Have a doctor friend?

The results of my wife's examination are out.

Image Performance:

The contour of the left kidney was significantly enlarged, the structure of the renal pelvis-ureteral transition was unclear, the renal meng and renal calyces were obviously dilated and effusion, and the left renal artery and vein were compressed and displaced. There was no abnormal density shadow in the parenchyma of both kidneys, no abnormal density shadow was found in the right renal pelvis, renal calyceum and ureter, and the shadow was stomberged during ureteral secretion, the bladder was well filled, the wall was smooth, and there was no abnormal density shadow in the cavity.

diagnostic imaging:

Consider left pelvis-ureteral junction stenosis (UPJ0) with hydronephrosis.

The doctor said to pump the stagnant water or put a stent, but the doctor was busy and couldn't ask anything more.

I can't find out the reason after checking it on the Internet for a long time, is there a friend who understands medicine to help explain it in detail?

Is the condition serious? Should I have an open surgery to put a stent?

Thanks!
