Chapter 19: Premeditated
As soon as I pushed open the door of the office, I heard Angelyl's voice.
"Mr. Oreo, have you had lunch?"
Although he was reluctant to admit it, Oreo did gradually get used to Angelyl's presence.
He unbuttoned his collar and said.
"Not yet, today is a day to celebrate, and I'm going to go out to eat."
"Ah......h
Angelyl opened her mouth, "I've got all the ingredients ready, you can just wait a minute." β
Oreo stopped and glanced at the clock, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.
He said confusedly.
"You haven't eaten lunch and have been waiting for me?"
Angelyl shook her head.
"I ate last night, so I'm not hungry all the time."
"Last night?"
Oreo finally remembered something, and he sat back in the big chair and asked curiously.
"Angelil, how did you do last night?"
Angelyl was absentmindedly talking as she cooked the ingredients.
"Not bad."
Oreo nodded, tapping on the table.
"Do you pay attention to the nobles as I said, even the one you hate the most?"
Angelil thought for a moment and whispered.
"Mom didn't let them near me."
"Huh,"
Oreo chuckled, "Wait for the price and sell it, that's really in line with Peggy's style." β
He shook his head and asked.
"Did you keep an eye on your competitors, and did they have any bright spots?"
"Mom asked me that question."
Angelil shook her head and said as a matter of course, "I don't think so." β
β......β
Oreo was momentarily speechless, and it seemed that Angelyl didn't want to discuss the topic with him.
The lunch was quickly prepared, it was a curry potato beef bowl, and the curry that had been cooked for a long time didn't taste good, but it didn't matter.
Oreo ate the contents of the plate, put down the spoon, and stared at Angelyl absently.
Angelyl was furious by him, and she quickly finished the bowl and said indistinctly.
"Isn't it delicious?"
"You're thinking too far."
Oreo shook his head, "I mean the business is all about it." β
"Yes."
Angelyl nodded, and was just about to stand up, when she looked at the bowl in front of her again, and said in a slurred manner.
"Take notes on me, but I'll have to wash the dishes first."
"Go ahead."
Oreo nodded, and sat down in his chair for a while.
Angelyl quickly finished washing the dishes, and she sat down across from Oreo and pulled out a notebook in style.
"Morning...... Mr. Nanger and his employer quarreled over a horsewhip, and I found the lost one.
Then there were two gangs of grooms who quarreled over the turf, and they wanted to ask me to judge, but I didn't know how...... Just a few casual words. β
It's all trivial, but unexpectedly, Oreo shouts praise.
"Angely, you're doing a great job."
It was the first time she was praised like this, and Angelil lowered her head, a little overwhelmed.
After waiting for a while, seeing that Oreo didn't have the idea of speaking, Angelyl said.
"Mr. Oreo, what Mr. Reka explained yesterday ......"
As many times before, Oreo leaned forward, stared into Angelyl's eyes, and said earnestly.
"Angelil, what do you think about this?"
Angelil sorted out her thoughts and said slowly.
"As you said yesterday, Mr. Salman was commissioned by a certain big man to sell the poppies for him."
"I didn't say the second half of the sentence, but that's exactly what I meant."
Oreo nodded, motioning for Angelyl to continue.
Angelyl continued.
"It's illegal to sell poppies, and that big guy doesn't dare to do anything in the open, but Sheriff Reka can't do anything in the open, so he needs to find one...... Find a scapegoat. β
"That's right, I can provide this scapegoat,"
Oreo's expression became excited, "So Angelyl, in order to help Sheriff Reka solve this big case, what are we missing at the moment. β
Angelyl was stunned, then said uncertainly.
"Evidence that they produce poppy candy?"
"That's right."
Oreo spread his hands, "It's the most critical part, but at the moment, I don't have a clue. β
β......β
Angelil opened her mouth wide and let out a slow breath before she said after a long while.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
Seeing what she wanted to say, Oreo directly dismissed her idea.
"Without knowing who was behind it, there was no point in seducing Salman, and besides, he didn't know the exact location of the processing plant."
Angelyl couldn't help but ask.
"Mr. Oreo, what's your plan?"
"Plan?"
Oreo stood up, "My current plan is to take a nice nap, and if nothing else, you can consider going home and resting for a while." β
Angelyl also stood up, glancing at the utility room and whispering.
"I can ...... in the utility room"
Oreo interrupted her.
"The utility room is dirty."
"I know,"
Angelyl hurriedly said, "So I did my cleaning in the morning." β
Oreo rolled his eyes.
"That bed was always sleeping on CuarΓ³n, and he had never liked to take a shower...... You don't even have to change your bed sheets, do you? β
Sure enough, Angelelle nodded as a matter of course.
"Hoo ......"
Oreo breathed a long sigh of relief.
He looked around at his office, which had been cleaned from the inside out for a morning.
It's still crowded, but it's not cluttered.
Before he could speak, Angelyl trotted into the utility room.
Judging from her move of lowering the curtain, this scene was obviously premeditated.
