Chapter 45: First Arrival in Draenor
Subscriptions have been rising so slowly these days, and book friends are begging for help.
The light was a little dazzling, and Aurelia hurriedly lowered her forehead through the dark gate, dodging the intense heat of this new continent.
Khadgar followed Aurelia through the Dark Gate and into the world of Draenor. Khadgar was completely shocked by what he saw.
The endless red continent stretches like blood on the land, and it seems that the land is also rejecting such pain, and it hopes that it can escape from the heat and desolation of this time. In the midst of the struggle, the earth cracked, and countless cracks were like long and narrow scars attached to the land.
Not only that, but the sky of Delanor was also blood-red. It seems to have been hit by strong energy, or has been impregnated with strange energy. Under the blazing sky, there is no breath of plant life here, and all that can live here are a few scattered wild boars with sharp hairs and reptiles shuttling under the land.
Khadgar gasped, and he finally understood why these orcs of the world of Draenor had desperately passed through the Dark Portal to the world of Azeroth. Because their world is no longer enough to be called an outer world, it is like a hell here.
Luckily, there are no orc clans in the expeditionary force's sights, and although it is barren, it is compared to the Cursed Lands. It's safe for now.
After arriving in a new continent, Tulayan and the entire Sons of Lothar began to figure out how to complete their plans in this new world.
Of course, before this plan, the expeditionary force needed a territory of its own, or rather a castle.
The expeditionary force first needs to be stationed in this world.
Tulayan listened to Khadgar, and with the help of magic, Khadgar used his eagle eye to overlook the entire red continent. He soon found a flat piece of land, a wide platform slightly higher than the open area in front of him, where the expeditionary force was to build a castle.
After a week had passed, Tulayan did not choose to attack the orc clan in the first place. He instructed the scouts to explore orc territory beyond the continent. The Scouts' reconnaissance was excellent, and they were soon able to map a portion of the world of Draenor in the camp of the Expeditionary Force.
Rollin and Khadgar were the first to see this new territory. As Magisters of the Watch Castle, they have a high level of credibility in this regard.
"This is the latest map drawn by the scout soldiers. Every precise location of the land we are on is marked. Khadgar unfolded the map and placed it in front of Rollin's eyes.
Rubbing his palms, Rollin half-crouched down, and he pointed his fingers at each sign earnestly and said, "This is the road to the next area, and this is the fortress left by the orcs before." To the north, there are also the orcs of the tribe, and to the south, there are rich ores. It's so accurate that it can be drawn and published. β
Khadgar has complete trust in Rollin, and for this magister, he has a special way of probing things. A powerful divinity, this divinity is different from the divinity he has mastered, Rollin can do a lot of things with the help of his own divinity, just one thing, he can use his divinity to verify the accuracy of this map. β
The map matter was put aside for now, and Khadgar had come to Rollin today for something else.
"You know I was apprenticed in Karazhan, and I told you before that when I was an apprentice in Karazhan, I used to see a lot of visions." Khadgar said depressedly.
Arcane magic has a school of divination, which uses spell energy to infer what will happen later. This is what happens as long as the energy is sufficient.
"I know." Rollin nodded.
Khadgar continued: "I once met in Karazhan and I came through a black door to a strange world, and then there was a violent explosion in this world. I vanished in the midst of the explosion, into a place I didn't recognize. β
Khadgar spoke with a sense of fear, and he couldn't accept what had happened after the illusion.
"I told you everything I saw the other day, and it should be clear to both of us that the Warsong Clan, the orcs in the world of Azeroth, are nothing more than an army that has caught our attention. Neozu's true goal was to take the artifacts of the world of Azeroth, but he failed. So all he can do now is maintain the energy rift of the Dark Gate, and he can't cast a spell ritual as intense as you might expect. Rollin patiently explained.
Rollin has reason to believe that his previous efforts are necessary. The Scepter of Sargeras, the Magic Eye of Dalaran, are in the hands of Dalaran and himself. Even the Book of Medivan is now in Khadgar's hands. This was what Perinord had given to Khadgar as a gift after the victory in the war. It can also be regarded as the return of things to their original owners.
"Do you have a hunch, Rollin. I have a feeling that these strange energies of the orc world do not come from this world, it seems to come from other worlds, from the energy of other worlds. Khadgar frowned, looking up at the blood-red sky like shattered eggshells.
Grabbing handfuls of dirt from the ground, Rollin used Arcane to catalyze them into sand. Then let them slip from your fingers.
When the sand cleared, all that remained in Rollin's hands was the burning fire of evil energy.
"The burning evil energy that pervades this place is the culprit that has destroyed this continent like this. Like our cursed land, the evil energy here has polluted and destroyed its ecology. Luo Lin dissipated the burning evil energy in his hand and said.
The energy that cannot coexist with this world, the substance that can only bring negative images to this world, is definitely not the energy that comes from this world. It's not like Azeroth's magical and arcane powers, nor are it world-shaping elements, these evil powers are simply something that descends on this continent through an additional channel.
"You say, could the energy here have anything to do with Sargeras?" Khadgar guessed.
Rollin knew all of this, but it was necessary for him to make Khadgar understand the connection between them.
"Why do you say that?" Rollin asked.
Khadgar stroked his beard and thought seriously, "The demon that lurked in Mentor Medivan's body was Sargeras, and the origin of this demon came from the battle five hundred years ago. He had been defeated at the hands of Egwene, and there was clinging to her body. You also know what happened after that, Sargeras controlled Medivin and made him do a lot of wrong things. Building the Dark Gate and establishing contact with the orc world is what he does. β
"Yes, there is. Do you know the upwind trail? Khadgar suddenly seemed to remember something, and his eyes flashed with a dazzling light.
Shrugging his shoulders, Rollin waved his hand.
"Thankfully, you haven't been. It was a dead place. Countless towering trees have turned into shriveled branches, and everything that was once covered with vegetation has become a place of boulders. Like where we live now, the Upwind Trail has faced the same disasters as here. Medivan once told me that this was caused by the leakage of magical energy. But the other person, Medivan, who is my true mentor, talks about this area with a blank look in his eyes. From this I can infer that Sargeras also has this burning power of ours. Khadgar said.
With good reason, Khadgar straightened out the time that had happened before. He combined these times to come to his current conclusion.
"You're right, if that's the case, there must be creatures in this world who are as powerful as Sargeras." Rollin said, looking around at the barren red earth.
"There are demons in the world of Azeroth, you should know that." Rollin said.
As a creature introduced by the abuse of magic to tear through tiny rifts in space, how could Khadgar as a mage not know. He nodded and said, "I know, but I haven't seen these demons. β
"The power that these demons possess and unleash is also evil power, and they belong to the same organization. An organization called the Burning Legion. Rollin said.
Burning Legion, Khadgar slapped his forehead. He pulled the magic package from his robes. Then he eagerly opened the package and took out the Book of Medivan.
A quick flip through the Book of Medivan, which seems to contain endless knowledge, Khadgar finds a new clue in this book.
"Where did you know about this?" Khadgar carefully read the special text on the Book of Medivan. Although to outsiders, this book is a waste paper without words.
Raising an eyebrow, Rollin said, "From the elven kingdom." β
Immersed in searching for information about the Burning Legion, Khadgar did not notice the darkness of Rollin, let alone doubt what he said.
"Found it! Mentor Medivan had received this knowledge in the Council of Tirisva. War of the Ancients, an ancient race and guardian dragon battle against an alien race on the Western Continent. Khadgar stared intently at the book. At the same time, he reached out and pulled Rollin over.
"You should have told me these things earlier." Khadgar said as he stared at Rollin after learning all this.
Spreading his hands, Rollin made a helpless gesture and said, "If you hadn't thought about it so comprehensively today, I wouldn't have thought of these things. This is our common conclusion. β
A common conclusion? Khadgar was about to question Rollin, only to find that Rollin had already walked out of the camp.
Instead of continuing to investigate the matter, Khadgar put away the Book of Medivan and walked out of the tent, stepping back onto the scorching land.
Suddenly, a hurricane from the north swept over the tent. Rollin erected an arcane barrier in his hand, and the red sand landed in front of him, piling up into a small sand dune.
"Yesterday when I was patrolling the north side, I spotted a high ground. In this area, I detected additional demonic aura. Rollin looked at Gao to the north and said.
"The spirit of inquisitiveness tells us that we should explore this place." Khadgar said.
With the help of Rollin's teleportation spell, Khadgar and Rollin disappeared without a trace in the blue spell energy in an instant.
ββDividing Lineββ
"Tulayan, our foundations have been laid. The rest of the time we will build our castle on this large open space. Tolbain said as he followed behind Tulayan.
Tulayan, who had been working in the quarry for the past few days, was pushing a cart of boulders, and when he returned here, he saw the flat and solid foundation, smiled knowingly and said, "Why is it so fast, I originally thought it would take us two weeks to finish." β
Thorbain coughed lightly and said, "With the two archmages, Rollin and Khadgar, helping us clear the hard boulders, we've sped up a lot. β
Hearing Tor Bane say that Khadgar and Rollin were archmagisers, Tulayan put his hand on the shoulder of the commander from Rapids and asked, "Aren't they tricksters?" β
"Hey, Tulayan, don't be sarcastic about me." Thorbain said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"By the way, Tulayan, our scout just brought back the latest news." Torbain suddenly became alert, and he took a tiny letter from his trousers and handed it to Tulayan.
The atmosphere was tense, and Tulayan unplugged it and pulled the scout's message back from the letterbox.
"These **** orc mongrels have appeared on the old orc site in the distance, and they have also begun to transport supplies and stones, preparing to build a new fortress." Tulayan clenched his fists and said.
After hearing Tula's words, Tolbain's relaxed face immediately tensed. He touched the bridge of his nose and said angrily: "Let me lead the team to blow them up, these orcs still dare to build a fortress under our noses, they simply don't know whether they are alive or dead." β
After a moment's thought, Tulayan dispelled Torbain's anger and said, "Don't get too excited. The Orc fortress is far away from us, and we are now short of resources, so there is no need to make these senseless sacrifices. Let's settle down first. Build our site and then make plans. β
Tulayan's statement also makes sense. Thorbain nodded, and continued to push the wooden cart full of stone.
On the finished foundation, Kudran lay on his back on a bluestone slab, and he complained to Aurelia beside him, "Has your team found a new source of water?" β
Aurelia replied confidently, "Of course, Rollin gave me a pretty accurate location. I spent three days with the soldiers before we found an abundant source of water underground. β
Knowing this crucial information, Kudran excitedly said, "Thank God, you have to take good care of these water sources. It's hot, so don't bake these babes dry. (To be continued.) )
