Chapter 5: Ash-Morrowind
Firas, the destination of Moon Shadow's trip is a barren mountain range, full of creatures that want to swallow you at the sight of it, Firas has no major towns, which is an inherent feature that almost all of South Kalimdor, Firas is a luxuriant, L-shaped valley that stretches to the north to the Bleak Lands, to the west to the sea, and to the southeast to the hinterland of Kalimdor, on the outskirts of the Thousand Needles Stone Forest.
The climate here is subtropical, warm and humid most of the time with very abundant rainfall. Regardless of the scientific description, this forest is academically called a jungle, but they are a little worse than the Angolo crater. Nine thousand years later, a variety of wildlife can be found here, including carnivores such as wolves, bears and horned eagles. Intelligent beings also exist in abundance, with "intelligent animals" such as snowmen and bloodthirsty gnolls in the marginal areas. And, of course, the frequent ogres who rule the highland wilderness.
There's nothing to see about this post-cataclysmic place, but he's not here for it. He was here to visit the ancient city of Eresaras, a city that was reserved here.
Unlike the Shadow City on the Black Shore, this city was built much earlier and is entirely an upper-class elf city. Since they didn't join the coalition after the war broke out, Moon Shadow almost forgot about them for a while. The ancient city of Eresaras was secretly built three thousand years ago by a group of Night Elf mages of the time, and it was used to protect the most precious arcane secrets of Empress Elshara. Despite the effects of the Great World Earthquake, this great city was largely standing there, and 10,000 years later it was known as the Hammer of Doom.
Dating back to the years before the Cataclysm, Firas was part of a vast valley that stretched across the whole of South and Middle Kalimdor, and finally extended to a lake in the far east, what would become the Flash Plains. The upper elves live here, and the capital is Erezaras. The elves lived a peaceful life in the city. Among them, there is a group of arcanists known as Sindra.
The Cataclysm erupts, and the Upper Elves find that their connection with the Well of Eternity has been broken. Losing their strength, they became lethargic. The city's elven prince, Torsedrin, decides to find a new source of power, and he ends up imprisoning a demon to drain his magic. In the end, the demon's magic power was running out, and he killed a large number of mages in a frenzy to draw magic power from himself. It stands to reason that Moon Shadow didn't want to come to them for their selfish creatures, but he was in need of people now that he was hiring.
Standing on Onexia's back, Moon Shadow looked at Eresaras below. The city has not yet become a hammer of doom in the future, and although it is not as good as Esaline, it is also a city with a good estimate. But it's clear that the city is full of decadence, and it's barely holding on.
Quietly disguised as he entered the city, he found that it was worse than he had imagined. Without the energy supply of the Well of Eternity, the city's magical defenses are in vain. The citizens walking on the streets were also dejected, their eyes gloomy. Although Prince Eresaras captures a demon and supplies his mana, it is clear that this magic is limited. Not every civilian can enjoy it.
A little girl suddenly fell to the ground after passing by Moon Shadow and Onexia, and no one came to help her when the people around her looked at her, as if it were common. Moon Shadow frowned and crouched down. She picked up the little girl and probed, only to be weakened by hunger and depleted mana. As for whether there are any other problems, you have to check carefully.
"This is where you're looking? Isn't it a city of your elves! It's still so decadent..." Onexia raised an eyebrow at Moon Shadow's move to save the little girl, and looked at the ancient city of Eresaras, and there was some disdain in his tone. In her opinion, it was boring for a demigod to come to such a place to save a little girl.
"Do you know who I am?" Moon Shadow looked at Onexia and asked. As she spoke, Moon Shadow picked up the little girl and looked around.
"Isn't it the Night Elves?" She felt that Moon Shadow was playing tricks on him, wasn't that obvious?
"Find a place first, I'll have to check her carefully." Moon Shadow smiled and shook her head.
"Yes, my master." Onexia couldn't resist Moon Shadow's order, and wrinkled her nose in response.
After finding an inn, Moon Shadow asks for a room and gently puts the little girl on the bed. Then he placed his palm on the little girl's eyebrows, and slowly injected a trace of mana. This little girl is only an intermediate magician at best, and the lake of mana is still fragile. With Moon Shadow's powerful mana, if she doesn't pay attention, she may burst her mana lake. The moon shadow was very careful. Under the injection of Moon Shadow's mana, the little girl slowly woke up, and Moon Shadow also withdrew her palm.
"Thank you." The little girl felt that the lake of mana was full of mana, and she didn't have to think about it to understand that it was the silver-haired male elf in front of her who saved her. After all, there were only two people in front of them, and from their expressions, they could see that the black-haired elf woman was dominated by this silver-haired man.
"No, you don't." Moon Shadow said and waved her hand, took out a piece of bread from the space and handed it to the little girl. By the way, he smiled slightly: "What's your name?" ”
"Ash. Ash Morrowind. She didn't know how many days she hadn't eaten, and the little girl looked at the bread, although she was salivating, but she politely answered the question before she began to eat. The little girl ate so hard that she wanted to swallow the whole loaf of bread in one gulp, but soon she choked and slammed her pretty little face on her chest so hard that she was flushed. Moon Shadow looked at it and smiled, reached out and condensed a ball of clear water in the air, put it into a cup, and handed it to Ash.
Little Ash is only about ten years old (elves are one year old in ten years and one hundred years old.) ), with long, pale green hair. The facial features are very exquisite, especially the eyes, which are very large and very spirited, and they are sparkling. Looking at her, Moon Shadow couldn't help but think of Tyrande when she was a child, but their personalities were very different. Tyrande is somewhat self-righteous and likes to teach people. However, this can't hide her natural kindness, so she can become the current high priest of the moon god. Mavi is a little paranoid and stubborn, as long as she believes that basically others can't listen to what others say.
Seeing Ash frown after eating Moon Shadow, he suddenly remembered a sentence from his student when he used to be in class at Moon Shadow. "Mentor, since magic requires the energy of the Well of Eternity to be released, what if the Well of Eternity disappears? Aren't we going to be miserable? "Yes, the elven mage is a slave to the Well of Eternity. After the Big Bang, the elves of Mount Hyjal had the World Tree to provide their magic, and the World Tree's magic could not radiate that far. There are all high-level elf mages here, so naturally they responded to that sentence.
"You're not, the elf of Errezaras, are you?" Ash finished her bread and drank the water from her glass, then asked. These waters contain the magic that Moon Shadow draws from space, and drinking it can replenish mana, and little Ash is much more energetic when he is replenished by his weakness.
"Oh? How so? Moon Shadow asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because the elves of Eresaras will not give their precious mana to others." The little girl sat up and said slowly.
"Don't worry, I'll take you out." Moon Shadow looked at little Ash and said firmly. He was touched by the situation, even though he had come here to take over the city because he was understaffed. But the situation here also really worries him.
"Mom said that the prince used to say the same, but in the end Mom died..." Ash said with a look of some loneliness, her mother gave her the last of her magic so that she could survive, and finally died because of the exhaustion of her magic power. This incident has made her sad all the time.
Moon Shadow patted the little girl on the head and gave her a reassuring look, "I'm going to do something, you wait for me here." I'll pick you up later. As she spoke, Moon Shadow took out another magic package and handed it to the little girl, which contained some magic spring water and food.
"Are you really coming?" Ash then wrapped up his eyes, obviously suspicious.
"Really. Soon. Moon Shadow said as she tore open a portal, leading Onexia into the portal and disappearing into the room.
"You're going to come!" Ash looked at the vanished place of the Moon Shadow, and his voice seemed to be praying.
The collection is still rising slowly.,Recommend a top thanks.。
