Chapter 32: Lonely Talk
On the same night, a little earlier before Olga and Apo talked, and before Romeo and Julius met. Before the night was dark, and the stars had not yet filled the sky, Lulunaka returned to the cabin where she had lived.
This is where Romeo and her first met, and where she and Julius first met. Here, Romeona had told her that no one was free, but now Romeona was freer than anyone else, and Julius had childishly shouted to Lulunaka that he was going to be a hero, but nowadays, he rarely talked about it anymore.
In just over half a year, everything seems to have changed a lot, and this cabin is no different. The place where Lulunaka once lived was supposed to be in the southern part of the Forest of the Dead, but now Lulunaka is still located in the eastern part of the Forest of the Dead, just a little far from the Chapel. The place where she lived wasn't supposed to be, but the simple cabin was here, as if it could moveβor rather, it was meant to move.
Lulunaka's presence here is also an incredible thing. The distance from here to the chapel was by no means a matter of days, and it would not be too long for her to leave the chapel and disappear from everyone's eyes, but she still appeared here, relying on means unknown to anyone.
There was calm around the hut, with no nurseries planted with anything, oil lamps extinguished in front of the door, and dark windows that could not be seen through. Everything is dark and silent, and you can feel the palpitating atmosphere here.
Lulunaka lit the oil lamp and carried the rusty chain, giving the small space a warm glow. She pushed open the door to the cabin and stepped inside. Most of the contents of the cabin had been removed, the alchemy cauldron, the valuable materials and books, and some of Lunaka's favorite knick-knacks, which had been moved into her carriage called the Whimsy earlier. The only things left here were the furniture that couldn't be moved, and the things that didn't matter to Lulunaka.
When she came back a while ago, Lulunaka had taken a lot of effort to clean the cabin before moving the dusty items to the wagon, and now it looked much empty, but at least it was clean.
Lulunaka walked in, leaning on the oil lamp in her hand to see. The things that should be removed have already been moved, and the rest of the things, no matter how many times Lulunaka checks, have no interest in continuing to carry them. There are some things that can be taken away, but there are some things that Lulunaka can't take out of the forest even if she is emotionally happy.
"I've lived here for decades and it's not surprising that there are some feelings. Lulunaka muttered to herself, "But I didn't expect to feel reluctant......
She took a few steps inside and came across a book at her feet, which made her crouch down and pick it up. It was a book with a sheepskin cover, and the handwriting on it had become blurry, but Lulunaka could still see it, and she could never forget the dents left by those handwritings, and the touch left on her fingers.
"Introduction to Alchemy......" Lulunaka held the book in her hand and laughed after turning a few pages, "Looking back now, it was really a great book......
A few decades ago, not so far in the past, but for the average person, Lulunaka was first introduced to alchemy. She had planned to use this to kill time, but before she knew it, she had turned alchemy into an interesting business. As for this book, it certainly wasn't something for her to get her started. Its only function was to make the art of alchemy appear in Lulunaka's field of vision, and then to kill time with the boring Lulunaka living in the forest.
This kind of book, which is full of mistakes and errors for Lulunaka, is naturally not the first choice she has to take with her. She left the book on her desk, which she didn't usually use. There was nothing on the table anymore, and when I put the book on the table, it looked like it was presentable.
"I'd love to laugh at the person who wrote about you, but the author has been dead for hundreds of years, and it's thankless to find him to mock. "And to laugh at the notions of a man from hundreds of years ago sounds stupid." β
After arranging the book, Lulunaka looked around. The place where she usually rested had not changed, except for the loss of a bunch of books, and the alchemy cauldron that had been in the corner was no longer there - it was now housed on the Wonder and had more uses. It's not for nothing that Pattina is concerned about the safety of the Whimsy - but he's only found a gadget underneath the chassis, and it's not the little details that Lulunaka really thinks are masterpieces.
As for what Whimsy does, Lulunaka doesn't plan to let Patin and Julius know right away, a little surprise, it's always more interesting than a direct confession.
There was nothing left to keep an eye on Lulunaka in this little cabin, and everything that should have been taken had been taken, and what could not be taken away, she could not move and was not willing to do it. Soon, she left the cabin. After closing the door, Lulunaka locks the door, and the chain is wrapped around the handle, and the lock is directly broken by Lulunaka. She didn't plan to open it again when the door was closed, and if no one lived here, it wouldn't be a few years before the hut would be in tatters, and if she was lucky, green shoots would probably take root in this abandoned little building.
As for whether anyone will come here because of a coincidence, Lulunaka is not optimistic.
After locking the door, Lulunaka made her way to the back of the cabin. There is a simple tomb here, a small mound with a wooden cross, and that's all there is to this tomb.
Lulunaka didn't immediately go to the other side of the tomb, but went to the neighborhood to pick up some branches, pick some flowers and plants, and weave them into a wreath. She walked to the tomb, placed the wreath on the cross, and sat down cross-legged.
After a long time, Lulunaka didn't speak. She is usually a little verbose, even if she is alone, she likes to talk to herself, but now, she doesn't say anything, just looks at the simple cross.
"It's amazing. Lulunaka took a long time before she spoke, "In the last days of your existence, I was too angry to talk to you, and you changed from the cheerful girl you used to be to a taciturn old woman, and we ended up being together like this for years. Now, you're gone, but I've become more talkative, maybe it's because I've been holding it for too long, this hellish place, it's really hard to find someone to talk to, it's either a beast that can't understand human words, or a dead person who can understand human words. β
Lulunaka reached out and touched the rough cross, "It's because of the good relationship that when something goes wrong, it will break even more...... Do you think that's the truth?"
Speaking of this, Lulunaka smiled self-deprecatingly, "No, it's not such a thing, and you're going to have a big fight with me, bastard with Abona until you die, and you're begging me to help him." His mud can't support the wall, so I don't want to help, I'm really dead, and I just deserve it. β
"But it's you who dies young. Lulunaka continued, "Good people don't live long, but evil lasts for a thousand years." No, you're not a good person, you're just a fool. There are few good people in the group of students I have taught, and all the good people have long since died. β
Lulunaka let out a long sigh and stood up, "Don't complain, it feels so silly to complain about this and that to a mound." I won't be coming back, there's a lot of work to do, and I can't always spend my time with people who are no longer there. My promise to you has almost been fulfilled, and only Apo's troublesome guy remains. But you're a dead man, you're no longer here, and you're just a skeleton left, maybe they've all turned to powder now, so what's the point of telling you this now?"
No matter how much you say, all this is just saying to yourself. Lulunaka understands this, but there are some things that can make people feel better by saying them.
"Goodbye, Dana. β
