Chapter Twenty-Eight: Dinner
Letting the land float into the sky was only the first thing, and he had more to attend to. After studying the stele carefully, he asked the transferred mage to start the first phase of work, which required hundreds of millions of runes to be carved into the land of Quel'Thalas. This is not a simple job, although many of these runes are repeated, but with the mental power of ordinary mages, they can only carve one at most a day.
So it will take hundreds of years for this project to be completed, and of course Moon Shadow didn't expect it to be completed too soon. After all, it is not so easy to build a spaceship that can walk in the big universe, and this thing is going on in secret.
Except for the transferred mage, no one else was allowed to set foot on this land. And the only gateway to the land is Lunaris's portal, which he cast a spell when he set up the barrier. Preventing the infiltration of other spatial forces, no one but him can open the portal on this floating island.
The next day he returned to Cabreth, the capital of dawn, and everything was going on in Quel'Thalas. While it was known that the King had deployed half of the mage army, the new Well of Eternity was being created and the enchantment was rising at the same time. It is estimated that except for the Blue Dragon King Malygos, who is extremely sensitive to arcane energy, no one can feel the time. But now that it's been made, it's all about to be uncovered eventually. The big question is what the people will think about what he will face at that time. He couldn't imagine that the human heart was the most complicated thing. Although he now has a high level of support, he can't guarantee that those who resist magic will buy him.
Moon Shadow sat in his study, flipping through a book of magic, and on the table were notes from various inscriptions he had studied before. He is preparing for the second step of the project, although the first step will take a long time to complete. But the completion of this second part is the really hard part, and this part requires a lot of material.
He naturally didn't worry about ordinary materials, the tens of thousands of years of collection in the Cadore Treasure Vault was definitely rich enough. However, a lot of the materials needed here are not available in Azeroth, and these materials are produced in asteroids. With his current ability, although he can survive in an environment without air, the distance of tens of thousands of light years is the real trouble, that is, the nearest moon, Elune, and the Blue Child are tens of millions of kilometers. Not to mention that not every asteroid will have the materials it needs, and Moon Shadow couldn't help frowning for a while.
"Here, have a cup of coffee."
A word interrupted Moon Shadow, who looked up.
"Is the work done over there?" Moon Shadow took the coffee casually, it was Lisa, whom she hadn't seen for a long time, and she had been helping Moon Shadow with some paperwork and administrative troubles in the neighboring provinces, and she hadn't come to make coffee for a long time. But just by smelling the scent, Moon Shadow knew that her craftsmanship had not regressed.
"Angel and I are back, we don't have much work, and we're already on track. And I've raised a great successor, and she's now helping me with the rest. Lisa said and smiled, looking into Moon Shadow's eyes and feeling reassured, she loved the way she watched Moon Shadow drink the coffee she brewed. After thousands of years of taking care of Moon Shadow, she was not used to being away from this man for too long.
"Oh, Angel is back too? Why didn't you see her? Moon Shadow took a sip of her coffee, and was glad to hear that they were all back. The two of them had followed her to the Black Coast since Esaline, and Moon Shadow had always treated them as family. During the cataclysm, they also escaped the disaster by migrating the citizens of the Black Coast in time.
"She's bringing Santis to prepare dinner for you, and you'll be able to see her later." Lisa smiled, and she seemed happy, as if Angel was happy to prepare dinner.
"That's something to look forward to! Hmm... How long has it been since we've had dinner together? Moon Shadow said as he looked at Lisa, the elf had been so indifferent to the passage of time that he even felt a little terrified now. He hadn't seen him in years, but he hadn't noticed it much at all.
"One hundred and sixty years, three months and eight days." Angel was still smiling as she spoke, she had always faced Moon Shadow with her happiest appearance.
"It's been so long!" Moon Shadow lowered his head as he spoke, feeling a little ashamed and uneasy. From the answers, it can be heard that Lisa is counting day by day. Sometimes I don't even know how to face them, I only think of them as sisters in my family, but maybe they have other ideas, and Moon Shadow can feel it naturally if she is not stupid. But he didn't know what to do, so he could only pretend to be deaf and dumb.
"It's not a long time, but I don't feel used to seeing you." Lisa smiled softly as she spoke, and Moon Shadow felt a little weak as she looked at Lisa's smile.
"Your Majesty, dinner is ready, please come to the hall to eat."
Moon Shadow was feeling a little embarrassed and didn't know how to answer Lisa's words, when a maid came in and said that she was embarrassed to start eating.
"Well, that's it." Moon Shadow put down her glass and got up from her chair and walked briskly to the dining room, Lisa following behind.
The long table dinner in the hall was very rich, filled with all kinds of food prepared by Angel. There are fruits, bread, and meats such as turkey. There was also some fine wine next to the main seat, and Angel and Santis also wore their dresses to look very solemn. Moon Shadow turned to the main seat and motioned for Angel and the others to sit down, and Santis still squirmed. After all, there is basically no maid who can have dinner with her master, let alone a king. Angel and Lisa sat in their seats very casually and calmly. They had long been affected by Lunard's habits, and they didn't have the uneasiness of Sheldis at all.
"Let's try Angel's craft, you know, it's not very common." Moon Shadow said and looked at Angel's humorous smile.
"Hmph, it's definitely going to make you bite your tongue." When Angel saw Moon Shadow making fun of herself, she immediately replied, she didn't want to suffer verbally.
"Oh, is it? So confident? He was also very happy not to see Moon Shadow in a long time, and he continued to stumble with Angel.
"Of course, I'm the brilliant Angel." Angel raised her head as she spoke, straightening her small breasts and giving Moon Shadow a side face and nostrils.
"Don't be so unruly, how can you talk to Your Majesty." Lisa glared at Angel, but there wasn't much blame in her eyes. She just reminded Angel again that she should pay attention to her image.
"Alright, let's start eating." Moon Shadow said as she picked up a pan-fried steak with her fork and cut it into a small piece and put it in her mouth, chewing slowly and savoring it.
"How?" Angel looked at Moon Shadow with anticipation in her eyes, and Moon Shadow smiled slightly and cut off a piece of turkey next to her and fed it to her mouth.
"Well, turkey is better than steak." Moon Shadow said as she looked at Angel and smiled. Angel didn't say a word and looked at Moon Shadow angrily, but Santis was full of joy because she made the turkey. Then Angel suddenly snatched the steak in front of Moon Shadow's eyes and fed it to her mouth, eating and breaking it.
Moon Shadow couldn't help but feel a little funny when she looked at Angel with her cheeks, and took a sip of the goblet next to her. Dinner was held in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, at least Moon Shadow found it light-hearted.
