Chapter 30: Sandstorms
"Uncle Buck, do you know how to count money?"
After three hours and minutes, Buck finally knew what it really meant.
But knowing that he knows, looking at the horse boy in front of him, he is still in a trance.
"Uncle Buck, Uncle Buck?"
Oreo reminded him quietly.
Buck coughed twice and prepared to speak.
To be honest, he looked a little embarrassed, but the group of ponies was no better.
They were looking in a certain direction in unison, and when they heard Buck's cough, they quickly turned their heads, but their eyes kept glancing in that direction as if they were attracted by something.
- Ten minutes ago, their former head disappeared in that direction.
"Hmm..."
Like a shy girl who rarely speaks, Buck slurred, "Everyone...... Well...... Pay this month's rent...... Then disband. ”
Oreo reminded.
"Phil stays."
Buck nodded, babbling.
"Yes, Phil stays."
The thugs lined up and handed the money bags to Buck in turn.
It's not quite the same as I said beforehand, Buck's money counting skills are not very good, but I believe that with more practice, it will always get better.
After paying the rent, the thugs tiptoed and cautiously left for fear of disturbing Buck.
After the crowd left, Oreo looked at the last man left.
"Phil, what did you mean just now that we're going to hand over the money to that Director Bowen?"
Phil said nervously.
"Yes, the thugs in the city are all under the control of Director Bowen, and most of the money will eventually be handed over to him."
"In other words, it was his order to collect rent in advance."
Oreo nodded. "Does he usually have a habit of collecting rent in advance?"
Phil thought for a moment and quickly shook his head.
"No, it is said that Director Bowen is also working for a certain big man."
Oreo nodded, speaking quietly.
"Okay, go about your own business."
Phil nodded, glanced at the direction where Ren Boss had disappeared in front of him, and then walked away quickly.
After taking two gold coins from Buck and giving him some simple instructions, Oreo and Cuarón left the camp together.
It was nearly evening when he came out of the bungalow, and Oreo was in place, looking up at the sky, and muttered.
"Caron, it's really a mountain rain and a wind is coming."
Caron raised his head, the desert sun was always so bright, there was no sign of a change.
He lowered his head and asked in a low voice.
"Young Master, what should I do next?"
Oreo pondered for a moment, then continued.
"Catou should have arrived, send someone to lead him to Kelvin, and we'll get out of here after recording the evidence."
"Young Master." Caron muttered.
"You really don't care what that thing is?"
"Care, of course care."
Oreo spread his hands, "But what can I do, that thing can't fall into the hands of untouchables like us." ”
"But..."
Cuarón's lips moved, and his face was full of desire.
Oreo shook his head.
"You're saying we can make a fortune from the chaos, right? But I think it's going to be a good time now, and I don't want to let these things mess up my life anymore. ”
Cuarón lowered his head.
"As you wish."
Oreo wandered the street with Cuarón for a while, then found a random bar, and the two sat in the corner, drinking the cheapest dark beer.
When night fell completely, and after receiving the waiter's eyes, Caron slowly stood up.
He looked at Oreo and nodded heavily.
This means that Kathu has already met with Kelvin.
"Very well, this will be over tonight."
Oreo handed the waiter a gold coin and walked out of the bar quickly.
Cuarón followed suit, and walked with Oreo in the direction of the inn.
The two walked for a while, and Oreo asked suddenly.
"By the way, how many people did Kathu bring with him?"
The streets were bustling with people, and Caron kept his voice under control.
"Eighty."
"Eighty?"
Oreo gave a suspicious look and patted Cuarón on the shoulder.
Because of the height difference, this action is really funny.
"Stay safe."
"Young master, don't worry."
Caron nodded, turned into another fork in the road, and the two parted ways.
Oreo soon arrived at the hotel, but unlike in the morning, the people who were in charge of monitoring on the first floor of the hotel were nowhere to be seen.
Judging by the fact that Kelvin has transferred all of his men, he must have made a big move tonight.
"How can I help?"
The voice of the proprietress suddenly came.
Knowing that his movements were a little strange, Oreo shook his head, walked briskly to the second floor, and after a while walked down with two bags on his back.
The proprietress poked her head out from behind the counter again.
"Sir, are you going to leave overnight?"
"Yes,"
Seeing that the proprietress was about to stop talking, Oreo then asked.
"What's wrong?"
The proprietress looked out the window with a worried expression.
"I've heard that there's going to be a sandstorm tonight, and I don't know if it's true."
"Sandstorm?"
Oreo thought for a moment, then walked out.
"Anyway, I need to get out of this place."
The proprietress didn't say anything more, but beckoned the clerk to go to the stable to lead the horses, and the two military horses were quickly led out.
The young man put on his harness earnestly, and it took a while for him to recognize Oreo, and he said in surprise.
"My lord, have you heard of the sandstorm at night?"
"I heard,"
Oreo nodded, "It's not far from the Bleak Winddale, where I can take shelter from the sandstorm." ”
The man put the last set of harness on and handed the reins to Oreo.
"It looks like you're in an emergency, I wish you a good trip."
"Not a tricky question,"
Oreo smiled, "I'm just a little homesick." ”
"Homesick? Aren't you from the Venada Empire? ”
The man was stunned, knowing that he had lost his words, and then said apologetically.
"My lord, I offended."
"I'm from the Venada Empire, but my home is in Turin."
Oreo waved the reins and drove the carriage out of the courtyard, ready to go.
Caron should be almost there.
Knowing that the sandstorm was coming, the young man stopped chatting with Oreo, and locked the doors of the stables one by one, so that the horses would not run out into the streets.
As he locked the last stable, a chill suddenly came out of the soles of his feet, and he shivered with cold.
He glanced at the sky, and the clouds soon obscured the moon, and a sandstorm was coming.
"Oh my God."
He shuddered with fright, scrambled to lock up the last stable, and ran in a panic towards the hotel.
He shouted as he passed the carriage.
"Sir! Sandstorm is coming! Are you going to enter the hotel! ”
"No, I don't."
Oreo then stood up, his eyes narrowed as he looked out at the sky in the distance, the dark clouds that brought back terrible memories that he had hidden deep in his heart.
He gave himself a slap in the face and turned to look at the end of the street.
Why hasn't Caron come yet!
