Chapter 8: The Next World
Lawson's rented community was built more than 20 years ago and looks a little old, but because it is next to the city's first hospital, the rent is not cheap.
This is a lease not long after Lawson first came to the hospital for internship, but the reason is that those people in the dormitory have girlfriends, and they usually talk to me and me in the dormitory, which really makes him a little unaccustomed to being a single dog.
Besides, he also wanted to be clean, so he moved out.
After moving out, Rosen didn't go out much here, and he didn't even go to the department where he interned a few times, except for sleeping and playing games, and he was muddy all day long, like a walking corpse.
The reason for this is that just three months ago, his parents died in a car accident, and the extreme grief has never allowed him to recover from the sudden loss of his parents.
Of course, Rosen knew that such decadence was very bad, and he firmly believed that if his parents had spirits in heaven, they would not want him to live like this, but he couldn't control himself.
The son wants to raise but does not wait, this is Rosen's greatest sorrow, and it is also the reason why his heart has always been full of grief. He still couldn't figure it out, how could two good people be gone.
If it weren't for the fact that he happened to get that disc and magically entered the game world, forcing Lawson to struggle to survive, maybe Lawson would still be in the same state for a long time, but now he is repentant, swept away the previous decadence, and rekindled his fighting spirit for life.
After eating, Rosen went back to the internship in the afternoon, only to know that his internship group had been transferred from the previous gynecology rotation to orthopedics.
After he rushed to the orthopedics department, the classmates in the group were really surprised and delighted, and they couldn't help but talk to him.
Rosen didn't care, but soon found himself a little out of place.
First, he had never been to the orthopedic department before, and he was not familiar with the teacher, nor did he understand the patient's situation, so he was naturally not qualified to follow the teacher to participate in the operation, and he was not even qualified to be a bystander.
The second is that he has just experienced a bloody battle, and now he has come to a peaceful life, which is really not very comfortable.
Therefore, after more than two hours of boredom in the orthopedic department, he returned to his residence, and when he entered the building, he saw a notice posted at the door of the building, saying that there have been frequent thefts recently, and the residents are asked to be careful of their belongings.
Rosen suddenly worried about his computer, what should he do if it was stolen by thieves?
Do you bring it to Corey every day? Lawson looked at the computer with a sense of technology after the change, and was a little worried.
"The door to the game world is the exclusive property of the master, and can change the form according to the master's mind, in addition to the computer form, the current optional forms are smartphones, smart watches, smart tablets, glasses, rings, necklaces...... etc., please dominate the choice at will. At this moment, a prompt message appeared in Rosen's field of vision.
"It becomes the form of a smartwatch." Lawson was overjoyed and said secretly in his heart.
Flashes of light from the laptop, accompanied by a soft sound that seems to be the friction of a mechanical device, the laptop becomes a smartwatch with a new shape but not too much of its edge.
I'm rubbing, this thing can't be a Transformer, right?! Lawson was secretly surprised, and immediately took the smart watch, clicked on the screen casually, and found that the content displayed on it was the same as what he had seen on the computer before, which made him immediately relieved.
At the same time, he also noticed that there was a countdown time in the upper right corner of the watch, and he could guess that it was probably the next time he could enter the game world without asking.
Solving one of the biggest troubles, Lawson picked up and looked at the orthopedic book, but after only two glances, he felt upset and irritable, and couldn't help but think of the previous bullet rain and tragic battle.
I can't get used to the peace and tranquility of the real world now? Rosen sighed, simply stopped pushing himself, and lay down to rest.
When he woke up naturally, Rosen realized that it was nine o'clock in the morning the next day.
He went for a meal first, and then went to the orthopedics department.
Even if he still doesn't fit in, he still wants to try to fit in. He didn't want to be completely disconnected from the real world.
After eating at noon, Lawson returned to his residence, locked the door, and closed the curtains and everything, before lying on the bed, clicking on the smart watch on his wrist, and found that the countdown timers on the two three-dimensional doors standing on the system desktop were gone.
Rosen glanced at the game icon on the system's desktop and couldn't help but be stunned.
It turned out that the files and shortcuts that were almost filling his computer desktop were reduced by a full third.
Now the rest of the software, except for some extremely commonly used software on computers, is actually a water of stand-alone games.
Online games such as World of Warcraft or League of Legends, which Lawson used to occasionally play, have long since disappeared without a trace, and even games like Diablo 3 that require an internet connection to play have completely disappeared.
What does that mean? Isn't it possible to dominate this system and not support online games? If that's the case, that's not bad, after all, single-player games are relatively safer, and at the same time, the benefits are quite lucrative, and the whole game world will be owned by me, so I don't have to worry about someone else grabbing it. Thinking of this, Rosen suddenly became excited.
So what's my next world? Rosen glanced at the icons of the many single-player games on the system's desktop: Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Diablo 2, World of Zombies, Silent Hill, Scarlet Nation, Torchlight 2, Darksiders 2......
Without hesitation, Lawson reached out and pointed his finger on the icon of Torchlight 2.
The reason for this choice is that Lawson feels that compared to other games, Torchlight 2 is more suitable for his current self.
Although as a player, he prefers Diablo 2, which is also an RPG and has a slightly similar style, but after all, if he wants to get into it, he thinks that the overall style of Torchlight 2 is more friendly to him than Diablo 2.
Of course, what really made him decide to enter the world of Torchlight 2 was that among the characters available in this world were wanderers who wield both guns and crossbows.
This means that once he enters, if the game is too difficult, it is entirely possible for him to use the guns he bought and the skill points that he did not claim.
At the very least, it will make it easier for him to adapt to this new game world.
If he enters Diablo 2, it will be no different from entering a completely new and unfamiliar world, except that there may be a quest point to use. The risks and difficulties that come with this will inevitably increase dramatically.
In addition, Lawson hopes to use this to test some speculations about the game's master system.
