Chapter 68: Escape and Pursuit I
Kilrivers' pale hair and shoulders on either side of his neck were dripping with rain, and from a distance, the outline of his body was faintly visible covered in a thin layer of mist.
Sir Vampire is still in a weak state, and his recovery ability is not enough to make him recover enough to allow him to return to battle, but he is not dying at this critical time, and the current situation is something that everyone never wants to encounter.
Arya, who had carried the Warlock Girl behind her, cried out at the first glance of Kilrivers' reappearance in her sight, and immediately realized that she had made a fool and wished she had put an extra hand over her mouth.
Not long ago, Finn lied to the pirate captain who stopped them that she and Lilith were under magical control, and when she shouted like this, the pirates blocking in front of everyone really showed a puzzled look on their faces, and the pirate captain's eyes on Finn quickly changed, and he obviously had doubts about what Finn had just said.
The two crimson pupils in Kilrivers' eye sockets were still a little flowery, and the vampire Sir had some ghosting from his damaged mind, and his vision seemed to be blurred as if he had entered water.
However, Killrivers didn't care about any of that at this point. He gritted his teeth and grinned, then raised his hand to Finn, and continued to incite the other pirates around him who did not know the truth to shout: "Brothers of the pirate group, this man killed your respected captain, and now he wants to use the weapon used by your captain to fool him around, you must not let him out of here!" β
Soon, Sir Vampire's words succeeded in drawing the pirates' attention from other places. The pirates glanced at Kilrivers with eyes from all directions, and after recognizing that Kilrivers was the guest who had been to Misty Island some time ago, they raised their heads and cast their eyes on Finn, who was standing on the side of the ship.
Finn was under the pressure of those gazes, his throat squirming invisibly from swallowing a cloud of saliva, but instead of panicking at the presence of Killrivers, he quickly thought of new ways in his mind, while making his expression as natural as possible.
Arroyo looked at the pirate horde in the port area, his heart pounding in his chest, feeling the smell of gunpowder in the air ignite an impending battle at any moment. Arya's heart was full of self-reproach, and although Finn didn't blame her, she knew that her actions had caused a lot of trouble for the group.
Raymond's temper was much more violent than Arroyo and Arya's, and the future young sword master saw that their disguise was about to be exposed by Killrivers, and immediately clenched his fists and wanted to use his weapon to take the lead in killing from here.
The future Sword Saint Youth took half a step forward, but was stopped by the young Paladin's outstretched hand.
Finn glanced sideways at the swordsman beside him, sending a calm signal to the latter, then raised the captain's saber in his hand, stood on the Black Sail Pirate Ship and pointed condescendingly at Kilrivers, and shouted in the same loud words: "He is the liar!" He's a cunning vampire who wants blood and tries to plot against the captain, and he should be the one we can't let go! β
As soon as the words fell, the tip of the scimitar in Finn's hand pointed straight at the center of Kil's brow through the night, and the pirates' eyes followed the direction of Finn's knife to Kilrivers.
The saber used by Jackson the Red Beard during his lifetime represented some of his majesty as a pirate captain, and although the pirates knew that Kir Rivers had been in contact with their esteemed captain for some time, they actually believed more in the captain's saber that Jackson used during his lifetime than they believed in the words of the vampire sir.
After all, Kilrivers is a dark aristocrat from a blood society, and there are many vicious people in the human realm, but not everyone is as fond of undead creatures as Redbeard Jackson.
The pirates' trust began to tilt toward Finn's side, and Arya's actions were temporarily forgotten by them.
Suddenly, at this very moment, a pirate rushed out of the cabin of the big ship with black sails. The pirate's face was full of panic, and he ran up the stairs of the cabin to the deck, shouting loudly, "The captain is dead!" The captain of the ship was killed! β
The pirate's panicked words came through the rain curtain from Class A to the ears of the other pirates.
The pirates' gaze at the vampire knight froze suddenly. They're a group of thieves who specialize in killing people and stealing goods, but that doesn't mean they're like some ogres in the wasteland.
They had a basic sense of logic, and they quickly realized the truth of the incident by making a slight connection between what Finn had said to them not long ago and the current situation.
The truth is that Finn lied to them.
"Don't waste your time, your enemy is the one who deceived you!" Finding that the pirates had finally turned their attention back to Finn in the form of hatred, Killrivers seized the opportunity to incite the bandits from Misty Isles to yell, "What are you waiting for? There are only a few of them, why don't you pick up their scimitars and kill that damn guy to avenge the captain?! β
In the middle of the night, Kilrivers's words were like a call to charge, and the pirates standing in the harbor in the rain were stunned for a second, and then finally rioted.
The pirate captain standing in front of Finn was the first to reveal his fierce face on his face. He angrily drew his scimitar from the scabbard at his waist, only to have his throat cut by Finn who threw Jackson's captain's saber before swinging it, and then fell to his death on the staircase leading to the deck of the Blacksail Greatship with a thud.
Finn threw the scimitar out of his hand, then removed the Whirling Blade from his back, picked up a sword and slashed it at the wooden ladder at his feet, the blade of the greatsword slicing the ladder with his terrifying power.
"My lord, what shall we do now?" Arroyo took out a pair of short swords hidden in the pirate's shirt and held them in his hand, and asked Finn with an anxious expression.
"Plans need to change on the fly." After splitting the staircase connecting the harbor to the deck, the young paladin reflexively slashed his sword at the entrance to the cabin, scraping the three pirates who ran out of the cabin over the deck of the pirate ship.
"Raymond, you go and clean them up, and block the door to the cabin by the way." After using the Wind Blade to knock down the three pirates on the deck, Finn rushed to the young swordsman beside him to give instructions on his next move, and at the same time tossed the empty pocket containing the latter's weapon to the latter.
Raymond took the empty pocket that Fain gave him, quickly took out his curved sword from it, said nothing, and then ran quickly in the direction of the cabin.
After that, Finn handed the Whistling Blade to his right hand, and with his left hand took Jackson's logbook from the empty pocket that was still on him, and said to the other two companions beside him, "Arya, you put Lilith down first, and then go with Arroyo to raise the sails, hurry!" β
"Raise the sails?" The elven girl was startled, "Hey, waitβFinn, what do you want to do?" β
"Sail the boat." Finn replied, "We're fleeing to the sea." β
As the words fell, he took two steps to the side, raised his sword and fell, and with a single blow he severed the rope that bound the anchor.
