Chapter Seventy-One: The World of Water

Julius and Rei fall into the lake, and the water reaches their heads. When she first entered the water, Lei was a little uncomfortable and didn't even open her eyes. After a while, she realized that she was not breathing in any way, and when she dared to open her eyes, she saw Julius who was also falling like her. The water didn't affect her eyes, but the colors in her vision were a little strange and unreal, and there were a lot of bubbles that came out of her and Julius' noses and mouths.

Everything you see in the underwater world is very different from what you usually are, and it's an experience that neither Julius nor Rei has ever experienced. King's Castle was a city by the sea—or rather, a kingdom by the sea—but Rei didn't have much opportunity to go to the seaside, and the exhaustion of making ends meet had consumed most of her energy, and she couldn't possibly do anything like wandering the harbor and docks. What's more, these places need the labor of an adult man, not a little girl like her.

Watching bubbles bubble up her nose and mouth is a fun thing for Rei, and it's even more amazing to look at Julius on the other side. It was pitch black in the lake, no different from above, they could only see what was around them, and they could no longer see anything farther away.

The scenery inside the underground lake didn't seem to be any different from the above, and the lake was cold, so Rei reached out and touched her arm. It's not the same as being stuck to your skin by the cold, damp air, it's just that the air turns into a liquid, and it's just as cold.

Rei looked down at Lulunaka, who had jumped into the underground lake before she and Julius. Lulunaka's head wasn't facing that, it was her feet facing Lei. She dived deeper with her head down, not trying to notice Julius and Rei behind her. Seeing Lulunaka's posture, Julius and Rei also began to adjust their bodies and follow Lulunaka in a more comfortable position. It's a bit uncomfortable to keep falling in a stumbling position, but if you change to a similar position to swimming, it feels much better.

Lulunaka became the fish in the lead, followed by Julius and Lei. As she continued downstream, Lulunaka pulled out two more glass bottles. This time, the bottle was no longer filled with a potion, but a liquid that emitted a brilliant fluorescence. It doesn't look like this liquid is for people to drink, and Lulunaka took this out at this time, not to feed anyone to drink it, but to use it for lighting. She left one of them in the water, and the two people who followed behind her just happened to crash into the glass bottle. Even if he didn't need to speak, Julius understood and took the slender bottle in his hand, and after thinking about it, he handed the lighting bottle to Lei.

Rei took the bottle and hung it around her waist, as Lulunaka had done in front of her. In this dark underwater world, there is more light, and Julius and Rei also see a completely different scenery. Until now, there was nothing but darkness under the underground lake, but now, because of the lighting, this dark world has completely changed.

In this wonderful world, everything is suspended - because it is full of water - those broken objects that do not see what they once looked and how they used to be, do not go up and down in the water, as if time has stopped. It's true that these tiny things don't move anymore, but the living things are still moving. Beside the three of them, there were a lot of fish swimming, and these fish had a set of creepy teeth, and the rows of teeth were dense and sharp, and when they were opened, they were larger than their bodies.

Julius and Rei recognized what kind of fish it was, and this strange fish could bite as long as it could gnaw on it, except that it didn't eat steel, if it was flesh and blood...... The tender and juicy flesh only takes a moment to be gnawed away.

Julius and Rey were so frightened that they couldn't even breathe because there weren't just one or two of them—around them, the fish had gathered together in such numbers that they had formed a moving wall that surrounded the three of them. Even the three of them were pointing towards the center, opening and closing as they swam. Even in the water, Julius and Rei felt like they heard the teeth clenching.

The only thing to be thankful for may be that these strange fish didn't really rush over and bite and devour them clean. But that didn't give Julius and Rei much peace of mind.

As for Lulunaka, who had been in front, there was no reaction, and the fish around her were as if they didn't exist.

Julius looked at the school of fish around him, and then at Lei, who was nervous beside him. He noticed that Rei's eyes were beginning to change again, his left eye seemed to be half painted, half of his eye was shining, and he could see half of the pupil erected, but the other side was no different from a normal eye.

He didn't understand why Rei had such a pair of snake eyes, but he knew at least one thing, Rei's eyes would turn into snake eyes due to some stimulus - maybe it was a life and death crisis, maybe it was fear, or both. But these are just Julius guesses. Julius pondered for a moment, then glanced at the schools of fish around him. He closed his eyes and began to think back to the deathmatch he had with the demon. The battle that cost him his life made Julius understand a lot of things, which seemed to be in his heart and in his physical memory, because after walking on the edge of death, these things did not boil with fire, and finally "surged" into his brain.

He closed his eyes and followed Lulunaka by feeling, his heart gradually calming down, even his own heartbeat became clearer, and his heart fluttered more and more, beating his eardrums hard.

Julius's body glowed with a pale green glow, which made Rei beside him look surprised. The light was not noticeable, and it turned into particles that spread around him, leaving a trail of light. This faint particle of light, like stars in the water, left a starry sky behind him.

This starry sky has dispersed the fish. The bloodthirsty fish no longer roamed around Julius and scattered, except for a scattered one or two.

For Julius and Leigh, the underwater world is so wonderful.
