Chapter 9: Mutations
While the two were talking, the black shadow that had been standing still rushed towards them again, but this time it was in a way that seemed to be jumping, and it seemed that the weight itself was very small.
"Don't help me. After Tumik finished speaking, he moved his right hand to retract the blade of the long sword in his hand and turn it back into a short sword, then raised his left arm and bent his elbow towards the black shadow that rushed over, and directly pushed it up. Mir, who was in the back, saw this suicidal attack and thought that Tumik had a brain problem, and hurriedly shouted to stop him, and Ayton was also shocked into a cold sweat and almost shouted.
When Tumik came into contact with the black shadow, he didn't pass through it directly like Ayton had done before, and the shadow seemed to change from nothingness to entity after touching Tumik, or more precisely, Tumik's armor with the pattern of the moonlight tree, and the two of them collided solidly. Obviously, the black shadow didn't expect this to be the case, so there was no defense at all, and the original forward posture was hit by Tumik, and Tumik almost flew backwards, and Tumik didn't let go of this opportunity, he immediately crossed his forearm and pushed the part of the armor against the black shadow's throat, and then pressed her all over his body and directly pressed her to the ground. "Done!" Tumik shouted, raising his sword and slashing sideways at the shadow's head. Unexpectedly, Tumik could confront the black shadow that they couldn't touch before, Ayton and Mir were stunned when they saw this scene, but after hearing Tumik's shout, Ayton knew that the opportunity had come, and immediately turned around and rushed towards the black box not far away, and the shield in his hand was raised and ready for a fatal blow.
On the other side, the black shadow that was pressed under Tumik's body actually stretched out his arm to block the sword that was slashed at the head, and the sword body was almost half slashed in, and the black gas that spewed out of the slit swept through the sword body, which was also black, shining with the same silver pattern as Tumik's eyes, faintly appearing in the black mist, and then being re-covered by the sunlight as the mist dissipated. The shadow's featureless face turned to the slashed left arm, and then turned his head to face Tumik, who felt as if he was looking at her, though he had no eyes. Suddenly, the black shadow turned his head and noticed Ayton who was rushing towards the magic coffin, and a layer of black gas suddenly burst out from his body, sending the Tumik top on his body flying, and then turned over and stretched out his right hand in the direction of Ayton. "Ayton, back off!" Tumik, who had just flipped in mid-air and had not yet landed, saw the shadow's movements and hurriedly shouted, and at the same time rushed towards the shadow again after landing to stop her possible next move. Although Ayton heard Tumik's words, he didn't have time to react, and when he saw that the tip of the shield was fixed in the box, he simply made a desperate attempt to launch a cannonball- But the explosion did not come from the attack of the shield cannon, Ayton's screams drew Tumik's attention from the black shadow to the side of the coffin again, only to see Ayton's body fly out and fall to the ground and roll a few times in the smoke and dust, and when he stopped, his right hand that originally held the shield was gone, and blood was pouring out of the severed right arm, but the black shadow in front of him was still lying there, and the raised hand did not seem to have made any attack.
"Ayton!" Mir cried out at the sight of Ayton's tragic condition.
"What's going on?" Tumik gave up his attack on the Shadow and quickly retreated to Mir's side, where he could see both the Shadow and the coffin, he didn't know what was going on on Ayton's side, hoping that Mir would tell him. The black humanoid that fell to the ground turned into a cloud of black mist, and then quickly regrouped back into her previous standing position, but instead of continuing to attack Tumik, she turned her head towards the place where the explosion had occurred, as if she were watching. Ayton struggled to get up, his left hand holding the severed arm barely to stop the bleeding, his face slightly distorted by pain, his eyes fixed on the gradually dissipating smoke, although he was seriously injured, he did not know what was attacked, only that just as he was about to launch an artillery attack, a huge force suddenly hit the front of the shield he had planted in the black box, and then he was sent flying by a huge force.
As the smoke cleared, the coffin was still intact, and Ayton's shield had been pierced through a large hole in the middle of it, and the position of the handle behind the hole had completely disappeared. Four people dressed in the same white robes as the previous black shadow walked out of the darkness of the dense forest and came to stand on both sides of the coffin, but this was the scene in the eyes of ordinary people, and only Tumik's eyes saw that there was a figure shrouded in black mist walking in the middle behind the four people. The black figure came to the coffin and stopped, looking down at Ayton's shield stuck in the coffin, which was pulled out of thin air under the gaze and flew out and fell in front of Ayton.
"Turn it on. The black figure nodded and said to the white-robed figure next to him, it was a male voice. The white robe standing in the front row on either side of him turned to the coffin and leaned over to fiddle with something on the box, and then with a soft sound, the coffin opened from the middle to both sides, but there was nothing inside. He raised his head and looked around, and finally fixed his gaze on the female black figure facing this side not far away, "Did you wake up early...... Huh?" he was saying as he suddenly noticed Tumik looking at him, and while Ayton and Mir were staring at the white robes, only the young man was facing him like a female shadow. "You can see me, but I don't look like an Atlah...... You take it away first, and I'll take care of the rest. After hearing what he said, the four white robes turned and walked to the four corners of the coffin, ready to lift it up.
When the coffin was touched, the black female shadow who was originally just standing there immediately rushed over, but the four white robes didn't seem to care, and still lifted the coffin. The black figure had already walked between them and stood in front of the female black shadow, and he raised his hand and grabbed her neck, "My name is Kodar, and I am the messenger of the oracle of the spirit lord, if you still have the will of the Atlahs, respond to me." The dark shadow named Kodar said as he looked at the female black shadow struggling in his hands, but the others present did not hear this, including Tumik, who could see Kodar, because he used the spirit language that Kakru said was used by the spirit of Atra to communicate with nature, and only the gifted Atra could hear and understand its true meaning. The restrained female shadow didn't react to Kodar's words, she seemed to just want to stop the white-robed man who was carrying the box away, so she kept struggling to shoot black spikes from her hands to attack Kodar who was grabbing her in front of her. But Kodar was unmoved, not even defending against her attacks, and all the spikes dissipated and merged with the black mist on his body as soon as they touched it.
"It seems that I was woken up in advance...... "Kodar muttered no longer looking at the black shadow in his hand, and lifted her up, and the female black shadow that was still struggling violently suddenly froze and then gradually scattered and disappeared without a trace. Retracting his hand, he looked down to see the last trace of the dark shadow in his hand dissipate, and then turned to look at Ayton not far away.
"Ayton! Get out of the way!" Tumik yelled in his heart as he rushed towards Ayton.
Ayton gasped and knelt there, he was confused by what was happening in front of him, first four white-robed men appeared and carried away the black box, and then the black figure who had been fighting Tumik rushed over as if trying to stop them, but as soon as she got closer, she suddenly stopped and could not move forward half a step, although she continued to attack, she could not hit the white-robed people who were gradually disappearing into the dense forest, and finally she floated up and suddenly disappeared. Tumik's shout brought Ayton back to reality, and when he turned his head to answer, he suddenly heard something in his ears, and the shield that had fallen in front of him seemed to move, and then suddenly flew towards him, the blade of the shield shining in the sun. Ayton didn't have much strength left, he tried to dodge, but as soon as he straightened up, the tip of his shield pierced him through his chest! Ayton's mind flashed through a myriad of questions, and he fell to the ground on his back and swallowed his last breath.
Tumik, who was a step late, could only watch Ayton die, and he looked angrily at the murderer, only to find that the black figure had raised his hand and pointed at Mir. For the first time, Tumik felt his powerlessness, and although he yelled for Mir to dodge, he had no idea what kind of attack the shadow would launch. On the other hand, Mir heard Tumik's shout and immediately struggled to get up, but the last sight he saw was that the sword that had fallen to the side suddenly flew towards his neck, and then fell into eternal darkness.
