Poyang Battlefield Chapter 33 The Dark Room in the Stone

For some reason, I felt that shadow very attractive to me, as if he was calling me to the past.

Without much hesitation, I got up and followed the shadow towards the center of the island.

The path the shadow had walked was the same path we had cut into earlier, and strangely, when I left the beach and entered the grass, I found that the road under my feet was surprisingly smooth, and I thought to myself, could we have cut it all the way so cleanly? Didn't even leave grass stubble?

I walked a few meters along the grass and entered the forest, where the shadow disappeared, and I thought that I would find out his direction first, but when I entered the forest, there was a very flat path paved with stones under my feet.

At this point, I kind of understand that although this path also leads to the center of the island, it is not something we cut before, I am afraid that the shadow has cast some kind of spell to conjure such a path.

Since the trail is conjured, it is obviously prepared for me, so there is no need to find any direction.

I glanced back in the direction of the fishing boat, the bonfire was still burning, there was a faint light in the cabin of the fishing boat, the crescent moon in mid-air reflected the river, and the sound of the river gently lapping the beach in my ears, everything seemed so beautiful and quiet, even the fog shadow that appeared out of thin air seemed less dangerous.

Seeing that there was nothing behind me, I relaxed and boldly walked along the path towards the center of the island.

After entering the forest, the moonlight did not come in due to the shade of the trees, so it instantly turned dark in all directions, but strangely, the path under my feet seemed to glow itself, and in this darkness, I could still see it clearly.

This strange phenomenon made me more and more curious, and I quickened my pace, intent on finding out what was going on with the Fog Shadow.

After a while, I came to the rock, which was still what I had seen during the day, with a huge figure in the center of the island, and now the edge of the boulder was blended with the darkness, so that it looked like an endless stone wall.

The trail was cut off at the foot of the rock, and it seemed that the trail could have continued to move forward, but it was blocked by this rock.

I looked at the rocks and didn't know what to do, the trail was obviously trying to take me somewhere, and the fog had also beckoned me, but when I got here, there was no way.

I stepped forward and touched the rock with both hands, and the rock was hard and rough, no different from ordinary stones, and I thought to myself that since the path went straight through the rocks, it should be a reminder to climb over.

I don't know why, but I was pretty sure I was doing the right thing, and after a little observation, I pressed my body against the rocks and looked around with my hands for a place to stay.

The rock looked very smooth, but when I touched it a few times, I found that there was a groove every foot away, and judging by the feeling of my hand, I could put the soles of my feet into it.

I was overjoyed, and thought to myself that I was quite smart, and if I hadn't thought of a way to touch them, I would have found these grooves with my eyes alone.

Now that you've found a way, what are you waiting for?

I spat on my palms, rubbed my hands together, and climbed up on the rocks with my hands and feet.

I didn't have to look with my eyes, I relied on the feeling of my hands and feet to find a foothold, but I didn't expect it to work, the grooves that I couldn't see seemed to be carved out for climbing, and I climbed into the middle of the rock with little effort.

But as soon as I climbed to the middle, I found another problem, although I could continue to climb, but the angle of the rock became smaller and smaller, and if I climbed a few meters higher, the rock almost became an obtuse angle, and even if there was a place to settle on it, it became a problem whether I could hold on to it.

I was so bent on finding that fog shadow that I didn't bother to bother so much, thinking that I would climb up first, and then maybe there would be some other "mechanism" on it to help me climb up?

I climbed up quickly with a momentum, but I didn't expect to climb up several meters, I was secretly happy in my heart, suddenly felt my fingers moving slowly, I was shocked, I felt my hand into the groove and grabbed hard, but this grasp immediately scared me out of a cold sweat.

My hands felt like they were greased, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't grasp the grooves, and my legs were falling so hard that it felt like I was hanging upside down from the ceiling.

At this time, not to mention climbing up, even climbing down I feel that I can't move my legs and feet, I use my hands and legs to make a lot of effort, for fear that I will fall off as soon as I unload the force.

But after all, people's strength is still limited, even if I have been beaten in the reconnaissance company, compared to ordinary people, I still have the strength to do it, and I can't stand it after holding on for a while.

I estimated the height of the climb, about more than ten meters, falling from such a height, as long as I control it well, I can't fall to death, but injuries are inevitable, and if I don't get it right, I have to break my arm.

I think that when we were even engaged in parachute diving training, I was never so scared when I was kicked off the plane by the company commander, and this feeling of knowing that I would be injured but there was nothing I could do was really different.

As I was thinking about where I should land, a strange thing occurred to me.

This rock looks no more than two or three stories high during the day, more than ten meters at most, but I have now climbed to a height of more than ten meters, but I find that it is not yet the end, not only that, I looked up, the top of this rock melted into the darkness, as if there was no head.

It's weird, could it be that this stone has grown taller by itself?

However, I was only surprised for a moment, and then refocused my attention on myself, after all, no matter how strange this rock was, it was not as important as my own body.

I gripped my hands to the groove and moved my foot down, thinking to myself that even if I had to fall, I would try to lower myself as low as I could.

However, when I managed to move one foot, and then the other, my foot, which was already firmly established, suddenly slipped down, and then I lost the strength of my fingers, and the whole person fell like this.

Anyone who has ever jumped an elevation or fallen from a height knows that the process of falling seems to others to be just a moment, but to themselves it seems like a long time.

That's how I feel at the moment, as if I'm falling all the time, as if there's no end down there.

I was stunned in the air, and when I came back to my senses, I realized that something was wrong, no matter how slow my feeling was, it should have fallen to the ground after so long.

I even spun my head in the air to see what was going on, and as soon as I turned my head, I saw myself plunging headlong into the rock beneath me.

Just as I closed my eyes and prepared to make a close encounter with the rocks, I suddenly realized that I had fallen firmly on the ground without pain or injury, as if I had been lying on the ground all along.

Intrigued, I got up from the ground and looked around, but it was still dark.

I turned around a few times and suddenly noticed a bright spot in the darkness that seemed to be far away, and I had no choice but to look for it.

I moved my feet and found that my feet were very soft, as if I was walking on a sofa, I reached out and touched it, but found that the hard road under my feet was still paved with sand and gravel, the same place, my hands and feet felt different?!

I continued walking towards the light, and after about ten minutes, I finally found myself getting closer and closer to the light.

But the closer I got to see that the light was fainter, not like a fire or a lamp.

After walking for more than ten minutes, I finally came to the light.

When I looked to the ground, I saw that the light was actually a stone, but it was much smaller than the huge rock that had been rambling before, and the edge of the stone could be clearly seen.

The stone rests against a mound and the whole shape looks like a huge mound of graves, and the stone resembles a tombstone.

The stone had been carved out of a hollow the size of an ordinary door, and it was pitch black and seemed to be quite deep.

I stretched out my hand and touched the hole, but I didn't touch it to the end, I thought to myself, could it be that there is a dark room in here?

At this time, I regretted that I had come in too much of a hurry, and I knew that I should be ready to come again, at least I had to bring a flashlight or headlamp.

But now that I'm here, I don't want to toss back and forth again, so I hesitate for a moment, and then plunge headlong into the hollow.

It may be that my eyes began to adjust to the darkness after entering the hollow, and I found that it was not completely dark inside, and I could still see the outline of the inside in the haze.

It was indeed a dark room, small enough, but large enough for me to walk upright, even a cut above my head.

The entire chamber is an irregular rectangle, surrounded by solid rock, which appears to have been carved out of the woods.

In the innermost part of the dark room, there was a desk, and there were three incense burners on the desk, and some incense burners were inserted in it, and it seemed that a long time had passed.

There is a wooden plank embedded in the wall next to the desk, about two meters wide, which connects directly from the ground to the top, and there is also a wooden board on the ground in front of the desk, about the size of a door, which is probably used to place futons and other things.

Curious, I stomped my feet on the plank twice, only to find a loud echo below, as if it were empty underneath, so I quickly knelt down and groped twice along the edge of the board.

Somehow, I noticed that there was an iron ring or something buried under the gravel on one side of the plank, and I turned the ring out, and with a strong lift, I lifted the whole plank.

Sure enough, there was an opening under the plank, and in the mouth was a stone staircase, and the stone steps had no end in sight in the dark, but I guess there was a dark room underneath.

I said that the plank was lifted in its entirety, set aside, and crept down the stone steps.
