Chapter Eighty-Eight: Face to Face
Sylvanas rushed from Silvermoon City to the Wraith with an elite army of Far Wanderer Ranger to carry out the King's orders.
"Dannas," she said, looking at the adjutant of the Silver Covenant Volunteers, "His Majesty doesn't seem to want anything to do with humanity at all. He had ordered me to expel the Coalition and forbid them from stepping into Salas again. He didn't give the order directly, but I think you volunteers should follow his will and leave the League and return to Salas. This is your home. ā
Sylvanas had never seen the king so furiously scolding the people of the original alliance. She felt that staying in the alliance with the volunteers would affect the king's opinion of them.
Danas said firmly, "I will go back to Stamm to convey your words to them, and let those who are willing to come back, but I will not come back." I saw first-hand the dangers caused by natural disasters in that city, and I would not choose to be a deserter. ā
Sylvanas was stunned, she didn't expect this ranger to answer like that. She didn't know why the king was so angry, but now she thought that maybe humanity was really in a big crisis, so she asked the elves, and the king was unwilling to make any more sacrifices for the alliance because of his concerns. This must be the reason for Anastarian's anger, right?
But -- is that really good?
She recalled what her sister Winlessa had said to her a month earlier when she was about to form a volunteer army to support the Alliance: If we don't lend a helping hand when our allies are in crisis, we will lose outside help when we ourselves are in crisis.
"But who can put Quel'Salas in danger?" That's what she thought at the time. Now Sylvanas still insisted, but not so sure. Because more than ten years ago, it was this arrogance that caused them to lose a lot when the orcs invaded. She lost more than twenty relatives, including her younger brother Lias Windrunner. This is an eternal pain in her heart.
Originally, there was also a pain, that is, when the Alliance heroes went on an expedition to the orc world of Draenor more than ten years ago, their eldest sister of the Windranger sisters, Aurelia, also participated in the expedition, and has not been heard from since. They all thought she had died heroically, but when she met King Kael'thas the other day, she told her that Aurelia was not dead, and that she had added a new member of their Windranger family in the Outlands called "Arator".
The good news made her excited for days.
When the Far Wanderer troops arrived at the Alliance's camp, Uther, Jiang Weihan and the others were already waiting.
"That's General Sylvanas, the Ranger General of Silvermoon City, and the sister of Winlessa." From afar, Uther saw the High Elf who was taking the lead.
"It's her." Jiang Weihan nodded. His eyesight was good, and he could see the appearance of this famous "queen" clearly: she was wearing a red cloak, with two long pointed ears exposed from the hood, and her skin was as white as milk, which seemed to glow slightly, and she was wearing very simple and light leather armor under the cloak, revealing a thin waist and slender thighs, even if most of her face was covered by the cloak, she still looked amazingly beautiful.
Uther had already greeted him with a smile, but it was not good news for him.
"His Majesty the King doesn't want to see you, please go back!" Sylvanas's voice was stiff and cold, rejecting such a paladin hero who had helped Quel'Thalas defend against the orc invasion had left her embarrassed and guilty, yet she had to fulfill the king's orders.
Uther was stunned, and he frowned and asked, "Why?" ā
"It's an order." Sylvanas replied that she didn't know why the king would refuse.
Gianna stepped forward and said, "Even if the elves withdraw from the alliance, Annastarian won't let us go back without even seeing the envoy of the alliance, right?" ā
She was very angry in her heart. Why are the High Elves so ruthless? Apparently their own people are in big trouble, but they still so savagely refuse the Alliance's good intentions.
Sylvanas didn't know how to answer, even if it was an enemy country, it was rare for the other country to not even see the other party's envoy, and there was even a malicious expulsion. However, she was only a person who carried out orders, and had no right to question the king's decision-making, and the other party's questioning made her feel a little unhappy in her heart: "Your Majesty's original words are to let me lead people to expel you from the country, and to forbid you from intercourse with human beings." I'm very restrained now, please don't embarrass me! ā
The words "deportation" and "forbidden" were two words that made them fall into complete consternation.
"What does His Majesty Anastarian think?"
"It's ridiculous!"
Uther couldn't believe what he was hearing, and instead made a terrible guess: "Could it be that he was also bewitched by the Dreadlord?" The speculation made him freeze. Uther looked at Jiang Weihan and wanted to know what he thought.
Jiang Weihan also felt very ridiculous, there must have been some huge misunderstanding in the middle, which made Anastarian suddenly hate humans so much. And this misunderstanding should not have been there before, that is to say, it was the butterfly effect of what he did.
"Let's retreat to the border, and then I'll figure it out!" He built yƬ like this.
"That's all there is to it." Uther didn't know what he would do, but Jiang Weihan's mystery was already known to the paladin, and he didn't need to understand it so much, he just needed to know that Jiang Weihan might be able to do it.
Dennus then returned to the Alliance's convoy. After pulling out the camp, they returned along the original line. until they stop outside Taquelin in the Wraith Lands.
Jiang Weihan got into his tent and said to Kyle, "Kyle, I'm going to walk with my soul to meet the Elven King." ā
"Hmm." Kyle understood, and stood guard outside his tent.
Jiang Weihan, on the other hand, meditated again and put himself into an out-of-body state: this was simply an advanced form of soul walking, capable of casting spells, and being able to simulate physical mirrors, which allowed him to enter and exit Quel'Salas freely.
Jiang Weihan felt that if his actions caused Anastarian to have some misunderstanding, then it was necessary for him to explain this misunderstanding clearly. Otherwise, if the Silvermoon City Catastrophe really happened, then he would definitely feel guilty.
After entering the soul form, his will broke free from the shackles of the earth and rushed to Silvermoon City at a gallop. Ordinary people had to ride horses for a day, and it only took him an hour to reach Silvermoon City. Then it took him half an hour to find the court of the Sun Chaser, and determined who he was looking for on this trip.
Anastarian was still a little angry after he finished scolding Kael'thas. A day had passed, and according to the time, Sylvanas should have driven away those of the alliance by now, so he was calmer when he thought about it.
But at this moment, in his palace, a ball of light suddenly passed through the gate and came to him, and then the ball of light twisted and changed, forming a human figure.
"Magic." He recognized at a glance a magical mirror image that someone was talking to him in this way.
"Who are you?" Anastarian couldn't help but frown at the sight of the fantasy turning into a dark-haired human. The last thing he wanted to see right now was humans.
"Hello, Majesty Anastarian. I'm Jiang Weihan. ā
"It's you!" Anastarian immediately glared at him, "You still dare to break into me, who gave you such courage!" ā
Jiang Weihan was a little inexplicable, he didn't know when he offended this High Elf King who had never met, looking at the past state, could it be that the reason why Anastarian didn't want to see the Alliance Envoy was here?
But they obviously didn't have any communication.
"Your Majesty, did you misunderstand something?" Jiang Weihan asked patiently in the spirit of solving the problem.
"Misunderstanding? Amusing! Anastarian was furious, "Aren't you the one who bewitched my son and made him suspect Darkan, the most respected mage of our High Elves?" I don't know what your intentions are to murder such a beloved elder! ā
"Respectable? Beloved? Jiang Weihan sneered in response, he was not to be outdone, "You said that this elder in your mouth almost killed me and my most trusted heroes in the Battle of Broken Ridge not long ago, and also rescued the death knight with a large number of plagues, do you still think he is innocent?" ā
Anastarian scolded, "Enough! I don't want to hear such nonsense again. Leave before I draw my sword, or don't blame me for being unkind! ā
Jiang Weihan took a deep breath, although his soul mirror image did not need such an action, but the king's arrogance and unreasonableness made him really angry.
"Don't you even know your Speaker first? The mage who ruined our bloody sacrifice, you trust so much? ā
Anastarian pulled out his sword, and the red light on the sword flowed as if it was burned red, this was not an ordinary enchanted weapon, but an artifact treasured by the High Elves since ancient times, the "Flame Strike", a legendary weapon that only the King of the Sunseeker is qualified to pick up.
"It looks like you're ignoring my warnings." He took his sword up to Jiang Weihan and recounted his crimes: "Because of your provocation, Kael'thas wants to confront Darkan, and our hero has stabbed a dagger into his heart in order to prove his innocence. I also had to lie to my people in order to conceal the facts. ā
"I've been trying to settle accounts with you, but I didn't expect you to come to the door yourself."
"What Death Knight did you say Darkan went to rescue? But he died before my eyes! Since that mage didn't kill you, let me destroy you! ā
"Don't you suspect that Darkan faked his death?" When Jiang Weihan heard Anastarian's words, he could be regarded as sorting out the great changes that had happened in Quel'Salas during this time.
He guessed correctly, it was precisely because he warned Kael'thas that the elven king couldn't wait to eradicate the internal trouble of Darkan after returning home. Unexpectedly, Darkan was a step ahead, and successfully deceived Anastarian by faking his death, and turned out to be a necromancer, changing his identity and directly serving the Scourge Legion.
Anastarian shouted angrily, "Do you think I'm blind! Suffer death! ā
