Chapter 6: Bones
When they saw the skeleton for the first time, Li Kaiwen and Dai Bingcheng couldn't help but gasp.
The skeleton is located in a rock crevice in the middle of the Great Rift Valley. It is said that it is a rock crevice, but in fact the bottom is quite wide, with an area of several hundred square meters.
At first, a Sino-American expedition team accidentally walked into this place while excavating Australopithecus fossils. The weather in Africa was quite hot, so they took refuge in the huge shadows for a short rest. But then an American scientist discovered something unusual about this rock crevice - the entrance of the cave is about ten meters inward, and the surface of the cave wall is unusually smooth, as if it has been artificially carved.
So they turned on their flashlights and continued to walk deeper into the cave, trying to see if they could find the remains of prehistoric human activity.
No one could have imagined that the crevice was quite long—deep underground along a slope, and the temperature was getting colder and colder. When they had walked a distance of hundreds of meters—they should have gone more than ten meters underground at this moment—they discovered what appeared in front of Li Kaiwen and Dai Bingcheng's eyes now.
The skeleton, more than two meters high, was sealed in a huge block of ice and embedded in the stone wall. The surrounding rocks show obvious signs of ice erosion, and one scientist once speculated that the long crack in the boulder must have been filled with a single block of ice long ago.
The skeleton looked quite terrifying. It appears to be the skeleton of a primate, but it is covered with hideous bone spurs. The knees, elbows, and even the spine have slender cones like long horns. The most striking thing is its skull, which has two large coiled horns on its forehead, almost as large as the skull itself, that look like the horns of demons in Western mythology.
An American scientist and a devout Catholic, even though he had seen the skeleton for the second time, kept scratching his cross on his chest and muttering, "My lord...... The devil really exists......"
Some parts of the skeleton's body are also covered with dry fur. The hairs were jet-black, thick and straight, as if they were made of steel, and the light was faintly reflected in the ice.
This thing has never been seen before, and the only thing that is certain is that it may belong to a primate, some kind of feeding animal, and perhaps some kind of kinship with modern humans. However, no one has ever seen a fossil of this type before.
Just looking at the skeleton in front of you, you can imagine what a ferocious beast it was when it was alive - the jagged canine teeth in its mouth suggest that this creature was not a vegetarian, and that it should have been one of the few creatures on Earth at the top of the food chain at that time.
After the amazement, the Chinese began to cut the huge ice block.
The representative of American scientists, George Smith, tried to stop such barbarism. He angrily approached the Chinese representative on the trip, Major Dai Bingcheng, and protested: "This expedition is a joint project between the United States and China, and you have no right to unilaterally take our findings for yourself – or on the soil of the Republic of Kenya!" This is neither the property of the Americans nor the Chinese, it should belong to the Republic of Kenya-"
Dai Bingcheng glanced at him with a smile, and then handed him a document in his hand: "You have a point. We should respect local laws and customs. So please confirm this document - the local zhèngfu in Kenya has agreed to transfer this thing to the Chinese side for management. ”
George quieted down, then took the document and unfolded it.
Then he was desperate to find out that, legally, this thing was now indeed owned by the Chinese.
Dai Bingcheng waved his hand: "Start work!" ”
Several Americans tried to rush forward to argue something, but George stopped them and pulled them away from the side. The previous black man glared at him and asked, "Just let it go to them?" ”
George didn't speak, just handed him the document, and clicked on the last sign of the document: "Look here." ”
The black man frowned and looked over and found that the Chinese side was the "Special Affairs Office of the Chinese Empire".
So he pinched the document and was stunned for a long time before gritting his teeth and saying, "Compared with these people...... Those bureaucrats of ours are as stupid as a pig! ”
A young assistant poked his head over and asked, blankly, "Is this special affairs office...... What is the meaning? ”
The black man glanced at him and asked coldly, "Have you heard of the CIA?" ”
"Of course I did." The young man replied.
The black man looked at Dai Bingcheng in the distance, and there was more jealousy in his eyes: "They are the CIA of the CIA." ”

The cutting didn't go well – the ice was unusually strong, as hard as granite. The Chinese finally used large equipment, and it took a whole day and a night to remove the bones from the ice, and cut the ice around it into regular rectangles, and put them into the biological cabin.
During this time, several workers suffered severe frostbite - the ice broke and the freezing temperature erupted, and the ear of the nearest one was frozen off the spot. At this time, it became clear that the reason why the temperature of this stone crevice was so low was not because it was far from the ground, but because it was entirely the effect of this ice.
Such a contrary thing means in the eyes of Dai Bingcheng and Li Kaiwen that they have come to the right place.
Dai Bingcheng nodded to Li Kaiwen: "Lao Li, you try." ”
So Li Kaiwen walked to a piece of broken ice and squatted down, frowned, and made a small cut on the belly of his little finger with a knife, squeezed out a drop of blood, and dripped it on the ice.
Listening to the soft sound of "snort", the bright red blood droplets seemed to fall on the hot iron plate, and a burst of white gas rose in an instant, leaving only a trace of burnt black sè.
Dai Bingcheng's face changed, and he shook his head for a long time: "What a violent reaction." This ......"
"At least C-grade." Li Kaiwen stood up, his face swept away the previous haze, and he had a more confident look, "It may be B-level." Take it a step further...... A level is not out of the question. ”
Dai Bingcheng looked at him, and then at the thing in the biological cabin: "Are you sure?" ”
"Trust me." Li Kaiwen pinched his little finger, "When will you get a piece of the bone on its body, you can be sure." ”
"You say yes." Dai Bingcheng smiled bitterly, "It's right to listen to your North Courtyard...... It's not a good thing to work too efficiently. Just because of your words, we have to rush back overnight. ”
The two of them looked at the huge skeleton lying quietly in the cabin, and some awe awed in their hearts. If it is determined that this thing is not man-made, then ......
The history of this world may be about to be rewritten.
