Chapter 339: Find the Clan
"What's that?"
Because the distance was so high, Teresa could only see a shallow black shadow.
"A gray eagle."
Karina explained.
It was indeed an eagle flying over the forest, and Kael'thas looked at Karina with some surprise.
"You can see clearly?"
With the elf's naturally keen vision, he can only barely see clearly, is Karina's vision too good?
"Ugh"
Karina's eyes flashed, and then she replied with a smile:
"I have spells that specialize in enhancing vision."
The hunter has a 'hawkeye technique' that can see far away, and also has a spell that specializes in probing the types of animals around her, so Karina's answer is not surprising.
Kael'thas was dissolved.
"Why don't you want a leopard, but an eagle?"
Teresa asked.
It's an easy question to answer, even Sal guessed it.
"The eagle's sight is very sharp."
Recalling some of the animal knowledge that humans had taught him in prison, he explained:
"It can spot mice running around the ground in the sky, and it should be easier than a leopard to spot where my people live."
Kael'thas nodded.
"It's more than that"
The blonde-haired elven prince added:
"The leopard and the wolf act against each other on the ground, but the eagle complements the wolf."
From the sky to the ground, the eagle and the white wolf are able to cooperate very well, which can even avoid human detection.
"But how are you going to catch it?"
Kael'thas then asked Karina with some curiosity.
The eagle flies too high, which is not easy to catch.
"You don't have to worry about this, there must be a nest near the eagle, I'll just look for it."
Karina took out her bow from her body:
"I really can't do it, so I'll look for a chance to shoot it down."
She smiled, her blue eyes full of confidence:
"I've got enough sense so that the eagle doesn't fall off and die."
Karina then asks the others to keep going, and she will catch up as an adult.
The three of Kael'thas separated from her and set foot on the land of Alterac.
As you enter the country, the scenery changes from green to snow-white, and the temperature decreases little by little.
Kael'thas took Thrall and Teresa's clothes out for them to change into, and quickened his pace.
But their line is no longer a straight line, but a much broader operation.
There is a large battlefield in the game, set in the future conflict between the Frostwolf clan and the dwarves, and the terrain is Alterac. Kael'thas remembered the terrain, but unfortunately he didn't see it nearby.
Two hours later, Kael'thas heard a loud chirp overhead.
He looked up and found an eagle, snow-white
[Karina is back?] γ
Kael'thas thought so, and sure enough, it wasn't long before he saw Karina leap out of the forest.
The eagle swooped down and then stood on her shoulder.
"Is this the eagle you caught?"
Teresa looked at the eagle without the slightest variegation in amazement, and then asked:
"Didn't you say gray?"
Karina took some meat out of her pocket and handed it to the eagle.
"It was gray at first."
She explains:
"But I found that the eagle wasn't very suited to the climate here, so I let it go."
In a short two hours, Karina caught two eagles.
Kael'thas was a little surprised by her speed.
"It just showed me the way, and you're on the wrong track."
Karina patted the eagle, then pointed ahead:
"More than ten minutes ahead of you is a human village, and there is no trace of orcs there."
This eagle has just joined and made a meritorious service.
"So which way are we going?"
Kael'thas stared at the eagle with interest and asked Karina.
"I don't know."
The huntress, however, shook her head.
"Everything is a cold area full of snow-capped mountains, and it seems to be the same everywhere you go."
Alterac is not surrounded by mountains like its neighbour Hinterland, but it bears some resemblance to Hinterland - both in the middle.
Their most fundamental problem is height.
Alterac is a high mountain area, with relatively flat land in the middle, surrounded by mountains but not very high. But Hinterland is a valley within a high mountain, with forests in the middle and very different mountains on all sides.
Kael'thas had been to Alterac last time, so remember that humans were in the middle of the better places, and the surrounding mountains were sparsely populated.
"Let's go west, then."
He remembered that the Frostwolf Clan camp was in the northwest on the game's map, and although that map wasn't very reliable, it was still worth trying.
"There doesn't seem to be much hiding place in the south, so let's find a place here in the south first."
Kael'thas analyzed the others:
"Then slowly move north from the west, and then come down from the east after finding the north again."
This is a typical brainless circular search, but no one objected.
They went into action, and the guides were eagles and wolves.
Kael'thas felt that his phoenix could definitely do better, but he couldn't take it out easily.
After the orc war, the whole world knew that the phoenix was his unique pet, which caused him to dare not abuse it. In fact, there were also a lot of people interested in his Hellfire, and several people had already come to inquire about it in Dalaran that he had met.
If it weren't for Kael'thas being there, it is estimated that he would have died a miserable death with the secret of summoning hellfire.
It was only after the search that Alterac became apparent, and it was difficult for a few people to advance many kilometers in a day when they were not familiar with it at first.
Their numbers are too small.
"Maybe we should think bigger."
One night after a week of searching, several people began to discuss a better approach.
Kael'thas says:
"We can't just start with buildings and orcs."
He had been worried that the orcs would hide all their traces.
Kael'thas didn't know how powerful the orc shaman was as Drektar, but as Thrall's teacher, his strength was not low.
He hadn't played the shaman in the game and didn't know exactly what it was powering, but Kael'thas couldn't deny the shaman's power - Thrall would become a savior in the future, and many missions would be with him, so he could see his power.
Shamanism seems to be a profession that communicates with the various elements between heaven and earth (earth, water, wind, wild surnames, etc.), but in Kael'thas's view, it is somewhat similar to the 'Great Prophecy' in fantasy novels.
This is not because the shaman can really predict the future, of course, but because it often has some pretentious actions.
Thrall would often say something like 'O earth' or 'O wind' and ask for help from the elements, and then when he wanted the earth to shake, the river gushing and gushing, and the wind roaring and setting off a tornado
Well, Kael'thas feels like he's a 'child of the world', and if he says what he wants, the whole world will help him.
While players can't master these abilities, they are real, especially in this world, and Kael'thas is almost certain of its power.
So can Drektar ask Snow or something to cover up their whereabouts and figures?
If he had allowed the snow to cover his habit, the search for the Kael'thas would have been difficult.
"Do you have any good proposals?"
Karina didn't want to continue the search so hard, so she was expecting Kael'thas to say.
"I don't have a proposal, but there are a few things to be aware of."
Kael'thas noticed that Thrall and Teresat were looking forward to it, so he said what was on his mind:
"In addition to buildings and orcs, we can also check by paying attention to anomalies in the vegetation and animals in the mountains."
The food consumed by a clan hidden here is huge, and if you pay attention, you may be able to find clues.
"Plants are those that are edible, and we can pay attention to the traces of unpicked ones on the road."
Kael'thas looked at Teresa.
"I understand."
Teresa nodded immediately, and the one who knew the most about these foods was Teresa who had been poor since childhood.
Thrall didn't understand, and Kael'thas and Karina had little exposure to the simple foods of the forest, except for herbs.
"And"
Kael'thas groaned:
"I think we should go to the humans and get some information, even though they shouldn't know about it."
"But if Saar's people stay here, the villagers next to them should find something somewhat."
Those things can be small, such as 'anomalous footprints', 'traces of a campfire', 'reduced harvest', or whatever.
"I'll take care of that."
Kael'thas took the initiative to take on the task.
He didn't find familiar terrain in the mountains, but he might be able to find it in the human world.
The division of labor was thus decided.
After that, the three Teresa continued as usual and paid more attention, while Kael'thas left them half the day.
He pretended to be a traveler and made his way from village to village, carefully listening to humans in search of familiar terrain.
It took him nearly a week before he finally discovered a mountain range.
This mountain range has a somewhat changed shape, but it is a corner of the game's Alterac battlefield.
γIt's nearby!γ γ
He was pleasantly surprised to determine the direction, and couldn't hide the excitement in his heart.
However, the battlefield of Alterac took place after the destruction of the Alterac Empire, and the situation is very different from what it is now, just in case Kael'thas continues to investigate.
It took him a day to make a final confirmation.
"I think I found it."
That night, Kael'thas announced it to several others.
"Found it!?"
"Where?"
Sal and Karina asked questions almost simultaneously.
Teresa seemed to be very happy, too, but there was still some decline in her eyes.
"It's not far ahead."
Kael'thas glanced at Teresa and pointed in the direction of Thrall.
He deceived that he had gotten some information from humans, and Thrall had no suspicions.
After the discussion over dinner, Thrall will act immediately.
"This time it should be right, you go back first."
Kael'thas told Sal to leave the next morning.
The remaining three returned to the human town for the time being, waiting for some time before considering their next move.
"He's found his people."
The Eagle follows Thrall all the way to the Orc camp of the Frostwolf Clan, and Karina confirms the final news.
