Chapter Thirty-Seven: Draco and the Hippogriff

Section I

On the morning of the first day of school, students gathered at the table in the auditorium hall to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The prefects are handing out the school schedules for the new semester to the students.

At the Slytherin table, the students ate quietly and behaved decently. Sauron sat at the front of the table as usual, with Epikos next to him, though to the surprise of some, Draco sat next to Ibpicos in third place.

Sauron simply took a few bites of breakfast, picked up the class schedule for the new semester, and checked the course schedule.

"Well, you don't have a lot of classes." Ibikos glanced at Sauron's timetable, there were only a handful of classes on it, all of which were compulsory, pitifully few compared to many other Slytherins.

Sauron just smiled and didn't say anything, instead glancing at Draco.

Ibpicos was appointed, and he turned to Draco next to him, who looked happy today, and the reserved smile on his face was always filled with irrepressible excitement.

"Draco." Ibikos whispered, "The first thing I teach you about how to be a good Slytherin leader is not to let your pride and excitement show your face. ”

Dracos' words stunned Drake, but he quickly realized what was wrong with him, and he nodded, "I'm sorry, I'll pay attention to it later." ”

Sauron's first class was Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class, and as the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts and the Head of House with Ranffindor, Professor McGonagall had considerable authority among the students, and in fact, even the Slytherins always maintained a considerable reverence for the strict witch.

Draco was active in class, perhaps due to a talent from pure wizard blood, Draco's grades were quite good, and he was perhaps the best of the third-year Slytherin other than Sauron. Draco scored fifteen points for Slytherin throughout the class, much to Professor McGonagall's surprise.

"Well done, Mr. Malfoy." Professor McGonagall gave Draco a solemn compliment before the class ended.

After the Transfiguration class, Sauron didn't go to class like the others, and as Ibikos said, he only chose the subjects that he had to complete, which left him with a lot of free time.

Sauron emerged from the Transfiguration classroom and walked straight in the direction of the Slytherin common room, there was something that needed to be sorted out. It's the end of class, and the hallways are full of students, crowding around. Sauron frowned violently, and just now, a special wave of rules came, which was keenly captured by Sauron. He closed his eyes and tried to find the source of the regular fluctuations, but the fluctuations disappeared without a trace, and Sauron had to give up.

"Surprising." Sauron thought as he narrowed his eyes, "Maybe it's a terrible being." ”

Around noon, Sauron returned to the Great Hall for lunch, where he met the three Harrys.

"The divination class sucks." Harry complained to Sauron, "That woman is weird, she says things that don't make sense. ”

"Oh, what did she say?" Sauron was curious, Draco had just complained in the same way.

"He said we're all going to be out of luck." Harry wasn't very interested, "She looks chattering, let's see through the future through the tea, and says I've met 'ominous'. Harry hesitated, looking a little strange.

"What's wrong with you, what's going on?" Sauron sensed Harry's abnormality.

"Actually, though, I did see 'ominous'—it was a big black dog, like a ghost, on the day I left the Dursleys." Harry said slowly, "Professor Trelawney said that 'ominous' foreshadowed death. ”

Sauron pursed his lips, "Don't believe that kind of nonsense, there is no 'ominous' at all." "Don't scare yourself, that will only make you weak." ”

Harry visibly felt better, and he smiled, "Actually, that's what Professor McGonagall said, she said that Professor Trelawney's favorite thing is to predict the deaths of his students, but it never actually worked. He paused, and whispered, "Actually, I think Professor McGonagall thinks Professor Trelawney is like an unsuccessful old liar. ”

In the afternoon, Slytherin and Gryffindor take a lesson on protecting magical creatures. Sauron was no stranger to Hagrid, the new teacher of the class, but it was still hard for Sauron to imagine what the big man who had always liked dangerous creatures would have in store for his students, but the only thing he knew for sure was that it could never be the Froman caterpillar that the textbook called for - at noon, Sauron saw Hagrid go out with several chicken mink carcasses, and the Frog caterpillar only ate leaves.

After lunch, Sauron and the others left the castle and headed for Hagrid's hut. The cold rain of yesterday had stopped, the sky was clear and light gray, and the grass beneath our feet was soft and damp, exuding the smell of earth and grass.

Hagrid waited for his students by the door of the cabin. He was dressed in a moleskin coat, and the hound's fangs were at his feet, and he seemed to be in a hurry to go.

"Come on, hurry up, hurry up!" He shouted, and by this time the students had approached. "There's something good to treat you today! It's about to be a great lesson! Has everyone arrived? Okay, follow me!"

Hagrid led the students along the edge of the Forbidden Forest, and five minutes later they were outside a paddock where there was nothing.

"Everybody come up to this fence!" He exclaimed, "That's right—stand where you can see." Now, the first thing you have to do is open the book—"

"How do I open it?" Draco raised an eyebrow and complained.

"Huh?" Hagrid didn't hear clearly, he looked up at Draco.

"How do we open the books?" Draco said it again. He took out his "Yokai Book of Yokai", which he had tied with a rope. Others also brought out books; Some, like Harry, also tied up their books; Others put the book in a sturdy bag or hold it in large clips.

Sauron's book wasn't tied, Sauron pinched the spine of the book in his right hand, and the book that everyone else was messing around with didn't move in his hand, but that's it, it closed tightly like a dead oyster.

"No—no one will be able to open the book?" Hagrid said, looking dejected. The whole class shook their heads, including Sauron.

"These books have to be sorted out." Hagrid said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, and "look......" He took Hermione's book and tore off the tape that bound it. The book tried to bite, but Hagrid's index finger slid from top to bottom on the spine, and the book shivered, then opened, lying quietly in his hand.

The students opened their textbooks as they did, Draco still whispering and Neville messed up—his textbook bit his finger, and it was Harry and Ron who helped him out.

"All you need now is magical creatures. Right. I'm going to look for them. Wait a minute. Hagrid left the students and went into the woods. After a while, I walked out of sight.

"What do you think that big guy is going to get?" Draco whispered beside Sauron, "It can't be some forbidden creature." ”

"Who knows." Sauron said nonchalantly.

"Oooh-oh!" Lavender Brown screamed, pointing across the paddock.

Twelve strange creatures strode briskly towards them—they had the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse, but their front legs, wings, and head seemed to be those of an eagle, and they had sharp beaks of steel, and large bright orange eyes. The claws on their front legs are half a foot long, and they look lethal. Each beast had a thick feathered collar around its neck, and a long chain was tied to it, the ends of which were held in Hagrid's large hand, and he followed them as he jogged into the paddock.

"Go over there!" He yelled, shaking the chains, and yelling at the guys to come to the fence where the class was standing. When Hagrid approached and tied the guys to the fence, everyone stepped back. "Hippogriff!" Hagrid yelled happily. Dancing a hand at them, "They're pretty, aren't they?"

I have to admit that there is some truth in Hagrid's words. Covered in smooth feathers, these animals reflect a metallic sheen in the dim sunlight, and their bodies are muscular, exuding a cold beauty that is characteristic of predators

"So," said Hagrid, rubbing his hands together and smiling at the students, "if you want to get some ...... closer."

No one seemed to want to do that, only Harry and the others leaned forward.

"Well, the first thing you must know about Hippogriffs is that they are proud," said Hagrid, "and it's easy to offend them. Never offend a Hippogriff, as this may be the last thing you want to do. You're always going to wait for the Hippogriff to make the first move, that's polite, you know? You walk over to it, you bow, and then you wait. If it returns the salute to you, you can touch it. If it doesn't bow, get out of it, because these claws hurt. ”

Hagrid paused, looking around to see the students' reactions.

"Well—who's going to be the first to come?" In response, all the students mostly stepped back. The hippogriffs are shaking their heads angrily and spreading their powerful wings; They don't seem happy to be tied down like this.

"No one?" Hagrid asked, looking pleading.

"I'll come." Harry said.

Sauron glanced at Harry, and he knew that Harry didn't want to embarrass Hagrid. Sauron knew that the Hippogriff was a dangerous creature, but he didn't say anything to stop Harry, but he reached into his arms and pinched his wand.

"Well done, Harry!" Hagrid exclaimed, "Okay - let's see how you get along with that monster named Buckbeak." He undid a chain, dragged Buckbeak away from his companion and pulled its leather collar down. All the students on the other side of the paddock seemed to be holding their breath. "Relax, alright, Harry," Hagrid said quietly, "you and it must look at each other and find a way not to blink—if you blink hard." Monsters don't trust you......"

Buckbeak had turned his big, pointed head around and was looking at Harry with a furious orange eye. "That's right," said Hagrid, "that's right, Harry...... Now, bow ......" Harry hesitated, but still showed the back of his neck to Buckbeak. He bowed slightly, then straightened up to look.

The Hippogriff's monster was still looking at Harry with hostility, growling menacingly, but not moving.

"Ahh Hagrid said, sounding a little worried. "All right—back off, now. Harry, retreating relaxedly—"

But just then, the monster suddenly moved, and Sauron jerked his wand out, but what Hippogriff did next surprised everyone - bent its scaly front knees, and its body sank down, obviously bowing.

"Well done, Harry!" Hagrid was ecstatic, "yes—you can touch it now!" Pat its beak, shoot it!"

Harry walked slowly towards the monster and reached out to it, slapping it on its beak several times. The monster lazily closed its eyes, as if it liked him like that.

The whole class applauded, and Sauron breathed a sigh of relief.

"Yes, Harry," said Hagrid, "I think it might be willing to let you ride it." ”

It was beyond Harry's wishes, he was used to riding a broomstick, but he wasn't sure if riding a monster was the same as riding a broomstick. Harry looked unnatural and looked at Sauron in embarrassment, but Sauron shrugged his shoulders and let Harry make up his own mind.

"You climb up from here, right behind the wing joints," Hagrid said to himself, "be careful not to pull off its feathers, it doesn't like you to do it......"

Harry was helpless, and he put one foot on Buckbeak's wing and climbed onto its back. Buckbeak stood up.

"Go on!" Hagrid exclaimed, patting the monster on the buttocks.

Without warning, twelve-foot-long wings spread out on either side of Harry; Harry grabbed the monster by the neck just in time as he flew upwards. The eagle flew off the ground, and in the blink of an eye, it crossed the canopy and disappeared from sight. Sauron was a little worried, thinking that maybe it wasn't a good idea to let Harry fly around on such an animal.

Luckily, it wasn't long before the Hippogriff came back with Harry, and it slammed to the ground, causing Harry to stumble, his hair standing on end in the wind, as if he had just been on a roller coaster.

"Well done, Harry!" Hagrid shouted, and everyone cheered. "Okay, who wants to give it a try?"

The students were encouraged by Harry and cautiously entered the paddock. Hagrid unfastened the chains one by one, and soon there were people bowing nervously all over the paddock. Neville fled back from his monster several times, and the monster didn't seem to want to bend its knees. Ron and Hermione bowed to a chestnut monster as Harry watched.

Sauron, Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy ask for Buckbeak, but Sauron doesn't come forward, and he realizes that the Hippogriff, like Thestrals, is sensitive to Sauron's breath. As soon as Sauron approached, the Hippogriff spread its wings slightly, bent over, stared at him with its eyes, and let out a low roar, which Sauron certainly did not think was a Hippogriff bowing to him.

Draco seemed to be very fond of the Hippogriff, a man with a natural appetite for powerful and beautiful predators, even boys.

"This guy is great, isn't he." Draco stroked the feathers around the hippony's neck and looked up at Karab, Goyle, and Pansy to the side, "Do you want to give it a try?" ”

Crabbe and Goyle didn't move, but Pansy, who had been hiding far away just now, slowly walked over.

"It's not dangerous, Draco." Pansy asked, not quite sure.

"Nothing." Draco laughed and said, "Take your time and relax." ”

Pansy slowly approached Buckbeak, her eyes meeting the eagle's large, cold orange eyes, and unconsciously, she exuded nervousness and fear. Buckbeak's face was not quite right, it looked a little restless, its front paws bent and its body arched.

"Wait, Pansy." Draco noticed that something seemed to be wrong there, "Don't move, just stand there." ”

Probably because she was too nervous, Pansy didn't hear Draco, and took another step forward—

The Hippogriff screamed and lunged forward. Draco's reaction was swift, and he rushed to Pansy's side, pulling her behind him as he drew his wand. The upper body of the hippogriff stood up, its wings spread violently, and its front paws raised high.

"Armor protection!" Draco shouted, as the Hippogriff's talons swung down.

Under Draco's astonished gaze, the Hippogriff's front claws seemed to cut across the water, and he broke the Iron Armor Curse, and the spell only rippled in a circle, but it had no effect.

Beside him, Sauron's pupils shrank sharply. "Demon Breaker!" Sauron was surprised, he never expected that the Hippogriff's front claws were attached to the ability to break demons.

Metallic claws slashed across Draco's body, bringing a stream of blood light from his right arm, Draco was knocked to the ground by the sheer force, and Pansy was stunned and stood behind Draco in a daze, the qiē happened so quickly that the students were stunned and Hagrid was still too far away. The Hippogriff hissed and rushed forward again, ready to continue the attack......

A bright red spell slammed into the Hippogriff, sending it flying and crashing into a tree, where it collapsed and lay still. Everyone turned their heads to see Sauron holding his wand, staring coldly at the eagle horse.

"Hell......" Draco hissed, inhaling cold air, "almost dying." ”

Sauron walked up to him, frowned tightly, and looked at Draco's wounds, as if they had been cut by a saber, and the deep wounds were bleeding continuously, and in some places there were already white bones, and there was already a large pool of blood on the grass.

"Are you alright, kid?" Hagrid ran over, his face pale. "You're going to be fine, don't be nervous."

Sauron crouched down, pressed his wand against Draco's wound, silently chanting the incantation, but the effect did not seem to be very good, the wound could not heal, and the bright red blood continued to flow out, but the speed was slowing down. Drake's face turned pale, and Pansy cried in fright, while Crabbe and Goyle looked nervous.

"Somebody's going to help me-gotta get him out of here-" Hagrid picked up Draco, "I've got to get him to the hospital right away." ”

Crabbe ran to open the gate, while Hagrid carried Draco and led him up the slope towards the castle.
