Chapter Twenty-Eight: Worms and Dragons

The creature that must have saved himself lay not far from him. Jessica was a little jealous of the creature that was completely indistinguishable from its human features except for its outline, but he—perhaps she was more correct if he looked at the lines of the body—she saved herself, and that was certain.

Jessica got up and grabbed the staff that had fallen beside her, and used it as a crutch. The spell that the worm cast on her body was like thunder and lightning flowing through her body, causing her to feel great pain, and at the same time, the magic in her body was almost burned. Running out of magic, she reluctantly used the Sword of Sunlight to turn the tide of the situation, but it also drained the last bit of her magic, and now she is weaker than she has ever been, and she doesn't know how long it will take to recover. Now she has lost the strength to fight, but looking at the mess around her, there is probably nothing that can threaten her.

No longer needing to fight, she staggered to the humanoid creature that fell to the ground. She thought that she had a lot of experience, she had seen many strange beasts, magical beasts, and magical creatures, as well as all kinds of humanoid life, but the one in front of her had never seen in her past memory. Although she is an alien creature, in Jessica's opinion, she has a very beautiful body line, but the appearance of the surface of her body makes it difficult to notice. On her bare skin, you could see the veins underneath wriggling, transporting a blue, glowing liquid that was completely unblooded. I'm afraid that because she had been destroyed by the light, many parts of her body were now melted through, revealing the blood vessels inside—those blood vessels were tough enough, and some of them were not broken, but the broken ones leaked out of the blue glowing liquid, dripping to the ground, and had formed a glowing pool under her. If it was blood, then the amount of blood she was bleeding was a bit horrible, and it was a quantity that would make one worry if she would die like this.

Jessica watched for a moment, and had a preliminary impression of the creature. It's a terrifying but beautiful creature, with a pair of indestructible iron-boned wings that can probably pierce and tear everything. But her body is so beautiful that even her terrifying appearance can't hide it. Jessica thought she was probably crazy to think that such a creature was beautiful, but a mage's aesthetic was always a little peculiar, even if she was no exception - though she wasn't a pure mage.

Jessica crouched beside her, trying to reach out and touch her, but quickly changed her mind. She saw the remains of the moth that had fallen on her, burned, and then reduced to ashes. It's probably not a good idea to touch her now, Jessica thought. And, how could she communicate with such a creature? Looking at her appearance, Jessica didn't quite believe that this was someone who could communicate with words.

Moreover, there is a more important thing that Jessica needs to know now than communication - this beautiful creature, just looking at her current appearance, it is hard to believe that she still has the ability to communicate, and even whether she can survive is a question. The nightmarish scene just now had become her most terrifying memory, the illumination of dozens of rays of light, the power that could melt through everything, giving people the feeling that even the dragon could not be safe under such an attack. And the creature beside her, before she could provide support, survived, and even protected her with its body under the indiscriminate light that followed.

"What the hell are you...... I'm so grateful that you saved me, but I don't even know your name, so I'm so thankful for you. Jessica sighed as she set her staff aside. The blue magic at the tip of this staff had completely lost its light, and it couldn't feel any fluctuations in magic power, as if it was dead. Such a thing is now just a long staff, and has no value. Jessica is confused now, the captain is gone, Lulunaka and Gendina don't know where to run, and this creature who saved herself seems to be dying, what can she do now to clean up this mess?

"Isn't it time to take a break...... Jessica muttered to herself, but she wasn't given time to rest right now. Because she would soon know where Gendina was.

When Jessica was distracted, the creature in front of her underwent an unusual change. She heard the crackling sound of the creature in front of her, and it sounded very oozing, as if it had separated flesh and bones. And before her eyes, there was indeed a hair-raising scene: the pair of iron-boned wings fell off the beautiful creature, and the flesh shrank from the iron-boned and returned to her back. Then, the slender body slowly shrank while making a loud and terrifying sound. The biggest feeling of this process for Jessica is that it is like the process of kneading the ground meat, and there is nothing but disgusting and bloody.

At the end of this flesh change, Jessica finally knows where Gendina has gone. She didn't die in the worm's mouth, she didn't fall into those holes, she ...... She fought the worst battle with the Bugmen, and then protected Jessica. Now, her naked, petite body collapsed in a pool of blue blood, a large area of skin peeling off, revealing blood-red muscles and those veins with a blue glow. It's just that compared to the original appearance, it doesn't look so terrible, but the appearance has become more miserable and pitiful.

In her astonishment, Jessica thought to herself that now at least she could pick her up and take her to safety.

As Jessica picked up Zantina, another battle was going on in the depths of the earth. In the crooked tunnels that had been drilled out, the giant worms that had swallowed Junia were crawling rapidly, back and forth in the tunnels. It let out a terrible scream, and its fat body pounded against the inner wall of the tunnel, as if it was in great pain.

Its pain comes from a foreign body in the body. If it had wisdom, it would probably regret why it didn't bite this little grain with its teeth and swallow it. In his digestive organs, Junia was not digested by its digestive juices, but was destroying them everywhere.

Junia's current appearance can definitely not be said to be unharmed, the armor has been melted into rotten iron hanging on his body by the strong acid-like digestive juices, and the slime flows on his body, and the digestive juices splash on his head and feet. Every drop of dark green digestive juice that fell on him was a puff of smoke that made him let out a cry of pain. The shouting distracted him from what was at hand—destroying the inside of the beast before his weapon melted.

His sword was covered in a wondrous light, avoiding most of the corrosive damage, but his armor and body weren't so lucky—now he didn't look as tough as he once was, only green slime and muscles exposed from the corrosion of his skin.

He rampaged through the monster's body, smashing, slicing, and separating every wriggling organ and nerve he could see, causing the beast to go crazy and burrow underground until it began to move upwards toward the surface......
