(74) Tree vines
As he walked, a wooden sign on the tree caught Yan Moying's eyes, and the wooden sign had the words "The sound of the jade flute calls the shadow".
Yan Moying immediately took out the small jade flute given to him by the old man he met in the dead wood forest and blew it. For a while, the beautiful sound of the flute resounded through the clear sky, and several flying birds lined up in the flute and hovered in front of Yan Moying. Yan Moying stopped to look at them, only to see them spin a few more times, and then began to lead the way for him. The birds led Yan Moying behind a big tree in front of them, and then dispersed.
"Senior, where are you?" Yan Moying couldn't see any figure around the tree, and he didn't know what to do next, so he had to try to call out to the old man he met in the dead wood forest in place.
Just as he was calling, a tree vine quickly burst out and instantly wrapped around Yan Moying's body, wrapping it tightly, throwing him into the air and immediately pulling him back. Then, another vine was not willing to be lonely, reaching out from different directions, and also wrapped around Yan Moying's body. Immediately after, the third and fourth also stretched out and entangled him.
From time to time, metal debris fell from nearby trees and scattered to the ground, but they did not fall on the rattan.
Yan Moying struggled while blaming himself for being careless before. He just felt that his surroundings were so peaceful, and he was careless for a moment, not expecting that there might still be danger in this situation. Now that those rattans are tightly entangled, how can they get out? Yan Moying found that the more he struggled, the tighter the rattan seemed to be entangled, and according to this trend, if he continued to struggle, it would be difficult to ensure that he would not be strangled to death by those rattans.
He found that only his left hand could move within a limited range, so he took the Hun Yuan dagger from his body and cut it towards the rattan. To his surprise, there were no scratches on the rattan where he had cut, but all the metal materials within an inch of the cut point had become the same texture as the Hun Yuan dagger. He laboriously pulled out the sword on his body, and found that when the blade touched the rattan, an inch of the rattan had become the same material as the blade. He was glad that he hadn't used a dagger or sword to slash at each other just now, otherwise the rattan would have become the material of the dagger or sword in many places, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
Yan Moying looked up the tree and found the source of the metal debris floating to the ground—it turned out that there were several pieces of unknown metal rubbing against each other on the tree. The pieces of metal looked rather soft and seemed to rub off the debris with a single rub. Seeing this, he immediately tried to find a way to scatter the debris on the rattan that was wrapping around him, but no matter how much he moved, he still didn't get close enough to where the debris fell. He picked up his sword and reached out to catch it with the tip of the sword, and when beads of sweat oozed from his forehead, some crumbs finally came to the sword. He sprinkled the crumbs on one of the rattans and experimented with them, and sure enough, within an inch it became the softer metal, and as soon as he exerted his strength, the rattan broke off from there. Yan Moying saw that since this could break the rattans, he did not hesitate to scatter the metal chips on the rattans that were wrapped around him. Only heard a few sounds of "click" and "pop", all the rattans were broken, and Yan Moying fell from the sky.
In order to prevent himself from falling to the ground, Yan Moying volleyed a somersault. But after this somersault was overturned, he didn't fall to the ground for half a day.
