Chapter Twenty-Six: Romeona in Confusion
Not knowing whether she was lucky or unlucky, she immediately met someone she knew when she returned to the King's Castle. It was Sophia, the emperor's favorite niece of the castle and the princess that the noble men wanted to get close to. The princess Sophia was in the carriage that passed her, and she happened to meet her eyes, although only for a glance, and then the other party was no longer in her sight.
Romeona didn't stop, but she remembered that face very well, and there was no question of admitting her mistake. If anything, when Romeona was a noble Romeona, she met Sophia once. It was only a meeting, and it was still watching from afar, but Sophia had already made a deep impression on Romeona. The domineering and arrogant aristocracy, Romeona had seen a lot, many of them in her so-called family. But a "princess" like Sophia, she had never seen - Sophia had everything that a nobleman had, and even more so, but the first impression did not give the impression that she was a condescending and arrogant woman. Maybe it was just a delusion on the part of Romeona, but when she first saw Sophia, she felt exactly that.
Although she knew Sophia, she was never friends with whom she had even the slightest friendship, and she only watched her from afar, never trying to break into a world that she was not interested in. And what Romeona didn't know was that Sophia was also observing her, and she thought the same thing.
Romeona felt that after seeing her mother, she seemed to have become a little relaxed, and left the church without hiding her face, and then met a familiar stranger. But Romeo Ona wasn't much of an allergic person, and she wasn't so arrogant as to think that Sophia would remember what an illegitimate child looked like, or that in Sophia's eyes, she was someone who never existed. And Romeona has changed a lot now, even if someone who really knows her sees her, I'm afraid they won't easily believe that the person in front of them is Romeona - not to mention that Romeona is dead.
Romeona continued to walk along the side of the avenue, avoiding the passing carriages and horsemen on horseback. Now she had nothing to do, it was not her own will to return to the King's Castle, and she could not think of anything else she could do except see her mother again. But after seeing Sophia, a person who belonged to the aristocratic circle, some strange thoughts suddenly popped up in Romeoona's heart.
She didn't want to be angry with Sophia, who had nothing to do with her, but Sophia was a very impressive woman, and she could easily remind Romeona of everything about the nobility, and then Romeona would think of someone, her father.
It was her own father who pushed Romeona into hell with his own hands. Romeona stopped and looked up. The inhabitants of King's Castle, as usual, went about their daily work in an orderly manner and enjoyed their lives, and no one cared about Romeona. Returning to the King's Castle, Romeona felt that the King's Castle had not changed, but she felt a great sense of alienation, and this hometown, except for the burial place of her mother, could no longer think of even the slightest happiness. And the old man Olga, who had been taking care of herself, was not in the King's Castle either.
The King's Castle had become a strange world to her, and there was no place for Romeona. If it weren't for her ruthless father, Romeona would probably still be the bastard of an angry nobleman, and she might have been abandoned one day—in fact, she would have been abandoned.
Around Romeona, people came and went, and on the wide streets, there were monk-looking people standing on wooden boxes, shouting and preaching to passers-by below: "Wake up, Catholics! The heretics of the Cult of Light just want to take this opportunity to make us bow our heads and kneel before the teachings that we have been fighting against and fighting for thousands of years!" The monk was an old man, but there seemed to be infinite power in his body, which was amplifying his whole being, including his voice. The strength and passion that came from nowhere, gave him a fighting spirit that was even more vigorous than that of a young man, and his face was red, and he roared with all his might. Below him, passers-by, or believers, mingled in, and uneasiness, fear, and anger spread, and more and more people gathered around him, as if they were in a commotion.
But none of that affected Romeona, and not even the voices reached her ears. Her mind was now filled with a terrible thought, a demonic thought that had been thrown into Lulunaka's alchemy cauldron after a mixture of stupidity, impulsiveness, ignorance, and childishness.
Romeo has read romantic novels in which a prince, princess or knight is framed and always takes revenge at the end of the story, leaving the villain to die a bad death. And the terrible thought that came to Romeona's heart may have originated from this. Taking revenge on someone is a right that Romeo can have, right?
The reason why this is a whisper from the devil is because it is indeed very attractive, and the mother died of overthinking, and she almost died in a planned murder...... Is that kind of man really a person?
Revenge on a man like that isn't something you can't do, right?
Romeona couldn't help herself from thinking about this terrible thing, why she had a reason to do it, but how? As her mind began to spin wildly to figure out how to make this happen, a voice sounded in her head - don't you want to be like me, Romena......
The words that Apo had said to her rang in her ears again. Romeona's rapidly spinning brain stopped as if it had been caught in a piece of iron. Her face turned pale all of a sudden, and her vision became a little blurred.
She didn't know why Po would say such a thing to herself in the first place, and she didn't even understand what Po meant by it. But recalling Apo's words did make her sober up a little bit, and she recovered from a certain state. Her sudden burst of anger and revenge diminished a lot.
But Romeona was still in a state of confusion. She had just come up with the idea of returning to King's Castle, perhaps for the sake of such a thing, but she was immediately dispelled, leaving her in a state of aimlessness again.
