Chapter 3 The seven-year period is justifiable

But it was said that Brother Kavanagh received a palm from Osterhout, and was shaken ten cubits away from the cliff, and for a time there was a surge of blood and blood, and the whole person fell away from the cliff with Segolena in his arms. He closed his eyes tightly, only listening to the whirring wind in his ears, and the infinite images in his mind came one after another, and the light and the extinction overlapped, and finally all fell silent, and only one voice was very clear: "Monk, this child is left alone with you!"

Brother Kavanagh woke up like a dream, and quickly opened his eyes, his blonde hair was still fluttering in the wind, and his two small hands were tightly wrapped around his waist, and his heart couldn't help but feel hot. He secretly thought: "Saving this child's life is not in vain for Viscount Duland's entrustment." After making up his mind, Brother Kavanagh took a deep breath, and the breath in his body suddenly agitated, and he rushed into the cycle from the Aries Palace, rushed out of the Pisces Palace, and in an instant, he had circulated the ecliptic in his body for a week, and the one hundred and forty-four star life points were integrated and penetrated, and the internal strength accelerated layer by layer, and finally accumulated in the arms of the two **, like a giant crossbow at the beginning.

Seeing that the castration was getting faster and the two were about to fall to the ground, Brother Kavanagh shouted "God forbid", and his arms were spread out in unison, and he threw Segolena horizontally. The force of this desperate burst was extremely strong, and the momentum of the young man's rappel was twisted horizontally, and the monk himself was also repulsed by the force, and his body deviated slightly, falling diagonally in the opposite direction. When he saw Segolena's thin body drifting sideways like a bird in the wind, his heart was wide, and he knew that this time was over, and the fate of the young man depended on God's judgment.

Brother Kavanagh understood the matter, stopped struggling, and allowed himself to crash into the ground. He suddenly felt a heart-rending pain in his chest, and his back shook violently, and his eyes went black, and then he fainted......

...... I don't know how much time passed, Brother Kavanagh woke up, and the sky was already bright, but there was still a blood-red blur in front of him, and he could only feel the light slightly, but he didn't know whether he was in hell or heaven. He barely bred himself up, tried his luck, but felt his breath suffocated, and his limbs were not moving, and it was difficult to even flick his fingers.

Fortunately, Brother Kavanagh practiced the Gospel of Matthew, which was based on perseverance and was the best at suffering. He slowly adjusted his breath according to the gospel method, and the blood red in his eyes gradually faded, and the scene became clear. He looked down first, but he startled himself.

He was now sitting down in front of a rock, with his back to the cliff, and a stiff branch sticking out of the rock ran through his left chest from his back, and then poked out more than half an elbow from his chest, like a wooden nail nailing his whole body firmly to the rock. The branch passed between the ribs, but it never touched the heart, and because it was tightly tied, not even much blood flowed, which was a great blessing in misfortune.

Brother Kavanagh shook his head, a faint thud in the back of his head, thinking that it should be a large bush with overlapping branches and leaves, not cold stone. It seems that if it weren't for this branch to pick up his body and block castration, he would have crashed into the rock and shattered. Brother Kavanagh knew that if he pulled out the branch without authorization in such a situation, even if he moved it slightly, he would immediately spurt blood and die, and he could not survive and have no way to die, so he couldn't help but smile bitterly and said to himself: "Almighty Lord, are you saving me?

Originally, the heart lion ** was the pivotal key for the transmission of breath, and it was a place where it must be passed, but now the branches are extremely close to the heart, and there is often a danger of life, and Brother Kavanagh did not dare to make a mistake easily, so he had to find another way. There is a method in the Gospel of Matthew, which can bypass the lion** and force the sixteen star life points of the Cancer Palace in the chest cavity to reach the two houses of Virence and Libra to form a cycle. Although the effect of this false path method is limited, and it can only be borrowed from a thin passage, it is enough to be used at this time.

Brother Kavanagh endured the pain, and according to the mental method, he continuously let the breath turn in his body four or five times around the ecliptic Zhoutian, and the blood and qi gradually became active, and his right arm was slowly able to bend and stretch, and his five fingers also gained some strength, but the other three limbs could not move no matter what. He waited for a moment, then raised his right hand, and first ordered several star life points of the lion ** to adjust, so that a mass of energy protected the heart veins, and calculated the movement of the celestial body, and it was necessary to wait for the earth, fire and sun to run at the same time into the three palaces of the zodiacal Libra, goat and Taurus, and then stab the body with a finger according to the corresponding direction of the palaces, and drive away the wounds and remove stasis according to the classical bloodletting method, so as not to make the four liquids unbalanced.

This effort is extremely time-consuming, and it takes half a day to turn around the Kavanagh monk's internal strength. It was just after noon that Brother Kavanagh stopped recuperating, exhausted, and leaned against the rock wall to breathe, but did not dare to move. He said in his heart that he had saved his life at this moment, but it was not a long-term solution, he couldn't move, and he just died of thirst and starvation. If it weren't for the Holy See's strict prohibition of suicide, he would have been forced to pull out a branch and die, far better than this embarrassing state of not being dead or alive.

Just as he was thinking, a dark shadow suddenly came running from a distance. He fixed his eyes and looked again, it wasn't who Segolena was!

Friar Kavanagh was so surprised that he opened his mouth to call his name, ignoring his injuries. Segolena heard the call, and his feet were faster, and in a moment he was in front of the monk, his face full of joy and excitement, and he was unharmed. Brother Kavanagh suddenly felt a strange smell wafting from him, fishy and smelly, and there were patches of oil on his clothes and trousers, and there were dots of flesh hanging from him.

Brother Kavanagh looked behind him again, and then understood. There was a mountain of white flesh on the far hills, which was extremely incongruous with the surrounding green scenery - it was the corpses of the two horses and two mules! After they fell down the cliff, they were actually planted in one place, turning into a pile of meat balls with you and me, and I with you. Segolena was struck by Brother Kavanagh and landed right on Roshan. The monk's slash, combined with the stocky flesh shield of the two horses and two mules, neutralized his fall.

Segolena has been with Durand and Monk Kavanagh for dozens of days, and has been in contact with each other. At this time, seeing the tragic situation of Brother Kavanagh, Segolena also knew that it was serious, and his two blue eyes were already full of tears, and he said intermittently: "Pull ...... Pull out the ......" Brother Kavanagh hurriedly stopped: "Don't, if I move, the wound bursts, and I will die." Segolena nodded, and turned left and right around him, refusing to leave. Brother Kavanagh said, "Son, I have no luck, so go away quickly and find a way out." ”

Segolena stared at him and suddenly jumped away, flashing three times and disappearing without a trace. After a while, Segolena jumped back again, held a few handfuls of bright red berries in his hand, and said cheerfully: "You eat, you eat." Brother Kavanagh sighed, "This boy is such a good boy. He was already hungry and thirsty, so he took a handful of berries and prayed silently to the heavens before he stuffed them into his mouth one by one. He is a well-traveled dervishes, and it is common to eat and sleep in the open, and eating these handfuls of berries is enough to restore his spirit.

After eating the fruit, Brother Kavanagh looked around. They were at the bottom of a very deep valley, and the scenery in the valley was good. As far as the eye can see, it has covered a wide area, touching all green, the grass and trees are extremely abundant, there are both towering ancient trees on the top, and there are low shrubs lying below, scattered and covered, lush forests gathered, become a natural valley bottom forest foothills, birds and beasts want to come very much. There is also a babbling shallow stream that meanders along the edge of the forest, twisting and turning hundreds of times, which is really a fairyland out of the world.

It's just that the valley is surrounded by towering peaks and peaks, and there is not a single crack in the wall, as if a tight rock lock firmly encircles the valley, and the moss traces on it are difficult for even apes to climb - I don't know if there is a hole in the sky other than the eye. Brother Kavanagh looked around and had mixed joys and sorrows: if there was a way out of this deep valley, Segolena could certainly go out, and the Panther Prince could also follow the way in, but if it was a Jedi with no way, without his own help, Segolena would definitely not be able to escape. What can I think of to teach Segolena to get out of this valley?

Segolena was so naïve that he didn't know what the monk was suffering in his heart. He went to catch a fat grasshopper from the grass near the rock, tore off its head and wings, and handed it to Brother Kavanagh. The monk shook his head and refused to eat, so he shoved it into his mouth and chewed it on a very sweet expression. Brother Kavanagh's heart moved, this child was born and used to the wild life, and this desperate life was miserable to others, but he was familiar with it. Why did he bother to twist his nature, drive him to the world to be contaminated with dust, and pollute a good soul. Isn't it now readily available that many monasteries are also located in seclusion between the mountains and mountains to help clarify the soul?

Ever since he jumped off the cliff, Brother Kavanagh has been convinced that Segolena is a man of the grace of the Lord, and what a miracle it is that he will fall from a cliff more than a hundred feet and not die! God must have done this for an unspeakable purpose. Thinking of this, he felt that he was actually a guide for future saints, and his responsibility was born.

So Brother Kavanagh temporarily suppressed the idea of teaching Segolena to leave the valley, closed his eyes and recuperated in peace. This day passed in a blink of an eye, and he secretly used Xuangong, let the branches in his chest, and slept peacefully. In the early morning of the next day, Segolena brought some pine nuts and mushrooms, and scooped a hat of water from the cow leather hood given by Ronconi.

Three times a day, Segolena went to the valley forest to find something to eat for the Kavanagh monks, in addition to the mountain delicacies and some game. Segolena had a very high ability to catch birds, first lying at the bottom of the tree and not moving, and as soon as the bird flew low, he suddenly jumped up and made a difficulty, and his two thin legs stepped through the woods, changing several positions in succession, as swift as lightning, and often with a single blow, and the bird feathers were in his hands—Brother Kavanagh knew that his swift and strange body was actually practiced in this way.

Segolena offered a few wild meats, and knowing that the monks did not touch the meat, he deliberately found more berries, pine nuts, mushrooms, apricots, etc., and also dug up a few weeds with his own experience, and talked about the effect of nourishing blood and healing wounds. As for himself, he caught grasshoppers, ladybugs, and the like for meat, and occasionally caught a few gopher, and then bit open the fur and ate it raw.

Monk Kavanagh was nailed to the rock and could not move while leaning against the mountain wall, so he had to let Segolena make offerings. He saw that Segolena sometimes ate wild things, and his mouth was full of blood, and he always felt uncomfortable, and thought to himself that this child's hair and blood were barbaric and uncivilized, and besides, it was almost autumn, and the bottom of this valley was a little warmer than the outside world, and after all, it was also winter in Central Europe, and it would be extremely difficult to survive without a fire. Hating that he could not move freely, he beckoned Segolena to come to him and pointed to the inner pocket of his robe with his only right finger that could move.

Segolena stepped forward and pulled out a handful of flints. Brother Kavanagh said to him, "Child, make a fire. "Segolena was very clever, and he had in mind the way in which he had seen Ronconi and Brondeno making fires every day when they camped, and when he saw the flint, he whistled and cheered as if he had met a treasure. He did the same, picked up the flint and touched it, and sparks flew everywhere.

Then the monk said with a finger that he would let Segolena get meat later, and roast it on the fire first. Segolena tried grilling guinea pigs and was delighted to find them as delicious as Blandno's. He has a naughty mentality, and from then on, he also roasted day and night, not to mention his appetite, and regarded the vicinity of a rock kiln as a smoky barbecue shop. Brother Kavanagh also taught him to set up three or two fires near the cave, which could withstand the wind and cold in winter. The valley floor here is closed on all sides, and the mountain breeze is quite slight, so it should be enough to keep adding to the fire.

These days were quiet, and there was no movement from Osterhout, so I think it was impossible to enter. For thousands of years, this place has been so silent, if it weren't for the two of them falling from the sky, where would they have thought of such a place.

In the blink of an eye, winter has arrived, and the snow has fallen heavily, decorating the entire valley floor into a white world wrapped in heavy makeup, dripping into ice. Segolena goes to the forest every day to forage for food, which is far less than the autumn harvest, and often digs three feet into the ground to find plant roots or rabbit nests, which is very difficult. Brother Kavanagh saw that he was thinly dressed, had chilblains on his face, and had calluses on both hands and feet, and he could not bear it, but he could not help him. During this time, he was trapped in the rock cave, insisting on exercising exercises to heal his injuries every day, and he was finally able to barely maintain the smooth passage of the chest cavity Cancer Palace, and the flow of blood and qi was limited, except for his right hand and neck, the rest of his limbs were difficult to move, and the branches near his heart did not dare to move without permission. Often, a snowfall would turn Monk Kavanagh into a snowman with white eyebrows, which would have to wait for Segolena to return. The dervishes are the most penance, and this time Brother Kavanagh's practice is enough to be proud of his peers.

In the cold winter nights, Segolena lit a fire beside Brother Kavanagh and fell into a deep sleep against him. Brother Kavanagh looked at the sky and saw the stars, and suddenly thought that in the past few months, Segolena had done too much and said too little, often unable to speak, and communicated with each other only by eyes, green whistles, and a few simple words, so that communication was inconvenient. What's more, if such a bright young man does not teach him some knowledge of the civilized world, it is really a tyrannical thing. The missionaries were good teachers, but when he saw the uncut jade, how could he not be itchy and carve for a while.

From then on, whenever he had free time, Brother Kavanagh taught Segolena some knowledge, starting with the most elementary languages. He takes the Bible as the outline, starting from the book of Genesis to the end of the book of Revelation, and explains each sentence in detail, from words to words, from words to sentences, from sentences to paragraphs, first to grammar, and then to the subtle meanings, grammar and theology. At the same time, he had Segolena recite the Gospel in large sections every day to sharpen his speech.

In addition to theology, the Friar Cavanaphne occasionally spoke of secular politics in the Holy See, and especially of the martyrdom of Avignon. More than 100 years ago, King Philip IV of France had a bad relationship with Pope Boniface V, sent troops to Rome, and forcibly moved the entire Holy See from Rome to Avignon, France. Later, the wave of calls for the return of the Holy See to Rome grew, and Rome and Avignon each had a master, and the synod elected another one, and finally it became a situation of three popes. Finally, a tenacious saint of great wisdom appeared, who devoted himself to the unification of the Holy See, and finally made the three emperors depose or resign, and the decree was unified, and he also ascended the throne as Martin V. Brother Cavanagh was a man of great orthodoxy and often sighed: "Rome is almost a century away." I don't know if I will be able to see the unity of the saints in my lifetime. ”

In addition to the Bible, Brother Kavanagh also talked about other subjects, such as history, poetry, literature, mathematics, science and technology, humanities, and folk stories. Brother Kavanagh was a man of great knowledge and a man of many books, and Segolena was an intelligent and eclectic man who absorbed all of this knowledge. In the long winter night, the master and apprentice taught smoothly and learned happily, and they were happy with each other, but they did not feel that the harsh winter was very difficult.

When the spring flowers bloomed the following year, Segolena had made great progress in both his mind and speech, and the mountains and wilderness on his body were less childish, and there were more traces of wisdom in his ice blue eyes. It takes more than ten years of maturity for others to accumulate, and he has begun to take shape within a winter. Now that Brother Kavanagh is like a finger, he only needs to give verbal instructions, and Segolena can understand and draw inferences from others, and make rapid progress.

What is even more gratifying to Brother Kavanagh is that Segolena was inspired by the Bible and has been taught a lot, and he has undiminished love for the monk and a strong faith in God.

Segolena had taken a closer look around the valley and confirmed that it was indeed a Jedi, and that there was not a single crevice left in the mountains. The entrance to the stream was a waterfall that cascaded down from the peak, crossed the valley floor, and then drained into an underground cavern, which was unusable. Brother Kavanagh felt that God had his own opinions, and that mortals did not need to guess about it, so he extinguished his heart and lived with Segolena every day.

On this day, Segolena said to Brother Kavanagh, "Why don't you take off your robe and wash it?" The monk's robe, which had been tattered and dirty after a winter, nodded in agreement. Segolena carefully avoided the branches that pierced his chest, and peeled off his robe, layer by layer, and was halfway through it, when suddenly there was a "snap", and a book fell from his robe onto the grass.

Segolena rejoiced, "Is it a book?" Although he had learned a great deal of knowledge, he had never seen a real book, and occasionally he heard Brother Kavanagh talk about parchment, papyrus, linen paper, silk and so on. At this time, a book fell out of thin air, and I was naturally pleasantly surprised.

Brother Kavanagh told him to pick up the book and look at it carefully, and it was the book of the Proverbs of the Two Serpents, which Sir Durand had entrusted to him, and his heart could not help but move. He had been dry for a long time, his triplegia was paralyzed, and he could only move slightly with his right hand, and when teaching Segolena the language, he could only dictate it, listen and speak, but he could not read and write but could not write a book, and he could not write and demonstrate by hand. As a result, Segolena is now fluent in Latin, Italian, French, and English, but he doesn't know a single word.

Since the Proverbs of the Two Serpents was written by Hippocrates, it must have been written in ancient Greek. Ancient Greek and Latin are of the same origin, and they are all connected. Although Brother Kavanagh was afraid that the author of this book was an idolater, on second thought, Segolena was so strong in his faith that I only taught reading and writing in this book, and there was no problem with it. So he summoned Segolena to him, spread it out before him, and prayed in his heart: "Sir Durard, you have a spirit in heaven, and you should know that I am not a person who steals books and peeps at myself, but that I am not a man who wants to train this child into a great sage, and I must not borrow it." ”

Segolena gently rubbed the writing, overjoyed. This "Proverbs of the Two Serpents" is of sheepskin texture, counting dozens of pages, and they are collected into a single volume. His's handwriting on it is vivid, the ink marks are faint, and the edges are quite moth-eaten, apparently for a long time, but unfortunately only a few hairy edges remain on the last page, which has obviously been torn off.

Brother Kavanagh was so learned that the ancient Greek could not overwhelm him. He finished reading a page, pondered it, and then asked Segolena to look at it and explain it in his mouth. Unexpectedly, the words in this martial arts book are extremely profound and difficult, and the words are exquisite, and they are all secrets of internal learning. Hiss picks up the most important places to talk about, and omits the rest. When ordinary people read it, they will only feel that the language is vague, there is no chapter at all, and it is like a book from heaven, let alone an ignorant child of Segolena.

Brother Kavanagh originally only wanted to use this book to give Segolena literacy, but the text of the Wudian was so obscure that it was impossible to talk about literacy without understanding its meaning, and in order to understand its meaning, it was necessary to explain the origin of internal learning. Interlocking, no one can be missed. Fortunately, he was quite proficient in internal studies, and he knew the context of the movement of the breath in his chest, and after repeated speculation, he tried to use the mental method of the Gospel of Matthew to fill in the points that Hiss omitted one by one, connecting them into lines, explaining the order, and then giving them to Segolena.

So Segolena listened to Brother Kavanagh explain the Gospel of Matthew every day, then explained the meaning of the words in the martial arts with the essentials of the gospel, and then identified the pronunciation of the ancient Greek words in the martial arts one by one—so that he knew what the twenty-four Greek letters were born like. Such a profound and shallow teaching is really putting the cart before the horse, and it has never been heard of since ancient times. Xi Shi I's hard work has become a literacy textbook for Huangkou Zhizi, I don't know how he will have an expression if he has knowledge under the spring, and Segolena uses the "Two Snake Proverbs" martial arts dictionary to enlighten literacy, and can be regarded as the first person in the ages.

It took more than half a month to read through the book, another two or three months to break it down word by word, and Brother Kavanagh spent most of his time explaining the basic concepts of the inner exercises. In the blink of an eye, summer had begun, the grass and insects were chirping, Segolena was not allowed to play, the reading of the Bible had been interrupted, and apart from daily prayer and the necessary food gathering, all the old and young devoted all their energy to this book of Proverbs.

Brother Kavanagh's original intention was only to use this book to teach reading and writing, but unexpectedly, the more profound the Xi's martial arts were profound, and the more he studied himself, the more obsessed he became, and although he kept his oath not to cultivate, he couldn't help but always want to explore the roots. Later, he had forgotten about reading and writing, and was contemplating the mysteries of the book of Proverbs. Segolena listened and learned a lot, and sometimes tried his methods, and the monk was glad to see that his views on Proverbs were put into practice to prove whether they were correct or false, so he also showed him the tricks of the exercises according to the Gospel of Matthew.

With this kind of learning, Segolena has unknowingly cultivated the superior internal strength of the Xi clan and the Holy See, but he still doesn't know it.

Hippocrates is a great master of the Greek generation, and he learned classical martial arts from him, and he has entered a new realm. He gathered the achievements of his predecessors and created the theory of the four liquids, which is the fundamental truth of internal strength, and he will leave it to future generations. He said that there are four fluids in the human body, namely black bile, yellow bile, blood, and mucus, which correspond to the four elements of wind, fire, water, and earth, and the four states of heat, cold, dry, and wet. Only when the human body is balanced with four fluids, the four elements are harmonized, and the four states are alternated, can there be a supreme realm of great gods and wonders.

It's just that these four fluids are all over the human body, and they belong to the 144 star natal points of the zodiac, which are implicated in each other and have mutual influences. In addition, the four states are constantly circulating, the four elements are born and there are grams, and there are different changes according to the day, and the five stars run the zodiac palaces, each with its own taboos. It is the way of balancing the four liquids, which can be said to be ever-changing, and there are many clues. How to adjust the balance of the four fluids is really the key to the internal strength of the heart method.

The theory of the four liquids has been prepared in the medical dictionary of "Proverbs of the Two Snakes", and it has been circulated in the world, and everyone knows it. However, the book only deals with the principles and does not say anything about how the balance should be achieved. Therefore, for more than 1,000 years, all the schools and factions of Europa have had to figure it out on their own, and each has developed its own set of methods and opinions, each with its own ingenious differences, all of which are regarded as secrets that cannot be passed on and are not easily revealed.

And what is hidden in this martial book of "Proverbs of the Two Serpents" is Hippocrates' own way of using the balance of the four liquids. Hiss himself was reticent and concise, and many of his opinions were even disdainful of explanations, making them difficult to understand. Saladin the Great had read this book by chance, but he couldn't understand it, so he sighed: "Under the fame, it is actually difficult to deserve it, which is as smooth and beautiful as my Qur'an." And he left it behind.

If someone wants to comprehend the essence of the martial arts, he must be proficient in the principles of internal strength, and he can only understand it thoroughly by filling in the narration next to Xi's text, and if he is proficient in internal strength, he must be a master of his own generation, and he has his own set of balanced theories of cultivation. Imagine where in the world there are people who are extremely proficient in internal learning, but have no internal strength? For more than 1,000 years, no one has been able to do their best and achieve divine skills.

Who would have thought that this would be the case at the bottom of this valley of the Codrenispo. Brother Kavanagh was pierced through his chest by a branch, and he was full of internal learning, but he could only talk about it without practicing; Segolena had no internal strength at all, like a blank sheet of paper, and there was no stagnation or prejudice in practicing the Hish martial arts. In addition, the Gospel of Matthew is flat, keeping a solid foundation, and practicing together with the Xi's martial arts, so that Segolena will not go crazy due to the sudden entry into the hall due to internal strength.

Spring and autumn rotate, cold and summer alternate, and seven years have passed in the blink of an eye. Brother Kavanagh and Segolena had long been accustomed to living peacefully at the bottom of this valley, and they were not feeling bored. Segolena built a small grass hut on the head of Brother Kavanagh to shelter him from the wind and rain, and dug a small ditch to bring the stream to the house, not forgetting to plant a few daisies along the side of the ditch. He didn't have any tools in his hands, and he could break wood and rock with a single move, but it was far better than any farm implement.

After years of training in the wild, and the magical effect of the Xi's martial arts, Segolena has become a young man with blond hair, his limbs are extremely thin, but his eyes are like electricity, and his internal strength is full. Brother Kavanagh had been sitting under the rock for seven years, unmoved, withered like wood, and the branch was stuck in his chest, and new flesh had already grown at the edge of the wound, so that it grew in his body—the branch that did not die, and the end that came out of his chest gave birth to green shoots every spring. Brother Kavanagh's blood flowed through the narrow passages of the Cancer Palace, and it never deteriorated or improved. Segolena tried to cut off the branches, but the move was so dangerous that he didn't dare to do it.

On this day, as usual, the two of them studied the Xi's martial arts in the afternoon. This martial arts book is indeed a rare book, a parchment scroll of more than ten pages, they have chewed repeatedly in the past few years, and there is always a new experience.

Segolena sat down beside the monk and turned the last page, and Brother Kavanagh said slowly: "Blood is water, the essence of flow, and yellow bile is fire, the essence of storage." The two are the most difficult to reconcile. If you can break through the barrier between water and fire, the static pole flows, and the flow pole is hidden, and the cycle repeats, bringing out the balance of the whole body, and you can improve the realm. After reading it, he sighed: "This water and fire are considered to be-for-tat and irreconcilable by all generations. It is based on the way that each family takes the path of 'avoiding its edge and doing its own thing'. Hippocrates actually said that he could break through the barrier of the second liquid, which is really incredible!"

He flicked the pages of the book, pointed to a row of small characters in the space at the end, and said, "You see, Hippocrates has sandwiched a sentence next to this passage: 'I have a wonderful method on how to get through the two liquids of water and fire, but it is too narrow here to write. So he had a solution, maybe it would be written on the last page of the defect. I don't know what his method is, it's really curious. Those who practice martial arts, if they practice to that realm, can they be called Dacheng. ”

Segolena said: "Teacher, that night I also tried to flow the blood of my whole body through the Cancer, the Taurus, and finally gathered in the Maiden and the yellow bile. It's just that the two liquids meet, and I immediately have unbearable abdominal pain, and I have to run out to pull a big bubble of to feel comfortable. "He and Brother Kavanagh spent their days and nights like father and son, and spoke straightforwardly and without scruples.

Brother Kavanagh couldn't help but wonder: "The maid belongs to the stomach, and the moon happens to enter the palace of the zodiac maiden in the middle of the night, and the yin is extremely strong. Naturally, it is because the two liquids compete with each other and destroy the stomach. This is harmful to your body, so you should not try it lightly in the future, and you must consult with me. Segolena said: "Sometimes I just think about it in my heart, and the breath in my body flows naturally, and I can't stop it at all. Brother Kavanagh pointed to the ditch in front of the door with his hand in his hand, and said, "You are still inexperienced, and you are not proficient in the art of controlling qi. Segolena had an understanding, stared at the ditch for a long time, and said happily: "Yes! Yes! Internal force is water, and all kinds of moves are ditches. Brother Kavanagh smiled silently, apparently accustomed to his disciple's inference. Segolena added: "It's just a canal to resist water, after all, it's a bit old-fashioned. If we can make it happen when we are facing the enemy, and if we can make a temporary decision, won't it be even more difficult for the opponent to figure it out?"

When Brother Kavanagh heard this, his face changed slightly, and he sighed and said, "Is there an opponent in the valley, Segolena, do you actually want to go to the world outside the valley?" He and his teacher had always talked about everything, but they didn't know what to say. Brother Kavanagh saw his distress in his eyes, and smiled: "You were a simple and ignorant child in the mountains, who did not care for the night, but now that you are educated, your mind has been opened to learning, and your horizons are naturally different from before. There is a great sage in Arezzo who once wrote a poem: "Where there is knowledge, there must be thought, and if there is thought, there must be suffering, and if there is suffering, there must be movement, and this life is constant." In the book of Ecclesiastes of the Bible, it is said, "For for there is much wisdom, there is much sorrow." He who increases knowledge increases sorrow. It is not surprising that human nature is so well known before I taught you the first letter. ”

Segolena hurriedly knelt on the ground and said in a whimpering voice: "I'm just curious, the teacher treats me like a mountain, how can I abandon you." Brother Kavanagh raised his right hand slightly, motioned for him to get up, and said, "I have to blame you." For example, if a blind man is placed in a dark room, it is not unpleasant, but if one day he regains his sight and remains in the dark room, it is torture. Your condition, like that of the blind man who has regained his sight, is the time to break out of the house. Segolena listened to him, bowed his head and remained silent. Since studying with Kavanagh, his horizons have gradually opened, and his yearning for the outside world has increased day by day. At this time, the teacher said something in his heart, and his heart was greatly disturbed.

Brother Kavanagh raised his head and looked at the top of the mountain in the distance through the thatched roof, and his face welled up with infinite emotion, and said: "Seven years ago, you and I fell from the top of the cliff and did not die, which can only be said to be a miracle, but now that you have the intention of being born, it must also be arranged by God." In and out, you have changed from an ignorant wild boy to an unswerving believer, which shows that the life of the past few years has been very profound, and how ingenious God's plan is! ”

Segolena's devotion was not inferior to that of Brother Kavanagh, and he hurriedly fell to the ground and prayed silently. When the prayer was over, Brother Kavanagh called him to his side and said, "This is a valley, I have thought carefully, the only way out is between this stream, and you may wish to explore the underground caverns of Na in a few days, and you may be able to gain something." Segolena burst into tears, and his hands just hugged the monk's thin body: "I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving." Brother Kavanagh reluctantly raised his right hand to touch his blonde hair, and said softly: "God has revealed to you that you must have a mission to fulfill." How can you neglect your duties for my sake?"

Segolena suddenly thought of something, raised his face and said happily: "Teacher, why don't you also go and practice the Proverbs of the Two Snakes." With the wisdom of the teacher, we will definitely be able to find a way to reverse the qi and blood, pull out the branches, and then we can leave together. Brother Kavanagh laughed dumbly: "Silly boy, not to mention that this branch has become one with my flesh and blood, and there is no way to separate unless the Holy Son is reborn, even if there is a way in the Book of Proverbs, I cannot cultivate." I swore to your father, and I could not break my word. ”

Segolena stubbornly said, "If I leave, you can't move, teacher, how can you live alone? In short, as long as the teacher is here, I will never leave you alone in the valley!" ”

Since then, the master and apprentice have never said anything about Izugu, and their lives are still going on as usual. But before he knew it, Brother Kavanagh's face became darker, he ate less, and the interval between his words was longer. Segolena thought that the teacher would no longer force him out of the valley, and he was overjoyed, but he didn't notice anything unusual. Only occasionally in the dead of night, when his head rests on the cobblestone, he can't help but look at the bright moon in the mountains and sigh, imagining what the flower world outside the valley looks like.

More than half a month has passed. On this day, Segolena found a wild honeycomb in the depths of the forest, and as if he had found a treasure, he stung and brought a handful of yellow honey, hurriedly peeled a piece of bark and filled it, and brought it back to the teacher to enjoy. As soon as he entered the hut, Segolena saw Brother Kavanagh's eyes closed, his face gloomy, and he sat like a statue under the stone wall. Segolena was taken aback, rushed over to probe his snort, felt a hidden breath, and hurriedly pressed his palm against the monk's vest according to the usual teacher's instructions, and a wave of heat poured into the Cancer Palace and Libra Palace, descending all the way down to the ankle Pisces along the centaurs, Capricorns, and vases.

A week after the internal energy flowed through the ecliptic, Segolena felt that the internal force in the teacher's body was very weak, like a pool of stagnant water, and he often had to desperately urge to arouse a little repercussion, so he had to exert force again and again, one internal strength after another. Fortunately, he is young and strong, and he is a child, and his internal strength is very pure. After a long time, Brother Kavanagh's throat rolled and he let out a long exhale, and then slowly opened his eyes. Segolena pulled his palm, already sweating.

After resting for two candles, Segolena struggled to get up, mixed some hot water with honey, and went to feed the teacher. Brother Kavanagh ate some honey water, his complexion was less restored, and his eyes were slightly brighter. Segolena said with concern: "Teacher, are you feeling better?" Brother Kavanagh's voice was still weak, and he said in a trembling voice: "It's okay, if you hadn't rescued me in time, I'm afraid I'd have ...... Ahem. Segolena was both scared and happy, and held his right hand and asked, "What happened to the teacher just now?"

Brother Kavanagh let out a long sigh, "This is not a temporary illness. The flow of my qi and blood is all maintained by the passage of the Cancer Palace in the chest, you know that. About a year ago, the trail began to shrink, and no matter how much I tried to manage it, it would not help, and sometimes it would even be cut off. At the beginning, this problem occurred once a month or two, and in the past few months, it has become more and more dangerous, and the passage of Shicai suddenly disappeared without a trace, if it were not for you to exert external force to force it away, I would not be able to protect it. ”

Segolena said: "Since this is the case, then I will help the teacher every day in the future." Brother Kavanagh shook his head and said, "It is not right to walk by the way, I have gone against the sky, and it is a fluke to live for seven years." Your external force can only cure the target for a while, but it can't cure the root cause, so it's better to save some effort. After that, he closed his eyes, and Segolena didn't dare to ask any more questions.

Since then, he has not been half a step away from the teacher. The monk later committed three more crimes, and Segolena tried his best to save him, only to feel that each time it took more effort than the last, and that the recovery time was getting longer and longer. He was infinitely worried, but he was helpless.

On this day, Segolena exerted his internal strength for the teacher until dusk, exhausted, and when twilight fell, he lay down beside the monk and fell into a deep sleep. With his back to the rocks, Brother Kavanagh observed the heavens through the cracks in the grass hut as usual. It is the night clouds and light wind, the moon and stars, Monk Kavanagh saw all kinds of constellations lying among the vast stars, the treasure **, the chest opened, the original sluggish breath could not help but be smooth, and the heart was infinitely admired for the wonder of the Creator.

Suddenly, a meteor streaked through the night, drooped to the northwest, and disappeared without a trace. Brother Kavanagh was stunned for a moment, then whispered to himself, "God is above, and the servant knows your heart!" There was no joy or sorrow between his brows, and he was extremely peaceful, and he barely drew a cross with his right hand.

He woke up Segolena softly, and Segolena replied that the teacher was sick again, rubbed his sleepy eyes, and hurriedly got up to ask for luck. Brother Kavanagh waved his hand lightly, motioned for him to sit down, and said softly, "My limit is near, listen carefully, I have a few words to explain." ”

Segolena's eyes widened, and he didn't know how the teacher suddenly said this. Brother Kavanagh said, "When it is right for me to observe the heavens at night, the apocalypse has come, and soon I will be called by the grace of the Lord to tell you something." Hearing this, Segolena exclaimed: "Where is this kind of thing, it is clear that the teacher wants to drive me out of the valley, so you hurt yourself and deliberately say such things to fool me!" He was in a hurry, and he didn't care about the teacher, and his tone was very excited.

Brother Kavanagh said, "As a devout believer, how could I commit such a crime as suicide?" He calmed Segolena and said slowly: "Seven years ago, God did not want me to die, but to help you become an adult, and after seven years, God did not want me to live, but wanted you to come out of the valley." Just now, I realized these truths. It turned out that the aggravation of illness over the past year was all hinted at by God. I am still in the province, and I am really worthy of the name of the dervishes. ”

Segolena threw herself into the teacher's arms and burst into tears. Brother Kavanagh smiled and said, "I have been self-conscious, and I have not dared to exceed half a point of law over the years, and I have been very careful in my lessons. What is there to be sad about this time in heaven, perhaps in heaven with Ambrosius, Augustine, Benedict and other sages?"

When Segolena heard this, she cried even more. Brother Kavanagh gently pushed him away, and his tone became stern: "After I go, you will be born out of the valley." There are three things you must do your best to accomplish at that time, or I will not be able to see them in heaven. Segolena wiped away tears and said he was listening.

Brother Kavanagh said, "The first thing is this book of the Proverbs of the Two Serpents. This book was sent by your father, Durand, to a certain big man in Suceiva to save the fortunes of France. It's a pity that he was killed by a traitor and couldn't finish it. On this trip, you must first go to Suchava to investigate the root cause, deliver this book, and fulfill your father's vow. Although Segolena and Durand have not been together for a long time, they have a very deep relationship, and after listening to the teacher's advice, they naturally agreed. The monk said: "This second thing, your father and Hu Cong Bronold both died at the hands of the leopard prince Osterholt of England, and there are also the four murderers of the magic sound siren Abidella and Poland, these people have a great enmity with you for killing their father, you must remember it firmly and do not forget it for a while." After a pause, he added: "Your father was a royal guard of Valois in France, and he was loyal to the country, and you should also regard France as the motherland." Osterholt is the great man of England, and both Yu Gong and Yu have a reason to duel him. It's just that this person's martial arts are extremely high and very insidious, and if you are not very sure, you must not fight with him. Segolena said hatefully: "I can't wait to eat its flesh and sleep its skin, why should the teacher say more!"

Brother Kavanagh asked him to fetch his chestnut cane, and with a trembling right hand he rubbed the five knots on the staff, before he said, "This third thing is related to me. I am one of the five elders of the dervishes, and you can show this staff to any of the dervishes and you can get in touch with the Sangha. The dervishes are all over the world, and it will be very convenient for you to do things. His voice then turned lower: "In addition to this, I have another identity that no one has ever known: I belong to the Holy See, and I am the descendant of the Gospel of Matthew among the Twelve Apostles of the Court. On that day, His Majesty Urban VI was determined to restore the Holy See and unite the various factions. The Dervishes had been in dispute for many years, the Franciscans and the Dominicans, and the Church sent me to infiltrate the Dervishes as an ascetic and to supervise them—a matter that no one knew of except me and the Pope. This time you go out of the valley, and you must bring back to the present Pope Martin V what happened to my travels, lest this mission be lost in obscurity...... Alas, my lifelong wish is to see the Holy See return to Rome with my own eyes, and now it will not be possible......" After a pause, the monk seemed to remember something, and then said: "Only one point, if you meet a nun named Tessa, you must avoid it, you must not fight with her, and you must not reveal the slightest message about me, can you remember?"

Segolena nodded again and again, he had heard the name of the Pope for a long time, and when he thought of seeing it with his own eyes, he couldn't help but be very excited, he suddenly thought about it, and said with a hesitant expression: "It's just the Pope's Venerable One, how can I see it?" Brother Kavanagh laughed without saying a word, and scooped a little water with his right hand in the ditch beside him, and carried the power of the gospel, and put a drop of water on his forehead, chest, and shoulders. The water marks did not fade, leaving a shallow mark on the skin, slightly purple, and could not be seen without careful attention.

Brother Kavanagh raised his hands and raised his head to heaven and said, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned." This is a sentence from the Gospel of Matthew, and his voice is raised and his words become elegant: "Thou art set apart from the world, Christ in thee, and thou in Christ." The Twelve Apostles of the Court have been passed down from generation to generation, and only those who have been baptized by the previous generation themselves are truly descendants. Now that you have been baptized by me and have been sealed, you are the one hundred and fifty-second generation of the orthodox disciple of Matthew. From now on, thou shalt perform thy duties with great propriety, prudence of the Holy Church, advocacy of the power of God, uphold the great virtue of Christ, preach the mercy of the Blessed Virgin, and take the safety of the Holy See as your responsibility, and die and martyrdom.

Segolena hurriedly fell to the ground, saying "can hold", trembling all over, unable to help himself. He bowed his head for a long time, and when he saw that the teacher did not come back, he looked up. I saw Brother Kavanagh smiling on his lips and his eyes slightly closed, and a generation of masters passed away suddenly.

This shocked Segolena's soul was scattered, and he pounced on the back of the teacher's heart with both palms, and vomited with waves of internal strength. These internal strengths are mud cows into the sea, and when they enter the monk's body, there is no sound at all. He was crying and exercising, but the monk was still as unhappy as a dead well. Segolena waited until his lamp ran out, when he screamed and fell to the ground.

The next day he woke up, saw the body of Brother Kavanagh, and knowing that the deceased could not be traced, he wept again, plucked the teacher's body from the branches, burned it to ashes, picked it up one by one, wrapped it in cloth, and buried it on a sunny hillside.

When it was all done, Segolena returned to the hut. The branch was still there, and the middle part had been in the monk's body for so long that it had turned black. When he saw things and thought about people, tears flowed out again, and that night he hugged the branches of the tree, just as he had hugged the teacher's arm for seven years, and fell into a deep sleep. Segolena was originally unhindered and innocent, until today, he never knows the death of the dead.

Because the last exercise was too exhausted, he stayed in the valley for another three days before he recovered. On the fourth day, he wrapped the Proverbs of the Two Serpents in an oiled hare skin, tied it around his waist, took the short sword given by Ronconi, and wore an emerald whistle, and came to the end of the stream.

At the end of the stream is a pool. He had surveyed here several times, and had gone into the water to explore, but the bottom of the pool was not very deep, and he could feel the moss at the bottom of the pool after a few swims, and there was a cave on the side that was obliquely walking, and the water was drained from there. It is not known how deep and long the water hole is and where it leads.

Segolena had been prepared for a month earlier when he dug a new channel at the mouth of the pond to another low-lying area, and moved a boulder to put next to it. At this time, he first opened the earthen embankment between the new river channel and the mouth of the pool, and then secretly used his divine power to pry the boulder into the entrance of the pool with a wooden stick. As a result, the stream was blocked by boulders, so it was diverted to a low-lying area, and there was no more water to replenish in the pool.

Segolena estimated that it would take half a day for the water to drain from the pool, and it would take a day for the stream to fill the low-lying area and overflow back to the mouth of the pool, so he had half a day to enter the water hole to find out.

Since the boulder was sealed, the water level in the pool has been decreasing. Towards noon, the last few streams of water at the bottom of the pool turned into a small whirlpool, making a purring sound, and finally revealing a black water hole. Segolena knew that if he couldn't find it from the other side of the water hole in the past half a day, no matter how strong his internal strength was, it would be a dead end. He prayed to God, then lit a torch and jumped into the pool without hesitation.

The water hole was not large, barely enough for Segolena to bow forward, and the moss inside was extremely slippery. Holding a torch in one hand and a wall in the other, Segolena walked slowly, touching a narrow place, and even crawling forward. The cave was so quiet that only the sound of water droplets could be heard, and it was clear to the ears, and there was darkness beyond the firelight, and even Segolena couldn't help but wonder.

I don't know how many times I have walked, this water hole seems to be endless, and the fork in the road is high and low, and there are thousands of branches. Segolena made several mistakes and had to go back the way he came, wasting a lot of time. The torches had long since been burned, and Segolena simply closed his eyes, touched the cave wall with both hands, and walked over blindly with only his instincts.

When a person stays in the dark for a long time, his sense of hearing becomes sharper. Segolena was groping for it, when he heard a rustling in his ears, very low and very fine, as if there were trillions of ants gathering together, and when he listened carefully, his surprise was not trivial. It turned out that the stream had filled the low-lying area and overflowed back into the pool, and the hole would soon be filled again.

Startled, Segolena walked quickly, but his eyes were still as black as thick ink, and he had not dissolved a single cent. The water under his feet was growing rapidly, and it had already reached his waist, and in a few moments, it had reached his neck. Segolena suddenly felt another fork in the road ahead, low on the left and high on the right, and without thinking too much, he dodged into the wide entrance on the right. After walking dozens of steps, the palm of his hand touched the rocky wall, and there was not a single gap, it was actually a dead end! At this time, the tide was bursting, and the water finally did not pass above his head.

With her superb internal skills, Segolena can hold her breath for a long time, and the whole person can be temporarily safed when immersed in water. It's just that there is no way forward, and the way back is slim, no matter how strong the internal strength is, it is just to live for a while, what is the meaning. Segolena curled up in the water, thinking that life was hopeless, that he had just seen the wisdom and wisdom of the matter, that he was going to die in such an ignorant water, and no one knew about it, and he could not help but feel sad that it was better to stay in the valley for the rest of his life.

The more he thought about it, the more sad he became, hoping that the teacher would suddenly come and save him from this black water abyss. After a short time, Segolena felt short of breath in his chest and his lungs burned, and he was extremely uncomfortable. Suddenly, he felt a sense of resentment towards God, and wondered why he didn't let him fall to his death when he fell off the cliff, and why he waited until now to accept people. As soon as he thought of this, he couldn't help but wave his arms desperately in the water to vent his anger. Segolena had been adjusting the rhythm of his breathing with his internal breaths, but his mind was in turmoil, and the cold water filled his mouth and nose in an instant. He suddenly felt a chill all over his body, and a sense of imminent death hit his heart, and his arms couldn't help but slam into the rock wall near the side.

Qi turns from the heart, and force and qi merge. I heard a boom, debris splashed everywhere, and the hard rock wall was smashed into a big crack by this desperate blow. The torrent of water carried Segolena out of the crack in the rock wall, and shot straight into the air, leaping into a silver waterfall. For a while, the rainbow spit out, and the water flashed gold.

Note 1: Hippocrates' Proverbs does have its own book, and most of it talks about the way to maintain health. He once put forward the four-fluid balance theory, which believes that there are four fluids in the human body, and a healthy person needs to achieve the balance of these four fluids. As for the operation of the four liquids to promote internal strength, it is nothing more than the words of a novelist.

In the Middle Ages in the West, astrology was popular, and its theoretical basis was to use the zodiac signs to correspond to the twelve parts of the human body, and to explain the pathological causes with astrological signs. When administering treatment to the human body, it is necessary to observe the changes of the heavens, depending on the operation of the planets such as the sun, the moon, fire, water, earth, wood, the king, the king of heaven, the king of the sea, and the king of Hades in the ecliptic palaces.

In later generations, there were Fermat who followed the predecessors, and the book was guessed in the header, and the world thought that they could, but they did not know that Xi's was written. Since the author's beginning, the name is correct.

Note 2: This chapter returns to the sentence of Bai Letian's "Words": "The jade test should be burned for three days, and the material must wait for seven years." ”
