Chapter 6: Ice Spirits
He found something.
It was a few mysterious runes, twisted and subtle, and if it weren't for the sharp-eyed and delicate mind of an adventurer, the words would definitely be ignored.
"Wait!"
Charles stopped his teammates and crouched down near the wall, scrutinizing the runes.
This was not the lingua franca of Torrell's realm, but another mysterious language that Charles had always felt familiar with, as if he had read a similar book in Susar's Central Library.
"What kind of text is this?"
Zhang Ze, 'Yuyin', 'Fingertip Quicksand', and 'God of War Kuiye' also surrounded him. They are not rookies to the game, so they are naturally aware of the mysterious text that appears in the dungeon, which may mean a plot branch that has not been discovered by the player.
The sorcerer's 'haunted dream' also stared at the text, a pair of crimson eyes peeking out from under the hood of his cloak, thoughtful.
"Dragon's ......"
"Asha Lund?"
Charles stumbled and hesitated as he read the words on the wall.
"What do you mean?" Several captains looked at each other, their expressions surprisingly unanimous - surprise and admiration. Zhang Ze, a sworn friend, was even more anxious and asked repeatedly.
"It's just the pronunciation of the runes combined, and I don't know what the specific meaning is, so I can't figure it out." Charles shook his eyebrows, "You shouted these syllables out loud in the state of meditative communication with the magic web. Try it and see how it reacts. β
"Oh~"
Zhang Ze nodded with anticipation, closed his eyes and meditated for a few seconds, and then suddenly said, "Asha Lundβ"
"Asha Lund! Asha Lund! Asha Lund! β
Sounds swirled through the empty rotunda, but it didn't work, nothing happened. Zhang Ze showed a look of disappointment, pouted, and said, "It doesn't work." β
"Let's go."
Charles crossed his arms and stopped to think for a while, then beckoned to the whole team: "The time is approaching, and here is the last area, we must kill the dungeon boss before eleven o'clock." β
He was the first to step through the collapsed iron gate, followed by 'Fingertip Quicksand', 'God of War Kuiye' and others. Zhang Ze stopped three times in one step, reluctantly stared at the words on the wall, his face was a little resentful, and followed the end of the line.
The team walked through a brick-laid passage on all sides.
The environment was eerily quiet, and after about twenty or thirty paces, the bull's-eye lantern in Charles's hand suddenly went out, and the passage was completely plunged into darkness.
"There's dirt!"
Charles could sense a misty wind coming out of the walls of the passage, shattering the lantern in his hand at lightning speed. He didn't react at all.
"Ahh
As soon as he spoke, Zhang Ze, the last member of the team, let out a scream, his voice was full of horror, "I fell for the necromancy spell, and the tenacity immunity failed, and something sucked away 5 of my health!" β
The face of the dead friend turned pale.
"It's an 'Energy Drain' spell!" The sorcerer's 'haunted' stumbled a little, barely standing against the wall in the darkness.
"What the hell!"
The barbarian's 'God of War Kuiye' voice changed, and he felt something approaching him, and a cold feeling surged through his body. But the giant axe in his hand slashed over, and it actually missed, and the "bell" snapped into the wall of the passage.
"Imaginary creatures!"
"Ghosts!"
Charles's eyes instantly became indifferent, a wooden holy emblem was held in the palm of his hand, and with a string of subdued syllables, the light of the pale golden magic circle swept around his body as the center!
- Dispel the undead!
Zhang Ze and the others only felt a flash of golden light in front of them, and then there was a sharp cry in their ears. They followed the sound source, and a faint soul was in the golden light, and it quickly turned to ashes.
"Your team killed the Ghost."
"You gain 80 XP."
The same prompt appeared in front of Zhang Ze's eyes.
Ignoring the strange looks of his friends and teammates, Charles put away the wooden emblem and started to walk over to the ashes of the ghost, grabbing a pure crystal nucleus from the black ashes.
"This is the soul crystal nucleus of the undead body, which is in demand by both necromancers and mages, and can be exchanged for dozens of gold coins if they are thrown to the city's hidden shops."
He explained softly, tucking the nucleus into his inventory as he pulled out a money bag.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
Zhang Ze was stuffed with a few gold coins in his hand, and his eyes widened in confusion. The barbarian 'God of War Kuiye' refused to share the spoils, shook his head in a deep voice, and said, "You killed the ghost alone. β
"We don't have the right to intervene in distribution."
Charles stopped stuffing money and looked at the others, and the half-elf female ranger, sorcerer, and female wanderer all met his gaze and returned a look of the same meaning.
"You take it back...... "Die-friend" muttered as he stepped forward, tossed the coins back into his purse, and patted Charles' shoulder armor, "Your kindness is appreciated." If I had killed the ghost, hehe. With a cheap smile, the meaning is self-evident.
"Okay."
Charles didn't force it, but simply retrieved the money bag, took out the sword from the inventory, and led the way as the captain.
There is only one ghost in the passage. If the other team without a priest is faced with an imaginary creature that is immune to physical attacks, it will inevitably be disgraced.
Of course, it's not just the priest's dispelling spell that can kill ghosts. In Sussar's temple area, players can buy a small portion of Elixir from any temple for 25 gold. However, the holy water is a high-end product for players, and the price is not much different from that of a second-grade alchemy potion.
Soon, as the group walked out of the passageway, an ice chamber underneath opened in view.
The ice house covers a vast area, at least more than ten acres of land, like an underground square. I don't know how the thick ice in the room was formed, and Charles was already very solemn when he stepped into the ice room.
"Click"
As if smelling the breath of a thermostatic creature, there was a burst of broken ice in the ice room, and about twenty zombies and skeletons wearing tattered leather armor and clothes woke up.
"Nima!"
"Twenty-eight zombie skeletons in total."
Zhang Ze also counted carefully, and his voice trembled with a hint of trembling and scolded angrily, "This is not scientific at all!" It's just a second-level dungeon, how can there be a large wave of undead creatures. β
"I seriously doubt now that there is a team that has cleared the customs, no wonder the forum is deadly silent, and there has never been a matter of well-known IDs mentioning the strategy."
The barbarians, female rangers, and sorcerers all remained silent about Zhang Ze's words. But looking at their twinkling eyes, it was clear that they had similar thoughts.
"There's another one there."
'Fingertip quicksand' ruthlessly interrupted Zhang Ze, and he pulled out his dagger and pointed at an altar in the center of the ice room, on which a tall and emaciated man was faintly floating, his body gradually condensing into a solid.
This is a powerful necromantic creature, dressed in ragged black aristocratic robes, its skin as white and transparent as ice and snow, black veins looming in the skin, and its hollow eye sockets glistening with orange-red brilliance.
What's even more terrifying is that the claws and teeth of the necromantic creatures are extremely sharp, and there is a trace of cold light circulating, which is afraid that they can easily tear through the armor protection.
"What the hell!!"
Zhang Ze and the barbarian were gasping.
The sorcerer silently pulled out the black orb, and the magic energy brewed in his crimson eyes.
"My 'Scouting' skill failed, and only part of the data ......" Fingertip Quicksand took out another left dagger and shared the monster data with his teammates.
"[Ice Spirit] (Lord), Level 4, Health: 98/98, Attributes, Traits, and Skills, Cannot be displayed due to the Scout's insufficient skill level."
Ice Spirit!
Charles's heart rolled, and his pupils contracted slightly.
He had seen the monster illustrated book compiled by the ** master of the Cormier royal family in the Central Library, so he knew that the ice demon spirit was actually an undead creature advanced from the resentful spirit. This advancement may have been driven by circumstance, or it could have been the result of a ritual by a necromancer.
When Charr's gaze swept over the altar at the Ice Spirit's feet, he had already determined the cause of the Ice Spirit's spawn.
Moreover, it is highly likely that the evil altar can offset the damage he did to the ice demon spirit by dispersing the holy law.
"It's a little tricky." Charles sighed secretly in his heart, clenched the hilt of his sword slightly, simply threw away the calm skin, and roared: "Spell casting profession, you hold back your skills until now, the spell bar must be full......"
"Now, give me a brainless spell against the Ice Demon Spirit!"
"Don't have any breaks!"
"Physical Attack Class Note that the Ice Wraiths will switch between Void and Entity at regular intervals. When the Ice Demon is an entity, the physical profession has no brainless output, and when it transforms into a virtual body, it will fully protect the spellcasting profession. Those were two fixed-output turrets, and they couldn't be lost. β
And then ...... Leave all the mobs to me! β
Charles showed a terrifying lung capacity that was diametrically opposed to the image of Xiuqi, and threw out such a long list of orders in one breath.
The whole team was stunned, and their expressions were wonderful.
After speaking, Charles did not pause, and as he hung the sword back to his waist, he called out the wooden emblem in his inventory and recited the dispel spell.
Evil.
Retreat β
The air in the ice chamber shook, and divine light spread from the soles of Charr's boots, and twenty-eight skeletons and zombies fell to the ground as if they had been swept away by a storm.
But because of the existence of the Ice Chamber's Evil Altar, the power of this dispel spell has been weakened by at least a lot. The charr has 2 levels of priesthood, and according to the normal dispel test, level 2 undead minions are sure to be wiped out.
And now, this large group of skeletons and zombies was just overturned, and after the dispel spell disappeared, they struggled to get up one by one.
"Go on!"
Charles gritted his teeth and held aloft the emblem of the God of Knowledge, the scroll emblem on it condensing the holy light.
He knew that the ice spirits floating on the altar had noticed him and were most likely the first to attack him. Like other soul undead, the Ice Spirit has terrifying agility attributes, and it may only take a blink of an eye to severely injure him with an attack that inflicts chill.
But Charles had already been assigned a task, and he was confident that his teammates, who were not rookies, knew what to do.
So he just had to concentrate on dealing with this group of undead minions.
As a priest with the ability to dispel, no one is better equipped with this task.
