Chapter 1224: If You Don't Eat the Flesh of All Living Beings, How Can You Know the Suffering of All Living Beings (1)
The fat monk clasped his hands together and said in a flat tone: "In the year I was born, just in time for the famine, my parents threw me at the gate of the temple because it was difficult to survive, and it was the abbot of the temple who took me in. ”
"Since then, I have grown up in the temple. I am very grateful to the Buddha for giving me life to survive the famine, and under the abbot's teachings, I devoted myself to the Buddha, praying for blessings day and night, chanting sutras night and night, hoping that the Buddha would bless the people in the world. ”
However, according to the people's wishes, there was a Tianli Sect that invaded the Forbidden City under the banner of asking for the people's lives, and the entire dynasty was panicked, and the war continued.
Later, various forces rose up one after another, displacing the people for their own selfish desires, and the suffering was unspeakable.
For a time, demons and demons were everywhere, and ghosts were rampant. Natural and man-made disasters occurred frequently in those days.
When I was fifteen years old, in order to purify all sentient beings in the world, I went down to the mountain with my brothers and sisters to promote Buddhism and ask for the lives of the people.
It's a pity that although we have the heart to influence the world, we are mortal in the flesh, and we can't save the world from fire and water.
The time when I went down the mountain made me appreciate the suffering of the world.
In the era of disasters, there is not much to eat, and if you are lucky, you can turn your fortune into half a bowl of hot porridge, and if you are unlucky, you can only eat weeds, dig up tree roots, and more often you are hungry.
Because of the roots of wild grass and trees, I was poisoned no less than 20 times at that time, and the Buddha blessed me and let me survive.
But at that time, it was more difficult to live than to die.
Some of my brothers and sisters eventually broke their vows because of the unstable mind of the Buddha, and when they were extremely hungry, they dared to eat anything, weeds and roots, including animal carcasses and carrion meat, everything that could satisfy hunger, anything that could fill their stomachs, they would not refuse.
Even in the end, they will beat people and steal things, like hooligan bandits.
Breaking the vows and losing the Buddha's heart is equivalent to falling into the devil's path.
More than 20 of us went down the mountain together, and in the end, including me, only three of us strictly followed the rules.
It was only the three of us, with bony bodies, who staggered back to the temple step by step.
After three years, when I returned to the temple again, the war had spread to this place, the dealer had no income, the officials forcibly collected taxes, and the people fled one after another.
The only place of self-cultivation was also completely shattered at that moment.
At that time, I was so hungry that I didn't even have the strength to go up the mountain, and along the way, all the weeds and roots that could be eaten by the roadside were dug up, and there was nothing to satisfy my hunger.
In the end, it was my two brothers who dragged me up the mountain and into the temple.
The temple, which has been burning incense, has long been dilapidated and withered, and even the abbot has passed away.
The three of us knelt in the lobby and begged the Buddha to purify all sentient beings, and this kneeling lasted for three days and three nights.
My two brothers couldn't bear the hunger and turned away.
I am alone and ask the Buddha for mercy, as long as the war can be calmed down, even if it is at the cost of my life.
At that time, I was so hungry that I didn't even have the strength to move my fingers, and I could feel that my life force was rapidly draining, and I could go to the Western Heavenly Elysium at any time.
Just as I was about to die, my two brothers returned.
In their hands, there was also a pile of black things wrapped in cloth.
Smelling the fragrance on it, I knew, it was meat.
They wanted me to live, to feed me on meat.
But as a monk, the four major ones are empty, and no matter what, even if I lose my life, I can't break my vows because of this.
