Overture Duran's Monologues
I never imagined that this day would come so suddenly.
It's September of the year of frostfall, and it's the perfect time to plant frosty strawberries and fat pumpkins.
The dark clouds of the morning sky cleared, the wind of the east coast lingered reluctantly over the emerald green thorn bird banner above the castle, and the shadows of the vast land surged towards me.
The crowd is like a sea, and the music is singing.
I stood on the wall and beckoned to my people, and the crowd cheered me back.
My partner leaned back his long neck, and thin flames erupted from his long flat mouth as if they were about to try. I could see that he was so excited that I had to pet his head again and again to tell him that you were a pure-blooded fire-eating beast and not an all-powerful wyvern, or I would have jumped straight from the walls of the Holy Mountain three hundred feet in excitement.
"Lord Duran, the celebration is about to begin."
Coco, dressed in a burgundy velvet gown, urged me from afar, and I gently stroked the cold stone wall with my hand, my gaze gradually conning to the West.
There I could vaguely see countless black flames rising into the sky mixed with the smoke of gunpowder, and countless people screaming and crying, dying and dying under the rule of the evil dragon.
And here, the territory that belongs to me, the holy mountain of Modovac, is peaceful.
The four towers of prayer that rose to the sky guarded the serenity of the holy land, and the divine power left behind by the three gods became the most powerful backing of the refuge, and I saw the four elven kings on the prayer tower nod to me, and everything was ready.
So I climbed the platform and took my fire-eating friend with me, and in an instant, the overwhelming whistling of the mountains gave me a sense of astonishment at the dragon's groan—but that confusion quickly turned into a strong sense of happiness and a deep sense of mission.
Hey, did you see that? I did it.
Teacher, did you see that?
Tears welled up in my eyes, so I could no longer suppress my emotions, but raised my arms and shouted:
I promise to give you freedom!
I promise to lead you in banishing the dragons!
I promise that I will end the dark and absurd Third Age with my own hands!
In the name of my King of Assassins, in the name of the Black-clad Crowd, in the name of the Thorn Bird weeping blood and being reborn.
I'm Duran.;
