Chapter 32: Night Attack
Two days later, after crossing the vast snowfields, Lancet and the mage finally left the snow-covered north and stepped into the coastal region northwest of the Mersel continent.
Although it is only a dozen kilometers away from the north, the climate and landscape presented are very different.
The snow-covered Coldridge Mountains grew smaller and smaller in their line of sight, with an endless coastal plain in front of them. The so-called coastal plain is mainly formed by the relative rise of sea erosion platforms or underwater shoals to expose the sea surface, and cracks crawl over the entire plain area, like hideous scars. There are still muddy sewage in several deep depressions on the surface, forming small pools of water.
Strangely shaped crevasses, rivers twisting like long snakes, Moria was clearly seeing the landscape of the coastal plain for the first time, and she looked at everything in front of her with interest.
"Don't be so curious, you'll see it in a moment." Lancet said lightly.
At that time, the female mage did not understand the meaning of the other party's words, but when the evening sun was about to sink into the sea level, she finally felt an inexplicable irritability.
After a whole day of walking through this cracked land, the speed of the horses was greatly reduced due to the influence of the terrain, and after watching the scenery that had remained unchanged all day, Moria finally realized what it was like to feel like to vomit.
I chose a flat land with an open terrain and a good view, set up a simple tent, and after a hasty dinner, the two got into the sleeping bag. They didn't even light a campfire for fear of attracting other beasts and creatures, and Robb slouched in front of Ranster's tent and opened his mouth to yawn widely.
The temperature in the coastal area dropped rapidly at night, and Moria lay in her sleeping bag, her big eyes staring at the darkness overhead. The cold, damp weather here at night seemed to her even more unbearable than the bone-chilling cold in the north.
She stumbled up and climbed out of the tent, and by the hazy moonlight she saw that Lenster was already sitting outside, staring blankly at the sky.
It wasn't the first time a female mage had seen such a look on his face, and during her days of adventures with Lancet, she would often see similar actions in the middle of the night.
"Can't sleep?" She asked quietly.
Hearing Moria's voice, Lancet immediately smiled and hid the lonely look on his face.
"A little homesick." He stretched out and rested his head on Robb's soft back. The Hound only glanced sideways with his eyes half-open, and then continued to sleep with both ears twitching.
Ed stood on top of his master's tent, his little head curled up in his wings, seemingly uninterested in the conversation between the two men.
Moria looked at him with some surprise, in the past, Lancet would directly change the topic or find a way to perfunctory the past, but he didn't expect to say it simply this time.
"Where's your home? Sindariel? The mage asked with some curiosity, discovering that she knew nothing about the mysterious witcher.
"How could you be a half-elf ...... in that kind of place," Lenster replied in a lazy tone, changing his comfortable position, "I'm from Makana's country, and that's the best place for half-elves. ”
"Is it because Makana's eldest princess is a half-elf?" Moria's immediate contact with the key to this.
"Good guess. The identity of Her Royal Highness the eldest princess has become the biggest reliance of the half-elf, and the half-elf who lives in Makanna is much better than other places. ”
"You're over there...... Are there any relatives left? The female mage asked hesitantly. Although she knew that this question might not be asked, she still couldn't hold back.
"Loved ones......" Ranster repeated what the female mage had just said, and couldn't help but think of her life before the time travel.
"Nope." After only hesitating for a moment, he replied crisply, and then quickly added, "No need to apologize." ”
Moria couldn't help but smile when she heard this, and then she saw Lancet quickly turn over and sit up, staring at herself in a daze.
Before she could react, she was gently pulled over by the other party, blocking the female mage's lips that wanted to open.
Ahem, hands, of course.
"Don't talk, we're surrounded." Lancet whispered in Moria's ear as he gently kicked Robb beside him. Then, in the cold moonlight, Lancet could clearly see a group of dwarf fellows gathered around the camp, almost ten yards from the two of them.
Goblins. Lancet finally saw these guys for what they really were.
Goblins are small, irascible creatures that are evil, treacherous, predatory, and savage.
"Defend yourself, I'm going to take out a couple of goblin shooters on the outside." Ranster instructed the mage, and with Robb he had rushed towards the numerous goblins. The goblins who wanted to sneak attack the two travelers obviously didn't expect such a thing to happen, their natural greed for life and fear of death was brought into full play, and the goblins in front of them had already begun to retreat.
Lancet didn't care what these guys thought, his left palm glowing with fiery red light was already aimed at the goblin warrior in front of him.
The shockwave that swept the flames instantly burned all the goblins in front of them to ashes, and the goblins on this side began to scream and flee at the power of the Lancester Fire Curse.
Robb rushed into the chaotic group of goblins, and the scattered goblins were slaughtered almost without any way to fight back.
The female mage, who took advantage of the chaos on the other side, also added a fire without hesitation. The golden pillars of fire in her hands continued to burn at the goblins who tried to rush up, causing them to let out a miserable cry, and finally burned to the ground.
Ed flew into the air under Lance's command, and the goblin shooters standing on the outermost side of the line were already hesitant to escape, but Eddard's attack confirmed their thoughts and turned to flee.
The raven hovered in midair, its dim vision clearly seeing the scattered goblins retreating, scrambling into the chasm not far from the camp.
These goblins were menacing, and they fled quickly, and they wanted to rob the two travelers, but they didn't expect to kick them on the iron plate, and the two of them and a dog didn't even lose a single hair, so they beat these guys to the ground.
Hearing Eddard say that all the escaped goblins had burrowed into the rifts around them, Lancet decided to set off immediately, he didn't want to wait for more goblin troops to emerge from the rifts and surround the two of them.
Quickly packing up everything, the two men turned over their horses and ran forward in the thin moonlight.
