Chapter Forty-Eight: Finding a Way Out
The two of them walked through the forest on ferns.
"Chen Fan, come here." Not far away, Hannah shouted.
Upon approaching, he saw Hannah holding a plastic water bottle, "This bottle has the word Max written on it, it should be Sean his father's." โ
"Let's go, let's take a look around." Chen Fan walked into the depths first.
Sure enough, after walking for a while, Chen Fan found a corpse under a cliff wall, and walked forward to look through it.
Judging from the age of the deceased's clothing and belongings, Chen Fan judged that it should be Max.
The two looked at each other, "Let's tell Shaun about them, after all, Max is their relative." โ
Hannah nodded in agreement with Fan.
Back at the edge of the treehouse, Chen Fan shouted, "Trevor? โ
After a while, Trevor appeared by the window of the treehouse, "Can you come over for a moment?" We have something we want to talk to you about. โ
As if sensing something, Trevor hurried out of the treehouse.
"I think we've found Max, why don't you go over and have a look?" Hannah explained.
Trevor's face changed, and he followed the footsteps of Chen Fan and the others.
Frank and his son also rushed over when they heard the commotion.
Seeing their puzzled eyes, Chen Fan explained, "We found Max's bones. โ
Frank's face darkened, revealing a hint of sadness, explorers are a high-risk profession, and every year a large number of explorers in the world die in various dangers without anyone knowing.
And Sean, who heard Chen Fan's words at this time, also sadly followed Trevor's back.
"Let's go and help, at least let Max be buried in the ground." Chen Fan thought for a moment.
Nodding their heads, the group came to Max's bones, where Trevor was gathering Max's bones while Sean knelt beside the bones and wept sadly.
Chen Fan and several people stepped forward to help collect the bones, and worked together to bury him on the other side of the forest by the sea.
"I've never had a chance to actually know him, and now I wish I could actually know him." Sean said sadly.
"I think you should listen to what he wrote in his notes." Trevor flipped through Max's notebook.
"On August 14, 1997, Sean was his third birthday, and six weeks ago I told myself I had to rush home and give him my first baseball glove, and now I'm worried that I'll never get a chance to leave. I would have liked to make this great discovery and then share it with the world, but now, I'd rather give it all up and just watch you grow up, my son Sean, you can definitely be a brave and caring man, Sean, happy birthday! Love your Father. โ
Trevor choked up as he read Max's last words, and Sean, the person in question, couldn't help but cry again.
"Sean, mourn and change, remember your father's last words, he wants you to be a man who is both brave and loving, so you have to grow up happy." Chen Fan stepped forward and patted Sean on the shoulder and comforted.
When everyone returned to the treehouse, it was getting dark (I don't know how it worked), and Sean was already crying and falling asleep.
"According to Max's notes, this is a huge gas chamber surrounded by lava during the period of seismic activity." Trevor flipped through his notebook.
"Are we in this situation now?" After a shudder, Hannah pointed out.
"Yes, surrounded by lava, it's a huge oven." Trevor went on to explain.
"You mean we're going to be roast chickens in the oven?" Chen Fan asked tentatively.
"Yes, in principle, it's pretty much the same." Trevor sure.
"Is that how my father died?" At this time, Sean's voice came, and everyone turned their heads to look, and Sean, who was still asleep just now, had already stood up, "Although I am young, I can still bear it." โ
"Okay, sit down." Trevor continued, "Max was going to escape from here at first, when the temperature would reach 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and the limit temperature that humans could tolerate was 135 degrees. โ
"It's ninety-five degrees now." Sean looked up at the thermometer.
"I remember it was 85 degrees when we first came, and the temperature rose very quickly." Frank thought for a moment.
"So what are we going to do?" Josh interjected.
"We'll just do what Max has planned." Trevor, who had no choice but to do so, decided to use Max's method.
In his notebook, he wrote, according to Verne's novel, from here to the north to cross the Inner Sea, there would be a fountain to the ground. As soon as we crossed the ocean, and then found that fountain, and with a whoosh, we were out. Trevor explained the wave vividly.
"I have a problem." Chen Fan raised his hand and said.
"Say!" Everyone looked at Chen Fan expressionlessly.
"Well, you mean we're going to let the fountain help us get out of the ground, right? How many degrees does the hot spring come from? I seem to remember that the unblended hot springs were the same temperature as the water we usually boiled eggs in. Also, even if we solve the problem of the temperature of the hot springs, how high will we fly when we are washed out of the surface under the huge force of the fountain? Will it be an adult meat pie when it falls, and there are still ......" said Chen Fan, who was rising, couldn't stop for a while.
Everyone: (ใเฒ ็เฒ ) ใๅฝกโปโโป
"Shut up, you crow's mouth!" *5
"Well, I just think these are problems that we need to solve." The aggrieved Chen Fan shrank back and muttered.
"Anyway, let's cross the ocean to the north first, and the rest will be figured out when the situation comes." Frank clapped.
"How much time do we have?" Josh asked.
"Maybe 72 hours, or 48 hours, maybe less." Hannah was unsure.
"So how are we going to cross the North Sea? Swimming? Or is it a bypass? โ
"No, the methods are all in the book, let's build a raft to go over." Sean turned the page of "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and pointed to it.
The crowd began to move, and the raft was made of buoyant dry reeds, and the sails were made of a piece of canvas left behind by Max.
After the temperature gradually approached 100 degrees, under the premise of the strength of the number of people, everyone finally completed the construction of a huge simple sailboat.
Everything was ready, and after Frank and Trevor had sailed, the raft was towed into the sea with the wind.
The crowd quickly climbed onto the raft and began to head north downwind.
The raft moved so fast that in a short time the shore was no longer visible.
After relaxing for a while, Chen Fan sat down and began to take things out of his bag.
All kinds of canned food, canned meat, canned poultry, canned fruits, canned aquatic products, canned vegetables.
All kinds of biscuits, shortbread biscuits, toughness biscuits, fermented biscuits, cracker biscuits, sandwich biscuits, compressed biscuits.
A variety of drinks, carbonated drinks, fruit drinks, sports drinks, beer.
Chen Fan casually opened a can of canned beef, ate it with Coke, burped contentedly, threw the empty can into the sea, and looked up to see everyone looking at him, "Aren't you hungry?" Come, you're welcome, enjoy together. โ
After saying that, he ignored the congregation and began to eat again.
The loading capacity of Chen Fan's backpack once again subverted everyone's cognition, and everyone wanted to open his backpack to see how he stuffed so many things into it.
"Chen Fan, every time I go out to explore with you, it's a pleasure." Josh didn't think much about it, came to Chen Fan's side and took food and ate and drank.
When others saw someone acting, they ate unceremoniously.
After a full meal, everyone spread out on the raft to rest, and at this time they did not notice that the canned biscuit packages they had thrown away had attracted some uninvited guests.
