Chapter 21: The Fireplace
Time flies by like sand at your fingertips.
Over the course of the day, the two of them searched almost every inch of the first floor of the Red Stone Clubhouse.
Except for the burnt inferior handicrafts, the two found nothing.
Tamia stopped where she was, then pulled her collar open and snorted in place, despite her ladylike demeanor.
After a moment's rest, she turned to look at Oreo, who was still wearing his ill-fitting coat, which was now stained with hoarfrost.
"Hey, aren't you hot?"
"Hot?"
Oreo lowered his head, looked at his clothes, and said calmly.
"Get used to it."
Tamia clenched the iron rod in her hand and slashed through the wreckage of the counter with all her might, as she said in surprise.
"Oh my God, you don't usually get heat stroke."
Oreo glanced at the split counter, and saw a glare of white wood that had not been consumed by the fire.
If the Kattu's gang did come in the evening, they could easily spot someone ahead of them, which was obviously a bad move.
However, Oreo didn't have the idea of blaming Tamia, because he didn't even have the strength to speak now, and he really didn't know why Tamia was so energetic.
There was only one area left to be searched, the antechamber area of the Redstone Clubhouse.
Oreo stumbled his cane and walked limply in that direction, but quickly retreated.
"Oops."
"What's wrong?"
Tamia poked her head out as well, and like Oreo, she quickly retreated.
There were several City Patrol members standing on the street outside, and Kathu was at the front of the line saying something.
Tamia squinted at the door.
"Those people are Kathu's henchmen, what are we going to do?"
"Damn, the invisibility is dead, we need to find a place to hide."
Oreo quickly retreated into the ruins, quickly observing a few suitable hiding places, while Tamia stared at Kathu's movements.
After a while, she said in a panic.
"They're in!"
Oreo roared not far away.
"Come here!"
Tamia ran over, and without hesitation, she went straight into the fireplace in front of Oreo, but Oreo stopped where he was, as if thinking about something.
"Hey!" Tamya said anxiously, "What are you doing! ”
The footsteps behind him were too close to have time to go to another hideout.
"I'm sorry for the offense."
Oreo shook his head and plunged headlong into the fireplace.
The fireplace was pitch black, and as his eyes adjusted to the darkness in front of him, Oreo looked left and right at the fireplace.
The fireplace is a common system, and it is quite well preserved, with a vent not far above the heads of the two people, and the air is fairly fresh.
But he didn't hear the wind, it was eerily quiet, and in such silence, Oreo could even hear the expansion and popping of the planks on an extremely subtle level.
Although he is a detective, he will not observe so carefully in most cases.
As for doing it now, partly because it's boring, and partly because it's boring......
"I'm sorry."
Oreo apologized softly, then tried to pull out his right hand stuck in Tamia's chest, but there was limited space in the fireplace.
"Out of the way."
Tamia twisted her head to the side in the dark, wondering if it was really out of the way.
After pulling his hand out, Oreo apologized again.
"I'm sorry."
"Hey!"
Tamia said angrily, "I said it wouldn't get in the way!" ”
Because it was deliberately lowered in the voice, the voice was not fierce, but a little cute.
To alleviate the frustration, Oreo pointed out the fireplace and whispered.
"They should be looking for that thing right now."
Tamia nodded, in response.
God knows why she listened, after all, it was going to be taken by Kathu, and it would be pointless for the two of them to know where it was.
After listening for a while, Tamia found nothing but the thumping of her heartbeat.
"Smack."
There was a sudden sound, and the bricks under Oreo's feet suddenly cracked and fell to the ground.
His face changed drastically, and he hurriedly reached out to support the walls on both sides, but the walls were too narrow, and he couldn't exert his strength at all.
Seeing Oreo's embarrassment, Tamia rolled her eyes and said with a big grin.
"Come to me, I'll hold you."
After struggling in the air for a minute, Oreo finally gave up his struggle, and he slammed into his arms before hugging Tamia.
I thought Oreo would have a sour smell on his body, but apart from the faint smell of head oil, the smell on his body was not unpleasant.
Hey, Tamia, what are you thinking!
Tamia shook her head, subconsciously reaching out her hands before closing them behind Oreo.
"Uh..."
Feeling the slender arms around his waist, Oreo's voice became viscous, but his voice was sincere.
"I'm so sorry."
"Shut up, you."
Tamia rolled her eyes again, then tilted her head to the side as best she could, but it was clearly in vain, and the goosebumps quickly spread down her cheeks and to the base of her ears.
Suddenly, Kathu said something loudly, and the voice diverted the two of them.
"Is that in it?"
"It's it."
"We're going to have to smash this big guy?"
"I brought explosives, do you want to put them on now?"
"Idiot, if you blow up what's inside, you'll be done!"
Oreo sighed at the sound of the voice.
"Looks like it's hidden in the statue in the foyer."
Tamia was about to say something, but there was a clanging sound outside, and she didn't know how the robbers had hidden it in the statue.
After a while, the percussion finally stopped, and Kathu said something excitedly, but the two of them didn't hear it.
But in the next second, the two of them heard Kathu's heart-rending roar.
"Damn! What's inside! ”
"How is that possible? Each safe has only one key, how can something not be inside? ”
There was a jumble of footsteps, and a large crowd surrounded the safe.
Tamia turned her head and whispered.
"Your speculation is not wrong, the robbers and Kathu are indeed colluding."
Oreo nodded, silent.
After searching the safe thoroughly, Kathu slammed the door shut, then looked at the man in front of him.
"Sigger! Only you know where this thing is, if you took it away! ”
The man said with a thunderous roar.
"Kathu, how dare you doubt me? Know that the key is in your hands! ”
"Then you tell me why the contents are missing!"
Gradually, the rest of the people joined the fight.
"God knows! Did the robbers take the things? ”
"They don't have the key!"
"This safe is not the safe, they can force the door open!"
This sentence calmed everyone down, and they looked at the safe carefully, and sure enough, they found a trace of metal welding behind it.
"These bunch of crumbs!"
Kathu roared angrily, "They dare not do things according to the agreement, I will hang them on the head of the city of Turin for three days and three nights!" ”
