Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Waves, the Sound of the Sea, and the Cape

When people settle down, time seems to fly by. As she sat at her desk, looking out the window, she had an idea. She was fortunate enough to have a separate room of her own, small and the gray-white stone walls gave it a cold feeling, but it was a place to sleep peacefully.

There is a window in front of the desk, so the ample light makes writing easy and doesn't hurt the eyes as much. And here, not only the light, but also the continuous sound of the waves will pour in. It's hard to tell if it's a lullaby or a noise for a night's sleep.

Romeo narrowed her eyes slightly, avoiding the glare of light. The sound of the sea breeze passed through the window and into her ears. This room faces the sea, and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs of the promontory below can often be heard.

Half a month has passed since I came to this seaside chapel. At first, she was amazed by the chapel on this promontory, but after staying for a long time, Romeona became accustomed to it. There seemed to be nothing special about it except that it was dilapidated, and it was no different from the chapel she had seen in King's Castle, if not even more rudimentary. The only thing that makes this place unique is its location. After all, not every house of worship is built in such a remote and precipitous place. It was hard for her to imagine the faithful visiting the chapel, where the sea breeze was raging and the waves were so loud that even the sound of prayer seemed to be overshadowed by the sound of the waves. There was a bell tower above the chapel, but Romeona had never been there, nor had she seen Apo and Luluna go up. It was like a desert, with only a large bell to be seen, but no one would ring it. A long time ago, the bell was probably used to remind the people around to pray, but now it has lost its usefulness. In this chapel, there is no such devout person.

Living here is not an easy task. Lulunaka invites them here, but the environment is unexpected. Because it was she who accepted Lulunaka's invitation, she had no intention of complaining, nor did she plan to live like a nobleman again. Compared to the days when I lived in the slums of the King's Castle as a child, the sound of the waves was lovely.

Romeona withdrew her gaze from the window and looked at the table in front of her. In front of her was spread out a book found in the chapel. I couldn't tell what kind of animal leather it was, the yellowed paper, and the handwriting, some of which had faded in black ink, and some of which had seeped out to be black. It's not so much a book as a notebook. The notebook appears to contain the day-to-day affairs of the chapel, and it looks like it came from someone's hand, but the date is unknown, and the person who wrote it did not write down the date, but only separated each diary with numbers. And Romeona couldn't tell from the age of the handwriting and the age of the paper. But she knew that this chapel diary must have been very old.

This journal was not found by Romeona, but given to her by Lulunaka. It's not that there is no work to be done in the chapel now, but it is all heavy work, and even if she wants to help, she is only a disservice. Seeing that Romeona was doing nothing and becoming increasingly melancholy, Lulunaka put the diary in her hand.

"If you have nothing to do, just read a book—but this isn't just a book, it's just a boring diary of everyday chores. If you're bored, just check this out. It's not something interesting, but maybe some interesting stories will be posted. ”

When Romeona took the chapel diary, she didn't expect much time it would give her, but the reality was a little different. It's true that a lot of the things written in this diary are boring, but it's not useless, and there is a time period in this slightly thick diary that looks quite interesting. In the chapel during that time, there was a man called the teacher who took in a lot of students here, and most of these students were very naughty because they were young, and as a result, there were many interesting things between the teacher and the students.

If you look at the handwriting, the author of this diary is not the same person, but has changed hands many times. And the person who wrote about the anecdote between the teacher and the student should not be one of them. The person who wrote this should be a person who has been observing it all the time, otherwise it would not have been possible to write such a detailed and vivid process. The authorities are obsessed with bystanders, and only those who stay out of the matter can write such clear words.

Romeona placed a leaf on the page she had turned, then closed the journal and set it aside. You can't eat a meal in one bite, you can't read a book in one sitting, and if you don't read it in moderation, when you finish reading the diary, a strong sense of emptiness will come over you, and you will regret why you are in such a hurry instead of enjoying the process slowly.

And Romeona didn't want to spend an entire day in someone else's diary, no matter how interesting it was about a teacher and his students, maybe hers, it was someone else's business, and it wasn't really worth indulging in.

She doesn't have another place like an aristocracy. Unlike the aristocratic ladies who indulged in chivalric novels, Romeona was never interested in the stories in the books. Life used to be so difficult, where would there be a chance for her to have a dream.

It was morning and close to noon, and Romeona left her room. Although she can't do any heavy work, she can still help when lunch comes. The taciturn Po is not a good person to get along with, but he is used to it for Romeona. Compared to Po, Lulunaka, who is also in an inexplicably good mood when cooking, may be more unaccustomed, especially when she always asks strange questions, which makes Romeona always overwhelmed.

"Romeona. ”

"What's wrong?"

"Do you think the fish I'm slaughtering now is smart enough to feel the fear and pain of being slaughtered?"

This kind of question could not be answered by Romeona at all, and could only be speechless. Lulunaka didn't seem to really listen to Romeona's answer, and whistled to dispose of the fish caught from the sea. Chop the head, remove the scales, disembowel, debon, all in one go, just like a skilled cook. She even hummed a poem that Romeona had never heard before: "Life, why are you so beautiful......

It's a little creepy.

Dinner that day consisted of delicious fish soup and chunks of fish, but Romeona only took a few sips before stopping and eating only biscuits and wild vegetables to fill her stomach. It wasn't that she was too kind, but it was hard for her to recover right away from Lulunaka's words. She didn't know if it was Lulunaka's prank on her, or if she was too slender.

Lulunaka is so elusive and very happy to see others embarrassed.

After meeting Lulunaka, Romeo reaffirms this. She found Lulunaka and Julius standing at the very edge of the cape, where a few steps further could they stumble and fall to the sharp rocks below the cape, which had been sharpened into sharp awls by the waves for many years, and which, combined with the height of the cape, would probably break apart or be pierced into skewers if anything fell.

It would have been a very horrible image, and Romeona had looked down at where Luluna was now, and thought of the situation when a person accidentally fell and his feet would go limp. After that, Romiona never came near there.

Now seeing Lulunaka and Julius standing there, not knowing what to do, curiosity prevailed, and she couldn't help but walk over to that side.
