Act IX: The Battle of the Dead Witches
The Lower-Level Corpse Witch specializes in two spells, the Dark Veil and the Rot. Both spells are dark magic with an element of 'evil'.
In the game, the dark magic was brought to the earth by the Miners. The Miners were servants of the Dragon of Dusk, and during the Chaos Ages before the beginning of the First Age, they lived on the tundra plateau north of Cruz.
The shamans of the Miner were adept at using spiritism and black sorcery, both of which were later collectively referred to as black magic, as well as offensive spells outside of the qiēelemental, natural, and divine factions.
After the Holy War, Gilt, the Lord of Fire, drove these dark inhabitants to the cold East, where they are said to have never been seen since.
But the Miner people must have survived, and in the Black Codex, the dark lords who were exiled to Madara learned the inheritance of black sorcery from the hands of these demonic people.
However, the Dark Curtain is a bit of a misnomer to be called Dark Magic, as it is a secondary concealment spell that happens to obscure the whereabouts of a small group of skeleton soldiers.
Of course, this is not completely invisible. You can imagine a trick that blends into a dark background, yes, it doesn't mask sounds, smells, or other things outside of vision, and it is limited to a certain distance.
But in the dark, this spell became the best cover for Madara's army of the undead, which is the main reason why Madara's army often chose to act at night.
As for the Rotten Technique, this terrifying black magic had already been seen by Freya and the others on Jossen once.
This is a vicious attack spell, and it is also the main attack method of the corpse witch, it relies on negative forces to corrupt the enemy, and when the enemy's negative feelings are stricter and the willpower is weaker, the spell damage will be deepened accordingly.
Until death.
This spell works in the same way as most of the dark arts, using guò to amplify negative forces to manifest the power of destruction.
Armed with mysterious black magic and commanding thoughtless skeletal soldiers - stronger and cunning in nature, the Corpse Witch seems to be an invincible foe.
However, Sophie also knows a secret, the corpse witch does not actually have the ability to cast spells itself. Their true power comes from the Bone Staff in their hands, a powerful magical item that belongs to each Witch and turns back into a normal stick when they leave their hands.
Knowing this, then it is clear how the tactics around it should be played.
As another skeleton soldier fell, Sophie reminded her that Freya and Esen, the most swordsmen in the militia, wrapped up with the corpse witch who was preparing a spell.
"Attacking its hand, black magic is not as mysterious as you think," Sophie pointed out the undead monster's weakness at the back, "See its gestures, prevent it from completing its spells, and take its bone staff......"
The corpse witch suddenly raised its head to meet Sophie's gaze, a ball of phosphorus green fire glittering with resentment. Sophie choked, his throat running dry, and he knew that the other party was eyeing him - but our protagonist immediately calmed down, and it was impossible for this walking corpse to get around the militia attacking him.
Being targeted by a lifeless, cold monster was not a comfortable thing to do, and Sophie had to stop and wait for Freya and Essen's attacks to take effect.
The corpse witch smiled grimly and shook the bone staff, the darkness around it swaying like ripples and drowning it. When Essen's sword stabbed like a snow, but only one was stabbed, the place where the undead monster had been located became empty.
"Huh?" The young man was slightly stunned.
Sophie's face remained unchanged, he was all too familiar with the tricks of these guys: "Essen, on your left!" ”
Essen didn't react for a moment.
But Freya, who had caught up from behind, had already slashed straight at the sword, drawing a straight silver line in the dim environment, and it seemed that it was almost where Sophie was pointing, but before that the corpse witch had stumbled backwards.
Everyone saw the shadow that receded like flowing water.
"Human, who are you! You're not some kind of militia! A shrill voice erupted from the shadows, and the corpse witch looked a little angry.
Indeed, the militia could not have known so much, and some of what Sophie said was only circulated among shamans even in Madara.
But Sophie was silent, and Freya's second sword followed. The green light flashed in the eyes of the corpse witch, and it raised the bone staff hatefully to pull away the girl's sword, the corpse witch has the power of 1.7 energy levels, and Freya must not be higher than Brando's strength.
The pony-tailed girl's attack was led to the side by the light, and she rushed forward several steps before stopping, and immediately subconsciously covered her left shoulder and frowned slightly.
The previous arrow wound seems to have cracked again.
"Big sister, let Makmi come, your wounds ......" Ethan couldn't help but shout as he parried the corpse witch's attack when he saw this scene.
Macmi and Little Phoenix caught up from behind.
"Little Phoenix, stand back for me!" But Freya slashed her sword in front of the hairy imp and commanded.
"But I'm also a militia!" The boy shouted unconvinced.
"Stand back, do you hear me?"
Little Finnis blushed with anger and had a thick neck, but even so, he still didn't dare to disobey Freya's orders. Among their group of young people, Freya has always been the leading one, the girl is kind-hearted and has her own persistence, and everyone is actually very convinced of such a captain.
Sophie shook her head in the back, the battlefield is not a place for disputes. However, the persistence of the ponytail girl aroused his favor, and such girls were rare in his world.
"You four go up together." He spoke from behind.
"Mr. Brando, you-!" Freya took a breath and couldn't help but look back at the young man lying on the rock, Roman, who was still standing on his side, looking innocently at this side, and winking at herself.
This dead girl, she surrendered to the enemy so quickly!
She couldn't help but feel a sigh of relief.
"Corpse witches are tough enemies, and the four of you can cover each other." Sophie replied solemnly.
"Little Phoenix ......"
"He's also a militiaman."
Freya bit her lip, and she looked back to see that Macmi and Ethan had been defeated by the Witch, and if the undead monster was given a chance to cast a spell, the team would have to be reduced again.
That's not something she can afford.
Thinking of this, she only nodded: "Okay." ”
"Hooray! Brando, you're amazing! Little Phoenix shouted, and immediately unsheathed his sword. But Freya grabbed him by the collar from behind, pulled it back and ordered sternly: "You follow me, don't go out of my cover, understand-"
"Oh......" the voice of disappointment.
Freya and Little Phoenix joined the battle and the situation was immediately reversed, she and Essen were already the best swordsmen in the Buchi militia in this period, and the surprise was that Little Phoenix was not inferior at all - in Sophie's words, this child had a strong offensive intention, and his sword was decisive and precise - not like Eruin's military swordsmanship, which pursued the integration of attack and defense, but more like Cruz's aggressive battle formation swordsmanship.
But in that respect, from the point of view of a veteran fighter, this is already an extremely high evaluation.
Sophie thought that perhaps by the time little Phoenix grew up to Brando's size, he would not be inferior in swordsmanship, but slightly less spiritually, though perhaps because Brando was born to fight.
He sometimes wondered if that young man hadn't died in history, but had grown up in war, and the final achievement would have been no darker than Freya's.
It's a pity that the world is impermanent, and history has no ifs.
Of course, the most important point in this battle is that there are reminders of young people interspersed with them. Sophie seemed to have completely seen through the corpse witch's thoughts, and he could point out the slightest hint of the other's intentions.
What is it for?
Why is it doing this?
Is it preparing a spell?
When do you need to interfere with it?
The more the corpse witch fights, the more frightened he becomes, and the dead will not be afraid, but they will also be at a loss. Finally it almost screams, "Who the hell are you, necromancer?" Or the Black Knight? ”
This was rewarded with Freya's merciless sword, and its claws clenching the bone staff flying high, and the monster screamed, and the green fire in its sunken eyes dimmed.
"Abominable human ......"
The battle ended with a well-deserved sword, and the Witch was exhausted before that, howling out in reluctance as its hands and bone staff were shattered, as it watched as the blade sliced into its skull.
With a snap, soul fire burst out of its body, a dying counterattack from the monster, but at Sophie's reminder, only Essen, who was a little slower to dodge, suffered a slight burn on his right hand.
On the other side, the others also killed the remaining two skeletons at the cost of one person's hanging lottery, and when the forest returned to calm, only the wind swept over the top of the forest, making a soft rustling sound.
Everyone couldn't help but stop and look at each other.
Everyone, including Freya, looked incredulous. They actually won, facing four skeleton soldiers and a terrifying corpse witch.
The sword in Macmie's hand first fell to the ground with a clatter, and then there was a chain reaction of the others. Everyone couldn't help but hug each other, shouting and screaming, and some even cried to vent their feelings.
The rest of my life after the catastrophe is really a bit of a trance.
Sophie quieted down, and when he looked up, he saw three golden lights flying up from the darkness and merging into his chest. And no one around seemed to notice this detail, not even Roman standing beside him.
Miss Merchant's face was breathing a sigh of relief.
Hey, is this the only one he can see? Sophie couldn't help but feel a little strange.
He glanced around and subconsciously opened the character's attributes, just like when he was still in 'Amber Sword', and Sophie was always the first to look at the gains and losses after the battle.
Rows of dark green numbers immediately appeared on the retina.
Strength 1.1, dexterity 2.0, constitution 1.0, intelligence 1.1, will 1.3, perception 1.0.
Absolute Power 3.5, Elements (Uncivilized) -
Brando, human male, Level 1 (power system: Physical, Melee; Talents: Unyielding)
XP: 4 (Civilian Level 1: ―, Militia Level 2, 6/10)
Health (Weak, Dying): 10% (Bandaged, regain 1 health per day)
Finding a job (idle skill experience 1) -
Civilians [Basic Knowledge (Level 1), Geography Knowledge (Level 0), Local Knowledge (Level 1)]
Militia [Military Swordsmanship (Level 1), Combat Skills (Level 1), Tactical Theory (Level 0), Military Organization (Level 0)]
It can be found that the attributes that have changed are strength and physique, indicating that his physical essence has been improved from the training (upgrading) of the militia class.
Then the absolute strength increased by 2.5 energy levels, mainly from the improvement of the dexterity of the ring after the wind, and the secondary thing was the change of the body element.
In the end, in this battle, he only gained four experience points from four skeleton soldiers and a corpse witch. With only half the experience she deserves, Sophie thought about it for a moment and finally had to come to a conclusion - team up to punish.
It's just ridiculous, how can there be such a thing in the real world? However, as a game nerd, he doesn't have any expertise to explain this qiē, after all, it is a more ridiculous thing to travel through than this.
Isn't it?
At first, he wanted to figure out how the party penalty was calculated, but he soon realized that it was futile, as it didn't seem to have anything to do with the game at all.
"Lord Martha, it's good that my nerves are thick......" He couldn't help but rub his forehead with a little headache.
But then Sophie stared at his militia level and hesitated, to be honest, he didn't really want to continue to invest in this profession, the militia scrap really didn't need words to describe, so much so that it has always been called an NPC-specific class.
In his previous life, he could never have imagined that he would have a day of wasting experience in this profession.
And I chose the talent of unyielding!
Martha is on top, there are too many talents suitable for a warrior, and Unyielding happens to be the most bad one. This ability allows him to survive a fatal physical blow, but he only has five minutes to account for the aftermath unless he is healed sufficiently strong before then.
But until now, he had never seen a more life-restoring item than a bandage, and he knew that these things were everywhere in the game.
But Sophie didn't regret it much, but this skill saved his life, didn't it?
But it's the same now, and the reality is that he can't find a way to find another career for a while. And he is in dire need of strength, so the only way left is to go all the way to the dark in the profession of militia -
Sophie couldn't help but feel a little depressed for a moment.
Do you want to change from a veteran fighter to a veteran militiaman? Hey, aren't the fighters enough cannon fodder!
