Of course, the extraction of groundwater and the large-scale and long-term use of groundwater to irrigate farmland will cause land salinization, and many farmland uses excessive amounts of chemical fertilizers, further deepening the degree of land salinization.

Because the mineral salt content of groundwater is relatively high, after irrigating farmland, the mineral salts will slowly accumulate in the soil, forming a layer of "salt crust", which will cause land compaction and make it difficult for crops to grow.

Excessive agricultural reclamation will cause a rapid decline in the natural fertility of the land, which in turn will lead to land desertification and soil erosion, which in turn will prompt farmers to increase the use of chemical fertilizers and deepen the degree of land salinization, which is a vicious circle.

At present, the salinization area of the Liaohe Plain is about 30%; The salinization area of the Songnen Plain is about 75%, and the desertification is about 50%. The salinization of the land in the Sanjiang Plain is about 10%.

It can be seen that the land situation in the northeast is not much better than that in the northwest, and the rate of deterioration is even faster due to the impact of excessive agricultural reclamation.

How to solve the problem of land desertification and land salinization

The simplest and most crude way is to return farmland to forests and grasslands.

However, this possibility and enforceability are very low, and as an important domestic commercial grain and soybean planting area, it is impossible for Northeast China to return farmland to forest and grassland on a large scale.

However, in the past few years, the situation in the northeast has improved greatly, thanks to the promotion and development of rural cooperatives and greenhouse farms.

After all, much of the land has been built directly into glass greenhouses or agricultural buildings, so that soil erosion can be curbed.

In addition, refined fertilizer and drip irrigation technology have further suppressed land salinization.

However, the problem of over-exploitation of groundwater has not been completely solved, and only by solving the problem of using groundwater for irrigation and irrational use of chemical fertilizers can we fundamentally curb land salinization.

Due to the experience of saline-alkali land transformation in the North China Plain, it is currently a general saline-alkali land transformation program, which is developed by the Institute of Agricultural Saline-alkali Land Research of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

In the first step, fresh water is used to flood 5 times with pure water, each time for about a week. This step dilutes and dissolves the mineral salts in the soil and carries them away with the river.

The second step is to use livestock manure, kitchen waste, and dead branches and leaves of plants to make organic fertilizer, which is deeply cultivated and incorporated into the farmland soil.

In this way, the soil transformation of saline-alkali land can be initially completed, and then gradually adjusted with fresh water flood irrigation and organic fertilizer in the cultivation process year by year.

In terms of organic fertilizer, Huanong Group has regular collection in farms, pastures, breeding farms and rural cooperatives across the country, and then makes organic fertilizer in a centralized manner.

The only problem now is water.
