Chapter 55: A Worthless Relic
Lulunaka jumped off the stone wall and crouched in front of the fish bones that Ward had spat out. The fish bone was clean, so she lifted it up with her right hand and shook it in the air. The bones that were pinched at the junction of the head and body of the fish swayed rhythmically, making a krakala sound.
"Ward, where's the fishhead?" Lulunaka turned her face towards Ward, a hint of reproach in her tone. Ward's head is turned away, like a child who has done something bad and does not want to admit it, and the method of escaping the reproach of adults is very childish and clumsy. But in the case of a dog, it is far from being an animal to be able to clearly hear the meaning of Lulunaka's words and react with evasionβbut Ward is a product of alchemy, and is not strictly a dog at all.
Lulunaka looked a little helpless, stretched out her left hand and pinched Ward's dog face, pulling at its dog face, "You fool, just eat indiscriminately, let you do something, you can mess me up by accident, I didn't set up some places when I made you? β
Ward remained unmoved, and continued to play dumb, his head tilted to the side and remained motionless, even his eyes frozen. The pull on its cheek wasn't even a punishment for it, it just made it feel a lot more comfortable - judging from its previous constant scratching, a layer of fur that didn't belong to it at all was tightly wrapped around its body, and it did seem to feel uncomfortable.
Lulunaka seemed to be only threatening Ward, and had no intention of actually doing so, just sighed and took her hand back. "Alas, it's hard to expect you to do some delicate work with a dog. I think the head of the fish was either chewed off by you, or you chewed it off and couldn't get it back...... The bones of the fish body can be used for a while, and it doesn't matter if there is no fish head, but there is a little less material. Lulunaka stood up, walked over to the wagon, and threw the fishbone in.
"What's that?" said Romeona, watching Lulunaka's actions, and continued to ask questions. She felt like a curious baby who had to ask about everything. But the other party is Lulunaka, who is impossible to guess at all, and Romeo Ona doesn't feel any shame.
"You can see it, it's a fish bone. Lulunaka replied.
"What kind of fish bones are worth keeping around, rather than throwing them away. Romeo Ona continued to ask.
Lulunaka touched her chin with a thoughtful look, "What kind of bones...... If I'm talking about Screaming Lady's crafting material, that's easy to understand, right?"
Hearing Lulunaka's words, Patin and Romeoona's faces changed a lot. It's not something to be happy to hear, especially for those of them who have experienced first-hand the power of Screaming Lady.
Seeing the two of them face deteriorate, Luluna Kahaha laughed and clapped her hands, "This is a lie to you, how can Lady Scream be so well made." If it's that simple, if I sell this recipe, I won't say that the world will be destroyed, but it's enough to choke...... Isn't that a catastrophe for all creatures that have ears and can't resist sonic attacks?"
It's also something that can't be laughed at, just imagine that this thing can be mass-produced cheaply, even if it is only one tenth of its power, it can cause great damage to a large number of ordinary soldiers and civilians. If this were to happen, all wars would be as different as the gunpowder used in the first war.
Luluna said something terrible without changing her face, although she also said that it was impossible, but even so, an expensive bomb that could change the tide of war was enough to leave a deep impact and trauma in the war. You know, war is an expensive game, but there is a difference between cheap and high prices. The lives of civilians and soldiers are cheap, while the war machine is precious.
"I've said before that Screaming Lady needs something like a ghost fish bone, right?" Lulunaka continued, "It's a ghost fish, but it's a hybrid of a ghost fish and other fish, and bones don't make it that material. Besides, what Screaming Lady needs is the bones of a ghost fish that died with resentment, a small fish that doesn't even have the IQ of a one-year-old child, but doesn't have such sensibility. When Ward bites his head, he probably only wants to scream in pain, right?"
"A hybrid of a ghost fish. Patin joined the conversation, "It's a species that only exists in the Sea of Darkness, and now it's here......"
Lulunaka nodded, "Yes, we're almost there. As for the bones of this hybrid, I asked Ward to go ahead and explore the way, and if you get to the beach, you can bring me some gifts. β
Romeo glanced at Ward, and after Lulunaka left her, Ward stopped pretending and returned to normal, lying on the ground, squinting as if enjoying the coldness of the rocks beneath her feet.
"This gift is really chic. Romeo said.
"Indeed, as a dog, the gift turned out to be a fishbone, which really doesn't seem like what a dog should do, like a cat does. Lulunaka laughed, "And given its character, maybe I should have made it into a cat in the first place." β
With that, Lulunaka took out the two screaming ladies she had been playing with from her pocket and threw them at Ward, "Here, give you something to eat." β
Ward looked up and swallowed the two green beads that flew towards him. Instead of chewing into its mouth, it moved its throat and swallowed the screaming lady into it, making a few more barks that sounded like it was protesting. Its protests were pointless, of course, and its owners were not weak enough to allow it to be so capricious.
Romeona, who had seen Ward swallow the double-headed sword in his stomach, was not overly surprised by what was happening in front of him, because something more exaggerated had already happened. Double-headed swords, bombs, and other messes...... Romeo sometimes wonders how a dog can fit so many things into its belly. This alchemy dog probably didn't need food, but Romeona had seen Ward eat, and it was no different from a normal dog.
If it has a stomach, is it used to digest or store things?
"It doesn't need food. "But like a normal dog, it needs to eat." β
"Maybe it's because it wants to taste it, even though it's made, it's a dog, maybe it wants to try to live like a dog, right?" Lulunaka didn't answer Romeona's question, she should know why as a maker.
Romeona, who didn't get an answer, didn't care too much, she was used to it.
"Let's take a break at noon, and we'll continue on our way. Since Ward came back in half a day, it would take us a little more than a day to get to our destination. Lulunaka said, then shouted to Julius and Olga in the distance, and then jumped into the driver's seat of the carriage and sat alongside Romeona.
"By the way, let's talk about something interesting. Lulunaka sat down and suddenly said to Romeoona beside her.
Romeona turned to look at Lulunaka, looking at Lulunaka's face. The side of her face was mostly obscured by the cloak, and only a few strands of hair could be seen, as well as her small straight nose.
"It used to be an amphitheater. Lulunaka continued, "Guests flock to listen to the beautiful singing, to see the absurd comedy, to cry for the sad tragedy......" she glanced around, her eyes narrowed slightly, as if she were missing something. "The singers and actors, the audience are gone, and there are only a few useless stones left. β
"Why do you say this. Romeona asked.
Lulunaka looked at Romeo Ona and grinned, "Probably because we happened to be right in the middle of the stage, so I felt it." β
