Chapter 336: Infiltration (Part II)
Heavy rains have also hit the Orc Fortress, and on a clear day, the area of the fortress is full of hounds and wolves with a keen sense of smell. With the exception of animals, orcs, goblins, and their gnolloll allies don't have very good perception.
The Shadow Knight lent [Musk's Shadow Brooch] to Charles again, and although he would have to go back afterwards, he was satisfied with the fact that he could finally take the holy relic.
The slave camp was in the corner of the fortress, an undeveloped wasteland, overgrown with weeds, and large and small iron cages were placed around haphazardly, because there was no shelter from the rain, and the goblins, kobolds, and other humanoids in the cages were wet and shivering with the rain.
A dozen or so trolls are not locked in cages, they are huge, often standing more than three meters tall when they stand upright. Rough handcuffs and leg cuffs cast in molten iron fastened each troll's limbs, and then the troll's iron chains were connected to a steel pillar deep into the rock wall.
It is not difficult to imprison the dragon in such a formation. The trolls were covered in mud and haggard, the traces of the whip concentrated on their backs, and the blood that seeped out was washed away by the rain, forming red pools of water around them.
"Stop!"
Meredith hid behind the cargo pile, looking around alarmingly.
At first glance, the camp may seem unguarded, but it's always right to be careful. Charles clinged to the Shadow Knight, also leaning out of his gaze.
Iron cages, trolls, a campfire pot long since been doused by the rain, and a little farther away seemed to be a mountain crevice, and the wind whistled from there, blowing Meredith's black cloak.
The night of the rainstorm was extremely quiet.
Meredith made the first discovery, tilting her head and making a gesture to wipe her neck.
Charles followed her pointers. Suddenly a team of orc guards was spotted. They hid behind a wall buttress more than a dozen meters away to take shelter from the rain. In the night, only the blurred upper body is revealed.
"Probably an orc hunter. At this distance, it is not difficult for them to find the wind and grass...... So, kill them! Meredith said coldly.
The Orc Hunter is also known as the Ranger among the Orcs.
The Ranger class has the skills of 'Scouting' and 'Listening', plus years of combat experience, and it is difficult to fool them unless they are unaware.
The best way to do that is to kill them all.
Meredith and Charles shot out at the same time as the battlement, and the orc hunters, who were chattering in orc language in the rainstorm, sensed the danger too late.
"Whoosh"
The Shadow Knight flicked his cloak, and the pocket magic crossbow hidden in his body suddenly activated. Shoot three or four poisoned arrows with black glow. Puff puff. A few clumps of blood bloomed, and half of the orc hunters fell in an instant.
Charles was a priest, and he didn't carry weapons such as daggers or shurikens for assassination, only a green longsword that was rarely used.
But the rain can drown out a lot of sounds, and Charles sneaks up to the orcs and pulls out the 'Deep Sea Frost Flails' to give the orc hunters a rough taste.
"Bang!"
The spiked chain hammer reverberated open, and for orcs who rarely wore metal armor, the flail was too terrifying a weapon, and it was first a hammer to hunt the nearest orc. The rapidly whirling flail slammed into the other two orc hunters, thumping twice. The two orcs fell to the wall, their bodies convulsing and bleeding, and they slipped limply.
"Ding, kill the [Orc Hunter]."
More than a dozen sounds of system information surfaced on the retina. Meredith alone killed seven or eight orc hunters, with Charles killing 3 and female blood killing 5.
Most of the XP is naturally pocketed by the Charles.
"Class: Civilian Lv. 10 (max) / Priest Lv. 15 (31%)......"
The progress of the promotion has increased rapidly, from 14% yesterday to 31% today. This Charr is inseparable from interfering in the war, and yesterday the three of them bombed in the orc army array, although they were all kobolds and goblins, but they couldn't stand up to the mountains of rocks.
Easily solving the orc hunter squad, Charles sees Mahi groping for something on the hunter's corpse.
Moments later, Mahi pulled out a small blue dagger from a corpse and walked back with a beaming expression. Charles couldn't help but be surprised: "What about your original weapon?" β
"It's damaged."
"At the time of yesterday's war." Mahi glanced over and whispered.
"I was negligent...... Charles was stunned and apologized to the important attendant, "The blue weapon is not for you, so be it, I will help you get a purple dagger in the near future." β
Meredith raised a strange smile at the corner of her mouth, hooked her finger and said, "Did you forget something?" Now is the time to sneak into the assassination, and I don't want you to do it. β
Charles only shrugged lightly at Shadow Knight's quip.
After taking out the guards, the rest of the work was easy, and the three of them braved the rain to walk up to the group of trolls.
A leader-like troll suddenly raised his head, as if he had smelled the breath of the three of them that was different from that of the orcs, and actually opened his mouth to say in a human language: "...... Mankind? β
Backbite.
Meredith goes to negotiate with the troll leader, and Charles chooses to extract the monster information.
"Troll Hunter. Angola (Lord), Class: Ranger Lv20/Beast Hunter Lv5, Health: ??? /οΌοΌοΌ , a strong male adult troll who will slaughter and devour any humanoid. While cunning and sensitive, it also has incredible regenerative abilities. β
Trolls usually belong to the [Chaos and Evil] camp, and it is difficult for humans and orcs to deal with them, Meredith didn't say a word, and the troll leader roared angrily, "No-"
"You don't need to save my people!"
"I will wash myself of shame!"
Enraged, the troll waved his arms and clenched his fists to smash Meredith, but was restrained by handcuffs and chains.
"No way...... Meredith chuckled and turned into a dark shadow, the trolls unable to catch her movements. Charles could only roughly see Meredith picking the lock.
Thankfully, the trolls' cuffs and handcuffs had keyholes, but after a few seconds, Meredith catapulted back, and said in a hurried tone, "Hurry up." I released them. β
Charles was startled. Unexpectedly, Meredith could undo a bunch of shackles in a few clicks. Angola, the leader of the trolls, slowly stood up. His eyes were filled with madness and hatred.
Seeing this, Charles hurriedly activated the [Power of the Travel Domain], and then superimposed a domain magic [Stride Running] (One Ring), and the movement speed was immediately increased by 30%.
Swish.
The three figures vanished back and forth, but an angry roar echoed over the orc enslavement camp.
A dozen trolls all stood upright, followed by their leader roaring with their heads up, letting the rain pour down on their muscular, masculine bodies.
"Boom"
"Boom"
"Boom"
The sound of the iron cage slapping came from behind the ears. Charles didn't look back to know that the trolls had probably freed the other goblins and kobold slaves.
The torrential rain could not drown out the riots in the slave camp, and a large number of orcs heard the noise. The three of them nearly ran head-on into a small team, narrowly escaped into a dark corner, and if the orcs hadn't been in a hurry, they might have been discovered.
"Next is the command hall, where the orc generals are!" Meredith said as she scurried, "Better get to that guy...... In this way, we should cooperate inside and outside, and at least ninety percent sure of taking the fortress! β
"You can try, if it doesn't work, you can retreat."
Charles pursed his lips. With the activation of the [Power of the Travel Realm] and the [Stride Running] magic arts, it was not difficult for him to keep up with Meredith's footsteps. "I always feel like it's going too well......"
The words in his heart did not come out.
Meredith didn't seem to wonder about this smoothness, maybe she was hiding something, or maybe she took it for granted with her heroic prowess.
The trio stormed into the hinterland of the Orc Fortress, which was inside the castle and was guarded by an Orc every few steps on the promenade.
"Hehe, I've been waiting for you for a long time!"
Seeing the intruder, an orc overseer was not surprised, but sneered and flicked his long whip, "Your Excellency Tamara is right, Arabe's stinky rats dare to attack the idea of the orc fortress!" β
"Just the two of you?"
The Orc Overseer's next sentence stunned Charles and Mahi.
Two people?
Charles and Mahi glanced at each other, then glanced around out of the corner of their eye.
Empty.
It was as if Meredith, the Shadow Knight, had evaporated from the material realm, leaving no trace. Charles didn't even know when Meredith had heard from him, and he could still feel Meredith's breath when he broke into the castle a moment ago.
"Catch these two!"
"Peel!"
"Then hang it on the city wall and let the humans see it, this is what happens to the invasion of orc territory!"
With a sinister smile on the corner of the Orc Overseer's mouth, he flicked his long whip, and a large group of orc ambush soldiers immediately appeared in the corridor, showing their weapons and surrounding them.
Most of the ambush soldiers were orc warriors and orc shield guards, but fortunately, the spellcasters and priests among the orcs were comparable to giant pandas, otherwise seeing this battle, Charles would simply disarm and surrender.
"Meredith's stinky woman really has something to hide!" Charles cursed in his heart, and immediately drew his shield and flail, blocking Mahi behind him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The orc strong archers hidden in the monster pile shot cold arrows, but they were all stopped by the 'shield of the mountains'. Charles whispered, "Cover each other!" Fight first, and if there is a gap in the lost scroll, don't be stingy! β
Mahi must have had one or two group spell scrolls left in her hand yesterday.
Charles also has about two useless cards on him.
But it also takes time to open the sealing scroll, and the cold arrows are difficult to prevent, and the orcs who are surging over like a tide will not give the two of them this chance.
"Boom"
Not even able to find a gap to throw magic to himself, Charles could only barely activate the +3 all-attribute effect at level 15 of [Dragon's Grip], and then raised his shield and slammed into several orc shield guards who were slowly approaching.
22 points of strength attribute poured out, and several orc shield guards flew in response, and even knocked away the orc warriors who were following behind.
"Follow meβ" Charles whispered to Mahi, stomping on the fallen orc shield guards as he swung his shield to intercept the attack, throwing out the shackles to force the other close orc warriors to retreat.
But the two were besieged by orcs, and it was impossible for them to come out unscathed. Charles kept an eye on the damage on his retina, paying attention to his own health, but also taking care of the female blood. (To be continued......)
