a cigarette and lighter in his pocket.
"I'm not alone. "Zach wants more.
"How did you get there?" Maybe this was the chance, and Dale was ready to go up.
"No, give me a pack. β
In the moonlight, a pack of cigarettes defers gravity. The sound of a lighter being fired continuously.
Dale counted this time, "How many people are up there?"
"Huh. Zach's laughter was followed by Zach's leaking face, "Do you want to join? Sorry, it's only for members." β
"What member?" even though you know it's just an exclusive joke, but you still have to ask. Opportunity, how rare, diary knows.
"Eternal Member. "I don't know, it seems to be some old voice, with an incomprehensible smile. Someone echoed the laughter.
"We're not ...... yet"
"Shhhhh
"Russell?!" Dale confirmed that the voice in the middle was Russell!'We'?'What 'we',' "Logan Charlie?" is it you?" It's just a guess.
It was quiet above.
"Dale?" Zach turned his face down, facing Dale, "What were you doing? β
"Nothing. "'I'm writing in a journal,' the answer is something that no adult would ever say.
"Do you have a secret, Dale?" Zach's voice was, uh, so gentle. Probably the moon was at fault.
"Everyone has secrets. "You can't go wrong with that.
"Hehe, that's this. Zach held out his hand, shaking the cigarette case, which was already shaking due to the missing contents, "It's our secret, how's that?"
Dale frowned. Confusion prevails. Grande's master smokes on the roof in the middle of the night and needs to be a secret? Am I missing something?
Zach didn't seem to want to pay any attention to it, "Hehe, the secret has to be kept, right, Dale." Retracting his head, "Let's change places." β
"Ma'am, do you want to move a little more? β
"Couldn't be more than happy. I want to go to the woods to the south. β
"Oh, let's go. β
Dale waited on the windowsill for a long time until he could no longer bear the temperature.
*
Dear diary, I just finished a brief exchange with Zach. He's on the roof, he's not alone. However, he is already gone, and I don't hear how he left.
