Chapter 220: Kardashev Rank
In recent days, Hua Feng has discovered something interesting, that is, the "Karshev Class", the imagination of everything unknown in the future and present.
The universe is a dark forest, and every civilization is a hunter with a gun, sneaking through the forest like a ghost, gently brushing away the branches that stand in the way, trying not to make a sound from his steps, and even breathing carefully: he must be careful, because the forest is full of hunters who are just like him, and if he finds another life, there is only one thing he can do: shoot and destroy it. In this forest, others are hell, eternal threats, and any life that exposes its existence will be quickly wiped out, this is the picture of cosmic civilization, and this is the interpretation of Fermi's paradox.
When discovered, one side is always eliminated!
Aliens are the collective term for intelligent beings outside of Earth. There have always been hypothetical theories about "aliens" in ancient and modern times, and there are many strange records of suspected "aliens" in the history books of various countries, but now human beings are still unable to determine whether there is extraterrestrial life, or even the existence of "aliens".
In early April 2011, the FBI recently revealed a peculiar memo confirming that aliens had landed in New Mexico before 1950.
According to scientists, there are about 100,000,000,000 stars in the entire galaxy, and about 100,000,000,000 galaxies in the entire universe. If we assume that the probability of life is 1 in 1,000,000,000,000, then there will still be 100,000,000 planets with life.
Many people believe that time travel is impossible to achieve, after all, the distance between stars is measured in light years. However, they ignore the fact that in the mid-19th century, scientists thought that 55 km/h was the maximum speed that humans could achieve, but in this day and age, we have left the speed of sound far behind, and it took less than 200 years.
So why can't there be a race on these 100,000,000 planets where life could possibly have invented and mastered the method of interstellar travel beyond human intelligence? Although scientists have been debating the existence of black holes, after all, from an astronomical point of view, black holes cannot be observed by conventional telescopes, but most astronomers still believe in the results of radio telescope observations, believing that there are indeed such celestial bodies that can absorb light.
We may not have seen extraterrestrial highly intelligent creatures, but it would be unscientific rigor to arbitrarily assume that there are no aliens based on our eyes and "ancient" science and technology.
In 1964, the Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev (Nikolai Ka
Dashev) envisioned the hierarchy of extraterrestrial civilizations, which were divided by mastering different energy control technologies. The cosmic civilizations that can control the energy of the stars in the planetary system are classified as the second type of civilization, which can control more than 10 billion times our energy and obtain the full energy output of a star.
Back in the sixties of the twentieth century, physicist F. Freeman Dyson (F. Dyson)

The concept of a "spherical energy source" was proposed, that is, a spherical structure can be built around a star to maximize the stellar energy. This super-energy shell is the so-called "Dyson sphere", and although this is a legendary idea, astronomers have also discovered objects with similar characteristics through some infrared space telescopes, the problem is that the star in the dust cloud looks like a "Dyson sphere".
According to NASA's wide-field infrared space telescope observations, the Sky Survey has found stars shrouded in cosmic dust clusters. In the seventies of the last century, astronomers conducted an infrared survey of 250,000 objects throughout the day and found 17 objects that resembled the characteristics of the Dyson sphere.
According to Richard Carrigan, a scientist at Fermilab

"We can imagine that the cosmic super-civilization first colonized the scope of energy from the planetary system in which it is located, and obtained the maximum stellar energy. ”
Carrigan hopes to observe the traces of a giant "Dyson sphere" in nearby galaxies, and for Kardashev's second-class cosmic civilization, it will not only transform a star into a Dyson sphere, but may also colonize a cluster of stars, and the impact will be observed.
For example, we will detect anomalous dark voids in the Milky Way, where some of the star's energy will leak out in the infrared band, making bright luminescence visible on infrared space telescopes, or it can be thought of as thermal radiation from the surface of Dyson's sphere.
Scientists believe that the M51 spiral galaxy in the constellation Canis is an ideal place to find Dyson's spheres, and NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and Spitzer Infrared Space Telescope will observe countless star worlds in the galaxy, tracking stars shrouded in dust through the overlay of visible light and infrared photos.
But Carrigan roughly estimated that there should be no unexplained "bubble" or space in the M51 galaxy. Since giant elliptical galaxies are not disturbed by dust masses, if there are unusual dark voids in them, it is a very strange phenomenon on the whole.
But the nearest elliptical galaxies are at least 60 million light-years away, so larger space telescopes are needed, and the Hubble telescope currently provides sufficient resolution. In the Kardashev civilization system, the cosmic civilization that can use the highest energy is the third type of civilization, which is enough to control all the energy in the entire galaxy, but the existing astronomical observations have not found that the energy of the entire galaxy is unexplained, so the third type of civilization either does not exist, or at least has not yet appeared.
Kardashev level, what will the Earth look like in 5000 years?
Over the past 5,000 years, human technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, which has also scarred the planet. We have changed the landscape, climate and biodiversity of the planet. We built skyscrapers for survival, and at the same time huge mausoleums for the dead. And perhaps most importantly, while we've learned to harness some of the planet's energy, we still need more.
How powerful will humanity be in the 71st century?
This insatiable energy demand will determine the course of human civilization over the next 5,000 years. As such, it will also dictate where the earth is headed in 7010 AD.
In 1964, the Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev proposed the theory that the technological progress of human civilization was closely related to the total amount of energy that its citizens could control. According to this line of thought, he identified three types of Chinese development in the galaxy from low to high:
Type I: This civilization is the master of planetary energy, which means that they can dominate the sum of the energy of the entire world.
Type II : This civilization is capable of harvesting energy for entire star systems.
Type III: This civilization can harness the energy of the galactic system to its own use.
Cosmologists use the Kardashev index to predict future technological advances and extraterritorial civilizations. At present, modern humanity has not even stepped into any of these three forms of civilization. In this theoretical system, although we are basically at a zero level of civilization, we will eventually move to the first type of civilization. Kardashev predicts that this shift will take place – but when?
Theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kalay predicts that this transformation will happen a century later. Physicist Freeman Dyson believes that humanity will enter the first form of civilization in the next 200 years. Earlier, Kardashev envisioned that humanity would enter the second type of civilization after 3,200 years.
If humanity had only progressed to the level of Type I in 7010 AD, we would have the ability to control and harness atmospheric and geothermal energy. While the possibility of war and self-destruction still threatens the survival of humanity, at least ecological and environmental issues will be a thing of the past then.
If we can successfully achieve Type II status in 7010, then humanity will be free to wield greater technological power in the 71st century. Dyson proposed that at this stage, we could use a huge constellation of moons to gather energy around the star. Other great ideas for Type II civilizations include interstellar travel and moving entire planetary communities – all thanks to breakthroughs in genetics and computing.
In the future, it is possible that humans will be very different from us today in terms of culture, and even in neurological function. They are likely to be the "posthuman" or "transhuman" predicted by futurists and philosophers.
In any case, a lot will happen in the next 5,000 years. We could go to war and go to self-destruction, or unconsciously use nanotechnology to destroy our planet.
Perhaps we will perish because of asteroids and comets colliding with the Earth before these threats are removed. We may not even be able to reach Type II before we are invaded by foreign civilizations that are beyond our level of civilization. If humanity reaches the second level of civilization, it is likely to start a war with other civilizations in order to compete for interstellar resources.
Level 1 Civilizations: Civilizations of this level have complete control over all available resources and everything on their planet. It is the absolute ruler of the planet, and can control the change, rise and fall of the weather, rivers, land, other organisms, oceans and even the matter in the earth's crust at will. It can be said that on their planet they can do anything.
