Chapter 152: The East is White

Time passed slowly in the seal of Emperor Yan, Hua Feng had unconsciously comprehended the Taiji Diagram for dozens of days, and only a few hours had passed in the outside world. As his understanding deepened, the brilliance around him also became thicker, and it appeared almost materially around him.

"It's ...... Could it be that Brother Hua Feng is about to break through?" Yun Meng finished cultivating one step earlier, and he didn't dare to be careless by Hua Feng's side. She knew that this was probably a critical moment of realization, and the slightest mistake might be wasted, so she couldn't let Hua Feng have an accident no matter what! Yun Meng thought to herself.

Hua Feng in the Seal of the Emperor Yan didn't know who he was talking to at the moment, but the light and shadow seemed to be all the characters in the Seal of the Emperor Yan who had been transformed into the wisdom of their predecessors slowly teaching him. He calmed down and quietly contemplated:

Compared with the Bagua symbol image, the Taiji diagram appeared later. The gossip symbol appeared before the Zhou Dynasty, and is said to have been made by the ancient Fuxi clan, and the word "Taiji" was first seen in the "Zhuangzi": "The Great Dao is above the Taiji but not high, below the six poles but not deep, congenital but not long, longer than the ancient but not old". Later, it was seen in "Yi Chuan Zhi I": "Yi has Taiji, which is to give birth to two rituals, two rituals to give birth to four elephants, and four elephants to give birth to gossip." ”

What is Taiji? "Tai" means "to"; "extreme" has the meaning of "limit"; and "Taiji" means "limit", which refers to the initial form in which yin and yang have not yet differentiated in the stage of cosmic evolution. Therefore, in a strict sense, the Taiji diagram of the Yin and Yang fish-shaped rings turning and hugging each other is not a diagram used to express the image of Taiji, but its original name is "The Natural Diagram of Heaven and Earth" (expressing the natural flow of yin and yang), and if you want to express the image of Taiji, an empty gray circle seems to be enough.

In the study of Zhuangzi, there is a philosophical concept of Tai Chi. Influenced by Taoism and Yin-Yang Buddhism, it is said in the "Transmission of Words": "It is easy to have Taiji, it is to give birth to two rituals, two rituals to give birth to four elephants, and four elephants to give birth to gossip." He also said in "The Second Biography": "The gossip is in a column, and the image is in it." Therefore, it is important to be in it. Rigidity and softness push each other, and change is in it. ”

What is Tai Chi, the sages have different interpretations. Yu Chuan said: "Tai Chi, Tai Yi also." Han Kangbo said: "Tai Chi is not called. ”

Kong Yingda said: "Tai Chi is the beginning of Taiyi. Su Zizhan said: "Tai Chi people, there are things first." Zhu Xi said: "Tai Chi, Li Ye." ”

Lai Zhide said: "Tai Chi is the ultimate reason." Jiao Xun said: "Tai Chi is still a big thing." ”

Although the commentaries are different, in fact, they all take Tai Chi as the original body of the characters of heaven and earth, referred to as the ontology, which contains infinite images and endless functions, and the functions of the ontological images are not separated. If we don't learn Zhou Yi and don't understand how to reason, we don't know that we are here, and we don't know that everything is prepared for me, so that everything is left to the end and rushed outward, causing all kinds of disasters for ourselves and the masses.

If you learn to be easy and reasonable, you can avoid evil. The greatest evil is that the problem of life and death cannot be solved, and the greatest auspicious person is to learn to be a saint. If you want to learn from a saint, you must first seek to solve the problem of life and death. According to the Analects, Zilu asked about death, and Confucius replied: "I don't know life, but I don't know death." "If you want to know how to solve the problem of death, you must understand the source of life, and the source of life is Tai Chi.

Tai Chi gives birth to two rituals, Tai Chi is silent and immovable, there is no image, only a pure and bright body, which is the reason of lifelessness. Movement is the manifestation of use, and it is called life. The image of birth, its number is infinite, but when it starts, there are only two colors, one bright and one dark, the bright color is yang, and the dark color is yin, so it is called yin and yang two instruments, as explained in "Kong's Justice", as Rong Yi said, because it has not yet become an image, it is not called two images, only called two instruments. However, these two instruments are actually the basic structure of the four images and even Vientiane, and Vientiane is subdivided into two instruments, so all Vientiane has yin and yang two instruments. Although the number of Vientiane is infinite, the basic number is yang and yin. When Fu Xi painted the hexagram, he invented two very simple paintings to show the source of the infinite number of symbols.

The Tai Chi diagram is a simple geometric shape, and this type of symbol appears in many cultures. As early as the fifth century BC, in Celtic art

There are patterns similar to those of the later Taiji Tu. Later, in the military uniform insignia of the Roman Empire, the Taijitu pattern appeared almost exactly the same as in the Far East, but in a different color.

Tai Chi Tu is also one of the symbols of some martial arts, especially Tai Chi. The design of the Korean flag is also derived from the Taeji diagram.

The Taiji diagram is known as the "first diagram in China". From the pillars of the Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple, to the markers of the Laozilou Guantai, Sanmao Palace and Baiyun Temple, from the Taoist robes of Taoist priests to the fortune tellers' hexagram stalls, from the covers of books and periodicals of traditional Chinese medicine, qigong, martial arts and traditional Chinese culture, the emblem and monogram, to the South Korean flag pattern, the Singapore Air Force aircraft emblem, and the Bohr Medal family emblem...... And so on, the Taiji diagram all jumped on it. This well-known Taiji diagram is shaped like two fish of yin and yang entangled with each other, so it is commonly known as "yin and yang fish taiji diagram".

Since the "Taijitu" has been popular for so long and so widely, it is natural that the question of its origin and rheology has become the focus of people's interest. Before examining its origins, it is necessary to clarify the relationship between the name of the "Taiji Diagram" and the figure. There are two situations here, one is the same name, but refers to different figures, in addition to the yin and yang fish figures, which are called "Taiji Diagrams", there are also five layers of graphics (that is, the customary so-called "Zhou Dunyi Taiji Diagram"), hollow circle figures, black and white semi-circle figures, etc. (in fact, the latter figures are called "Taiji Diagrams" much earlier than the former); The five-layer "Taiji Diagram" is also known as the "Wuji Diagram", "Taiji Shunsheng Diagram", "Taiji Shunsheng Diagram", "Dandao Reverse Life Diagram", etc. (of course, the figures of the two types of Taiji Diagram are slightly different).

In modern times, many people believe that the Taiji diagram originated in primitive times, and some people even believe that it is a gift from aliens to the earthlings during the primeval flood, or the only token left over from the destruction of the last or even two or three civilizations before this human civilization.

Mr. Chen Lifu believes: "The ancient Taiji diagrams unearthed in the mainland are three or four thousand years earlier than the books of Zhou Yi and Qianchidu. For example, the ancient Taiji diagram of the double dragon on the amphora painted pottery pot unearthed by Yongjing in Shaanxi Province 6,500 years ago (Fuxi era) (in the Swedish Far East Museum) was painted with the center of a brush, which is 4,000 years earlier than Confucius.

Later, on a number of bronzes from the Shang Dynasty and the Western Zhou Dynasty, there are also Taiji diagrams of male and female dragons intertwined. Mr. Chen directly called the diagram of the twin dragons intertwined with each other as the "Twin Dragons Taiji Diagram". In addition, some people believe that the Taiji diagram comes from a symbol (the Neolithic pottery unearthed from the middle ruins of Shixia in Qujiang, Guangdong) is engraved with this symbol, the double fish pattern pattern (the human-faced fish pattern painted pottery pot unearthed from the Banpo site in Xi'an, Shaanxi), and the double phoenix pattern pattern (Neolithic bone carving and pottery painting, Hemudu culture have this kind of decoration) Recently, some people claimed that the Taiji diagram originated from the "vortex" formed after the confluence of the Yellow River and Luoshu under the Luoyou Fuxi Terrace in Henan Province (see the eighth edition of Zhengzhou Daily, March 8, 1993).

Are these figures the source of the Taiji diagram? If this kind of graphic pattern is concerned, it is obvious that the Taiji diagram cannot be directly derived. Because similar patterns have not evolved in other ethnic groups, such as ancient Babylon has a pattern of two snakes entwined with tails, ancient Greece, ancient India, the Caucasus, Asia Minor and other relics (silver ornaments, copper kettles, vases, etc.) have some ornaments, but these peoples do not have Taijitu. As for the "whirlpool", it is absurd, "whirlpool" is everywhere, if you can see the Taiji diagram from it, then the Taiji diagram is not all over the world?

However, judging from the ideological concepts implied in these figures, it cannot be said that they have nothing to do with Taijitu. These figures are all made of two and two combinations, or double dragons, double snakes, or double fishes, double phoenixes, and even " " " is also formed by the intersection of two identical symbols, which is the product of the fertility cult of primitive society. The double and double patterns either represent men and women (Fuxi, Nuwa), or male and female (double fish, double snake, double dragon, double bird), and the two cross each other, reflecting the primitive people's intuitive understanding of male and female, male and female copulation.

From the male and female, male and female, the sun and the moon and other human phenomena, biological phenomena, natural phenomena, and gradually realized the concept of "yin and yang", as well as the yin and yang homogeneity, yin and yang relative and intersection (treatment and unity), yin and yang interaction, yin and yang mutual transformation and other ideological concepts, this kind of thinking determines that traditional Chinese culture is yin and yang culture in a sense. The Yin and Yang Hexagram of the Book of Changes is the symbolization of Yin and Yang thought (line symbols), and the black and white and the entanglement of the beginning and end of the Taiji diagram are the best illustrations (graphic symbols) of the concept of unification, growth and decline, and interaction between roots and roots.

It can be seen that these patterns in the primitive era are only the ideological origin of the Taiji Diagram, and it is impossible to directly evolve into the Taiji Diagram from them.

In the writings of the Song people, it is basically believed that the "innate diagram" (which should include the "yin and yang fish map" or "yin and yang fish map") was handed down from Chen Tuan in the early Song dynasty of the fifth dynasty. The most famous is Zhu Zhen's exposition: "Chen Shu used the innate picture to pass on the seeds, let Mu Xiu pass on, Mu Xiu passed on Li Zhicai, and the talent passed on Shao Yong." ("Han Shang Yi Biography, Jin Yi Saying Table")

Time passes, and I don't realize that the East is white.
