Chapter 12: The Green Zombie
The first to enter the light of the torch was a pair of filthy inky arms, and the black nails with fangs and claws were long and sharp, and from this alone, Renault could already guess who its owner was.
"Green Zombies!" Renault really hoped that his inference was just a guess, after all, judging from the information given to him by his friend, the green zombie belonged to the level 30 undead, and according to his current level, he was not qualified to fight against the intermediate undead. But the answer soon revealed proved that his reasoning was correct.
The strange posture of limping, the disgusting stench emanating from the dark green fat body, and the bloody mouth full of black fangs unconsciously opened on the scarred skull, all confirmed its identity as a "green zombie".
Renault's eyes stared nervously at the green zombie's every move, the level 30 undead was no joke. Perhaps with just one hit, HP will go straight to zero.
Renault cursed to himself, carefully observing every move of the green zombies, looking for the most advantageous offensive opportunities.
The Green Zombie is sluggish, and his weapon is nothing more than a rusty boning knife with a dark green color similar to his body's. Renault knows that the horror of green zombies is not in the weapon, but in the plague virus carried on the body, once it is stained, the skin and flesh will die and rot in a short period of time, which will not only affect the player's combat effectiveness, but also continue to reduce HP. The special effect against the plague virus is the Priest's Purification. If there is no priest in the team, a shot of the virus immunity agent can control the virus that continues to lose blood for a few seconds. Otherwise, the player will either wait to die, or continue to drink the Recovery Flask until the Green Zombie is defeated, at which point the health reduction will automatically disappear. This is the terrible place of the green zombies, who have been hit by the plague virus and have been cut off from even the way to escape.
Renault's only advantage now is to attack it with his nimble and agile body. The hateful narrow terrain greatly limited Renault's variety of fighting tactics.
As Renault stepped back, a slight scream came from the dark depths behind the green zombie. Just from the sound, you can tell that it is an existence that is different from the undead in front of you.
Don't hesitate any longer, or you'll face the attack of two undead at the same time. In that case, Renault would have only a dead end.
With a sharp slash, the silver sword body flowing with magical light cut a deep hole in the thick dark green leather surface, and the inky black liquid spurted out from the wound like a spring, and the stench in the air became more and more intense, which was the most difficult defense method of the green zombie - rotten blood burst out. The sluggish movement is just the right way to use this unexpected trick to plot against players who rely on speed to attack.
The burst of rotten blood contains a stronger and stronger breath than the plague virus attached to the skin. During the closed beta, I don't know how many players were directly sent back to the live location because of paralysis and carelessness.
The spray of poisonous juice was much bigger than expected, and Renault, who had been prepared for it, was unfortunately hit. Poisonous juice splattered on the arm that blocked the eyes, and the black iron gauntlet covered it with ink. Luckily, the poison juice was not very corrosive to the metal, but unfortunately the poison juice that broke away from the body was extremely volatile, and the green smoke rising from the gauntlet was like a desert sprinkled under the hot sun, and immediately turned into a layer of invisible mist, enveloping Renault inside.
The volatilized poisonous gas is more toxic than direct contamination, and once inhaled into the respiratory tract, even the primary purification technique may not be completely removed.
Renault reacted very quickly and immediately held his breath to save himself from the plague. But the mist did not dissipate, and the poisonous juice on the gauntlet only faded a small part, and it seemed that it would not disappear in a few minutes.
A few minutes? Joke! A level 30 undead at close proximity doesn't give your prey enough time. The dark green boning knife slashed at Renault from top to bottom, and Renault's hands clenched the hilt of the sword moved, instinctively meeting the stinking short and wide boning knife. But just a moment before the two weapons collided. Reynolds' mind suddenly moved. He quickly remembered that once a green zombie was stabbed, the player had a 20% chance of getting the plague virus.
This is no joke.
20%, which is a 1% chance, is fatal to Renault, who has no specific potion. But the sword move has been made and cannot be taken back. Do you want to try your 80% luck?
In fact, the 20% chance of poisoning is only for players of the same level as the green zombie, and the higher the level, the lower the chance of poisoning. There is no downgrading factor in Purgatory mode, and the Plague Virus has a 99% chance for level 9 newbies who have not been transferred.
Renault naturally didn't know what was going on, and seeing that the weapon was about to be handed over, his heart suddenly beat wildly, which was the body's instinctive warning of the crisis. Renault immediately moved as he pleased, and at the moment of collision with it, the two-handed sword suddenly lit up like lightning, and the boning knife slashed into the air. At the same time, the undead green carrion, who did not know what the pain was, opened its foul mouth, revealing its black and messy fangs, and let out the screams that only wild beasts can make when they are injured.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Renault had already jumped out of the range of the undead's attack, and there was a short dagger shining with divine light in his hand. A white gap appeared in the left rib of the green zombie, and instead of disgusting inky poison, white light filled with divine aura poured out of it.
It turned out that at the last moment, Renault activated the title ability, and replaced this delicately crafted dagger from the inventory with divine attributes attached to it, just to restrain the undead creatures. The gauntlet contaminated with poisonous juice has disappeared, and Renault used his title ability to successfully switch weapons when there is no room for it, and replace the gauntlet contaminated with rotten blood with another piece of equipment with inferior attributes, avoiding the rotten blood from diffusing into a poisonous mist.
Luckily, I bought it from a player at a high price! Renault thought as he tightened his grip on the dagger.
Originally, Renault was planning to go to the zombie cave to level up after changing jobs, where level 15 zombies are more tricky, and if there is a weapon with a sacred attribute, it will not be a problem. It's just that at this stage, weapons with attributes are very rare, and divine attributes are even more rare. But luck always accompanies him, and a rookie player who doesn't know the progress of the game is setting up a stall in the Novice City to hand out the level 9 divine dagger that has just exploded. To be honest, the damage of the dagger is far less than that of a two-handed sword, and even a one-handed weapon, while the divine attribute only has a special effect on the undead and dark types. Renault used all his wealth after buying armor, potions, and the healing magic scroll to buy this precious dagger.
The divine light constantly eats away at the undead energy of the green zombie, and its wounds and mouth are tumbling with foul-smelling ink, similar to the plague virus, and the divine attribute has the effect of continuous damage to the undead creatures. Its HP is decreasing at an alarming rate every second, and even zombie-like undead, known for their high health, cannot afford to lose blood continuously. Renault took this opportunity to leap forward, and the divine dagger in his hand turned into a white light that pierced the heart of the green zombie's head, and the level 30 undead immediately turned into a puddle of churning ink-colored pus.
