Chapter 372: No One Sleeps Tonight
The last ship disappeared into the fog.
On the shore behind Fort Riptide, Kael'thas sits on a reef and gazes out at the dark ocean.
The city behind him was brightly lit, but it didn't attract his attention at all.
Crassus left Riptide Castle guilty, but the Red Dragon's words of refusal remained in the hearts of several leaders and kings.
The meeting ended unhappily, and although no one is saying anything about remorse, they will certainly be weaker in their execution.
Kael'thas was even a little afraid of the dawn.
He sat on the reef, dazed and helpless.
With him were several other elves.
Salorian and Lannathel sat quietly on the shore on either side, guarding his safety.
Liadline and Sylvanas stood behind Kael'thas.
The weakest priest's eyelids were already fighting, and despite her best efforts, her standing body was shaky.
Salorian said that Liadlin had trained hard during the day, and that she had rushed to his side in the evening after the incident.
"If you're tired, go to sleep"
Kael'thas spoke, and the cold voice woke up for Leadrin.
But the little priest shook his head in a panic.
"No, I'm not tired."
She replied with bloodshot eyes.
No one knows, in fact, Liadline didn't sleep last night because of something.
"Your eyes are red, go back!"
Sylvanas said to her coldly.
Liadline shook her head.
She gritted her teeth and just wouldn't go back.
"Why bother?"
Kael'thas sighed under his breath.
This sigh was heard by Liadeline. She looked at Kael'thas without looking back once.
"This is an order from His Majesty the King."
This little pastor said:
"Your Majesty asked me to protect Your Highness, so I can't leave."
Growing up, this was one of the best assignments Liadline ever received.
But Anastarian asked Liadline to protect Kael'thas and perhaps didn't expect much from her.
Salorian and Lannasel are the real defenders
And Liadrin, it should just be Anastarian's tool in case of emergency.
This little priest should understand, but she is still keen to carry out the superficial task.
[You can't protect me]
As much as Kael'thas wanted to speak to Liadrin, he didn't.
"Then please."
He said with a little sadness. He didn't even understand that it was to comfort Leadrin, or to comfort his own fearful heart
"Okay."
But the little priest replied with very spiritual words.
Has she always been so optimistic?
After years of separation, Kael'thas has forgotten what Liadline was.
He exhaled.
"Sylvanas!"
Kael'thas spoke suddenly.
"Yes."
Sylvanas stepped out.
"Go help me find Varian."
Kael'thas commanded:
"If you can, bring him here."
Sylvanas nodded and left.
Less than five minutes. Sylvanas walked out of Riptide with Varian.
There were also some Stormwind soldiers who followed.
ββ
Varian's look was also heavy.
He asked the soldiers to leave, and then sat down beside Kael'thas.
"What are you going to do?"
The human king didn't ask Kael'thas why he called him, and got straight to the point.
The reason Kael'thas called him. That's all it can be.
"I'm going to stop Akmund."
This time, Kael'thas didn't hesitate, and he looked directly at Varian. β¦,
"I can't let my country be destroyed!"
He didn't mention Lotharn, because in his heart, Quel'Thalas was the first.
Varian turned his head in a daze.
"You're pretty straightforward this time"
He smiled wryly, but the tense nerves on Varian's face relaxed a little.
"Sure enough, that's right."
He looked at the distant sky and said softly:
"This is like you, Your Highness Kael'thas, you are already like me"
Silent.
Kael'thas asked:
"Why do you feel that way?"
Varian smiled faintly:
"From the first meeting. I knew you were just like me. β
"I don't understand why, but you looked at me like you were looking at yourself."
"The two of us are both longing for our home and fighting for it."
Varian was ruined from a small country.
Kael'thas had no family before.
Both men have their own reasons, and as a result, they both double down on their newfound kinship.
Varian is against Lordaeron. And Kael'thas is against the elves
These two people, who share the same pain, are afraid of losing again.
This world is far more beautiful than the other, at least, there will be people in this world who will become family.
In the original world, once family affection is lost, it is difficult to get it back, at least. Kael'thas didn't get it backβthe complicated world was too cold for him.
There is no race as pure as elves anymore
"I want to save Lordaeron too."
Varian lowered his voice:
"No matter what the cost, I will protect Lordaeron and His Majesty Terenus."
He withdrew his gaze, touched the saber on his body, and added:
"I don't want Kalia and Arthas to become like me."
The young king had not yet received news of Terenus' death.
He was full of simple and persistent faith. Stood up and said to Kael'thas:
"Come on, tell me your plans!"
The shining eyes told Kael'thas that the human king would help him.
He's going to help Lordaeron the same way he's going to help Quel'Thalas.
"Thank you."
Kael'thas laughed.
He stood up and thanked Varian.
"Then we must cheer up the kings and remove the influence of the red dragon."
Kael'thas narrowed his eyes.
Varian laughed.
"Okay. Let's disturb the sleep of those Majesties of the King, no one can sleep tonight! β
He and Kael'thas walked towards Fort Riptide.
Indeed, no one can sleep tonight
Alterac Mountains, where snowflakes drift in the air. Several embarrassed figures also set foot on this snowfield from the south.
The leader was a young female mage.
Wrapped in a cloak burned by the flames, with tears in her eyes, she gritted her teeth and walked towards the top of Alterac.
"Gianna-sama. Prill is down! β
A little mage hurried to report to her.
"There's no demon here, carry him forward."
Gianna turned to look at a child who had fallen to the ground, and after making sure he was okay, she continued to give the order to move forward.
After fighting with some little demons for a long time, the magic power in the bodies of these little mages has long been exhausted, and it is very rare to escape here.
If it weren't for the fact that Tarummir below bought some food to replenish his strength, these mages might not even have the ability to make magic bread.
But no matter what, they can't stop moving forward.
Gianna had to feel the Alterac Palace as fast as she could, and then tell Kalia about something important.
Alsace has become an enemy...,
As they escaped Dalaran, Gianna saw Arthas and the demons together from a long distance.
She didn't understand why. But it was known that Alsace was already an enemy.
Guilt, remorse
Every time she thought about the scene before Antonidas teleported her, Gianna couldn't help but complain to herself.
She harmed the whole Dalaran and the whole world
If it weren't for Gianna taking Arthas into the treasure trove of Violet Castle, none of this would have happened now!
[It's all because of me]
Gianna burst into tears.
The dark night, the snow-white road, and the cold wind blowing in through the tattered cloak were a taste she would never forget.
Tighten the cloak.
"Let's hurry!"
She whispered to some of the oil bottles behind her. Got it up to speed.
The icy snow poured in from her tattered shoes, making Gianna's heart go cold.
She swore that she would never jump to conclusions so easily.
And when the mage swore a change, north of Alterac, Mograine had finally reached a place where he could see Lordaeron.
He stood on the hillside on his horse, staring in amazement at the burning city in the distance.
What's going on?
What happened to Lordaeron?
Mograini didn't dare to hesitate. With his subordinates, he accelerated the speed of his horse and galloped north.
However, he soon encounters a group of people who are heading towards Alterac.
These people must have heard the demon attack and took refuge in Alterac.
"Lord Mograini!"
A paladin mingled with the people, greeting Mograini with joy.
"You are?"
Mograini sifted through his memories and did not have the impression of this paladin.
"I'm the Communications Officer of the Silver Hand."
The young paladin quickly stepped forward and saluted, then reported to Mograine:
"I came to find you on the orders of Lord Uther."
Uther?
Mograini solemnized.
"What's the matter? Could it be Lordaeron's thing? β
He stared at the paladin intensely.
The paladin nodded slightly hesitantly.
"We were out on a mission when we received word that a large number of demons had appeared in Lordaeron, and Lord Uther went to investigate the situation."
He reported, and then saluted:
"Lord Uther fears that the demons will attack Alterac together, so I asked you to go over and protect Her Highness Kalia."
He said very politely:
"You don't need to worry about Lordaeron, Lord Uther will rush over to defend His Majesty the King and pass on the information to you soon."
Mograini was finally relieved.
[With Uther here, Lordaeron should be fine.] γ
He thought so, but at the same time worried about Alterac's disciples.
He asked the paladin to report to Lordaeron with the advice of Kael'thas and the others, while he hurried back towards Alterac. (Your support is my biggest motivation.) )
