Chapter 120 The Golden Soup Village of the Past and the Camp of the Wood Beetle (II)
The demon slave will have a cold face,
"How many people came? What's the way? β
"There is only one person, a masked woman, who claims to be the King of Tianzong Jinna."
"King Jinna?
This woman has always been a loner, and she waits for the water of the well with me and does not interfere with the water of the river.
Why did she come? β
The demon slave looked at the brahmin.
The latter shrugged his shoulders, apparently unable to answer the question either.
"It's all here, so please come in and talk.
She came alone, and she didn't necessarily swallow us. β
"Hmm!"
The Demon Slave nodded and said to the spy,
"Let her in. Take her straight to the castle tower chamber. β
"Yes!"
A string of silver bell-like laughter rang out in the council room, and a young girl with a good figure in black veil, masked, floated in.
"What a coincidence that King Jin has come!
Do you have the heart to come to see my joke? β
The Demon Sealing Slave asked angrily.
"Yo, is this the Yaksha King's hospitality?
The little woman came alone, just for fear of causing misunderstanding among the Yaksha kings.
I'm not here to see your jokes.
Although the eight kings of Tianzong usually dominate one side, they are one after all.
I'm here to help you hunt ghosts. β
"Oh? That's a good idea.
Seal back, watch the seats, serve tea, and be on guard behind closed doors. β
The Demon Slave officially sat down with the King of Jin with a welcome gift, and then asked,
"How did King Jin know that I was changing?"
"My spies told me that someone was using the Virgen Shuttle to deliver messages in Ikingburg.
I've always had an obsession with the position of the Holy Maiden, and you know that.
So when I got the news, I rushed to it immediately. β
The demon slave raised his eyebrows,
"King Jin has put spies in my stockade? What is this desire? β
The Jingon King's veil obscured her expression, but it was not difficult to distinguish the taste of cunning from her voice,
"Yaksha King, you have misunderstood.
My spies are not targeting Yi Jingzhai.
Speaking of which, this man should also know the king of the Yakshas,
He is the Tiannu of the Slashing Snake Mountain Villa, ranking fourth.
He hasn't been summoned for the past few days, so he guess something bad has happened, right? β
"Ding Si ......? He, indeed, is dead. β
King Jin turned his head and picked up a corner of tulle, took a sip of tea, and moved elegantly and calmly.
He suspected that the saint was already at the moment, and remotely controlled an important person in the village to commit murder.
This person is likely to have come from the Snake Slashing Villa, as Ding Si found traces of the Holy Maiden on a pillar near his residence. β
"The Holy Maiden has not appeared in the rivers and lakes for more than ten years, how does Ding Si know?"
"Ding Si is Liu Chang's cousin. Naturally, I know about Saintess Fernandes. β
The ten finger marks of Tianzong correspond to the sect leader, the holy woman, and the eight kings.
The saint is the son of Tianzong, and she is generally packaged by the organization to become a celebrity, responsible for the collection and distribution of news, and has a high status.
The last saintess was from the Shenjian Villa branch, the daughter of the Ben Xie clan.
The Xie family is the mother family of Liu Chang, the owner of the Snake Slashing Villa.
If Ding Si is the Xie family, there is nothing strange about knowing the Holy Maiden.
The inheritance of the saint has always been extremely secretive, once the identity of the saint is revealed, she must give up the token Jade Maiden Suo and choose the saint again.
In that year, the saint daughter of the Xie family married thirty parties and handed over the jade girl shuttle.
Tianzong re-selected the Holy Maiden, and there were five finalists, and King Jin was one of the five.
It's just that King Jin is a high-profile person, and he accidentally lost his mouth when he was shortlisted, so he was defeated.
As for who the other four people were, only the uncertain Tianzun himself knew.
It is said that there was some change during the selection of the saints, and the new saintess who inherited the saints died violently for no reason, and the saints disappeared.
And the Holy Maiden's intelligence network was inherited by Tianzun in addition.
Now that the Holy Maiden has reappeared in the rivers and lakes, is it the return of the Holy Maiden back then, or has Tianzun cast another one and secretly chose the Holy Maiden?
This answer can't even be said by the three big guys who are the eight kings of Tianzong.
"The Holy Maiden wants to attack me Yi Jingzhai?"
"It's not the saintess who wants to attack you, but the king of Wei.
He sent Tan Jun Qingyun to explore your reality first.
This boy is full of scheming, and he must have done something to you.
And the missing saint is likely lurking around him.
The spies I planted in Baoyi sent news that the latest evidence appeared at the scene of the murder in Lufu, and it was engraved with the mark of the Holy Maiden.
It shows that the saint was involved in the case of Lu Fu.
Qingyun and the Tanzong Shuangshu beside him were also on the scene at that time!
Now that the Holy Maiden has entered Yijing Village, it is obvious that the people who followed Qingyun have infiltrated it.
You and I join forces, I want a saint, wouldn't it be nice for you to capture Qingyun? β
The Demon Slave pouted,
"King Jin's eyeliner is all over the world, hasn't he inherited the intelligence network of the Holy Maiden?"
"Yaksha King, you don't know the rules when you ask this."
The demon slave looked up and laughed,
"I understand, I understand! It's me who shouldn't ask. β
The brahmin, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly interjected,
"How does King Jin want to catch ghosts?"
"I want to know what troubles Yi Jingzhai has encountered recently, the more detailed the better.
You have to follow the vine to touch the melon. β
The Demon Slave sighed,
"Hey, it's more than trouble! It's a long story~"
It's really a long story, and the three of them chatted for most of the night, and then they killed themselves inexplicably, and finished a series of weird and strange tales about the culprit.
"I want to see the body of the culprit."
King Jin suggested.
The three came to the morgue, and the body of the culprit had been pre-disposed of.
Clothes removed, wounds scrubbed, apparently several rounds of examination.
"The fatal wound was shot into the throat at close range by a hidden object.
This open wound to the larynx was made during an examination of the injury. β
Jin Wang frowned slightly,
"With the culprit's cultivation, what kind of person can shoot a hidden weapon into his mouth at close range?"
The demon slave and the brahmin looked at each other and shook their heads in unison.
This shows that the culprit has been restrained at that time.
I have read the battle report of the First World War in Jinan.
It is said that Danzong's Qingyun has a strange magic weapon on his body, which can use the Thunder Escape Technique to make people stiff.
He once carried this treasure and single-handedly broke through the defenders of the West Gate. β
Seal the demon slave and brush the beard,
"In other words, that kid has already infiltrated the Ben family?"
"We don't know yet. After all, the magic weapon is a foreign object.
If everyone can drive it, it doesn't necessarily prove that the Buddha-figure has arrived. β
King Jin said as he carefully examined the incision on the culprit's left arm,
"This sword, well, should look like this."
King Jin suddenly got up, pulled out the long sword behind his back, and pulled his feet,
People are like full bows, Qingfeng is like arrows, and when they spit out their strength, they will open like the wind and tide on the sea!
This sword actually drew up the seven or eight points of the essence of the sect's swordsmanship.
"This, isn't this...... Long wind and waves, Zongyu's mastery? β
Feng Demon Nu was a Hualang of Wei Hou in his early years, and he also had several encounters with the Southern Dynasty Kulu Zongyu.
The two of them are hostile, so naturally they are greeted by swords, so the demon slave is no stranger to the swordsmanship of the sect.
"Really? It is said that Zong Luoyun, the son of Zong Yu, has been undercover in the Snake Slashing Villa for decades, just to kill the culprit.
The king of Wei used this as bait and summoned him to the north.
This person is now traveling with Qingyun. β

The author often challenges some well-known opinions on social platforms, and recently there has been a big battle. The argument for this challenge is not new, and the myth has been spreading for some time. It is known that the Chinese population in the Three Kingdoms once plummeted, which was related to years of war and Cao Cao's massacres during this period. The "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms" repeatedly recorded that Cao Cao slaughtered the city, and Liu Bei's record is excellent, so Cao Cao is the culprit of the sharp decline in population.
We would like to clarify one thing about this statement first. The meaning of the word Tu is very different from that of the two Han Dynasty and now. "Sayings" Tu, ε³also. And ε³ means to dissect. "Zhou Li" all slaughterers, their skin, horns, muscles and bones, enter the Jade Mansion. These two interpretations are the standard interpretations of Tu characters before the Han Dynasty: 1. Break, dissect. 2. A profession in which the fruits of hunting are stripped of the horns and bones. In the Book of Han and the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms, the basic meaning of slaughtering a city is to attack and break through the city (a detailed explanation is attached). It wasn't a massacre.
There are many reasons for the sharp decline in the official population of the three countries. First of all, the author has repeatedly reminded that the statistics of the population of the two Han Dynasty are not all the population, but the taxpayer population. In ancient times, the method of counting food and goods was not to go from house to house, as is the case now, but to convert the population according to taxes. This does not include the scholars (those who eat the food of the lord), the staff (those who eat the offerings of the master's family), and the retail households who do not distinguish between the king's fields. In ancient times, twenty fields were granted and sixty fields were returned, that is, taxes were paid only between this age group, and it was only during this period that they could be included in the statistics. Therefore, in the census of the Eastern Han Dynasty, each county of Yongliang had only a population of thousands, but it could derive Dong Zhuo, Ma Teng, Han Sui, Bian Zhang, Song Jian and other princes. The official population is centrifuged.
Regarding the population of the three countries, I will focus on it when I write about the three countries. Here we will focus on the interpretation of the word Tu.
Many people cite counter-examples of the Tu character explaining killing, but these examples are all from the Tang Dynasty onwards. This statement was first put forward by the famous interpreter Yan Shigu, and the original words are as follows: Tu, which means to destroy the city. Kill them, like six animals. First of all, this sentence says that Tu means to break the city. This is followed by an explanation, (because) killing is like killing an animal. (So) there is this analogy. The word slaughter, which was originally used to kill animals, was extended to kill, which was used to refer to the destruction of the city. Therefore, the destruction of the slaughter of the city must be a siege, and the destruction of the city with heavy casualties.
Also supporting this point of view is that "Historical Records Suoyin" is also a Tang Dynasty book, which cites a lonely evidence: according to Fan Yeyun, Kecheng was killed many times, so Yun Tu also. Where Fan Ye's sentence comes from, there is no test. But in fact, this sentence is the same as Yan Shigu: conquering the city killed many people, so it was called a slaughter. Students with high scores in reading comprehension should be able to sort out the main stem, and this sentence explains why Kecheng is called Tu, and the logical inheritance of the word "so" is very important.
Therefore, the fundamental meaning of Yan and "Suo Yin" is the same: Tu is the meaning of breaking the city, but it is not an ordinary breaking of the city, but a siege of the city with great casualties.
Some people say that the author is using translation to play word games. Definitely. Because Yan Shigu and Fan Ye's annotations quoted in the "Index" are both annotated in the same place. It is the section of Gaozu Tu Pei in the Book of Han. The original text is as follows:
There are hundreds of people in the ancestors. β¦β¦ Gao Zu is a book and silk shot on the city, and Pei's father said: "The world has suffered Qin for a long time." Although the father and the elder are guarding Pei, the princes are rising, and now they are slaughtering. Pei Jin issued a decree to choose to stand up to respond to the princes, that is, the end of the house. Otherwise, both father and son will be slaughtered, and nothing will be done. β
It is well known that Liu Bang is a Pei person, Liu Bang rebelled, and hundreds of people gathered at that time. Pei Ling confronted him. Liu Bang shot a book into the city, saying that I was going to slaughter Pei today, and the old folks either rebelled with me, or everyone was killed and injured ugly. In this context, Yan Shigu and Suo Yin are clearly right, Liu Bang threatens to break the city at any cost, not to slaughter in the modern sense. Killing his hometown fathers and elders, emotionally he can't do it, and he can't do it with hundreds of people under his command. This allusion just shows that the slaughter of the two Han Dynasty refers to the siege of the city, not the slaughter of Yunyun today.
If the judge still feels ambiguous, today we can do an unprecedented extreme explanation. The author has counted all the places where the Tu character appears in the "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms", a total of 58 places, including 25 places in this biography and 33 places in Pei Note, and we use the exhaustive method to explore the true meaning of the Tu character at that time.
First of all, the author has sorted out these 58 different explanations for Tu Zi:
A. The structure of the slaughter of the city of X, that is, the interpretation of the slaughter of the city that we need to discuss, there are 18 places in total.
B. Apparently interpreted as the use of destroying a city defense (object for wall, wall, etc.) or conquering (slaughter). There are 9 locations in total.
C. Occupation, butcher, or slaughtering livestock. There are 4 locations in total
D. Surname or proper noun (Xiongnu Hutu, Tu Gebu, Futu, Tu Su, etc.). There are 15 locations in total
E. used against killing, killing. The slaughter of the city and the killing of officials are expressed separately. There are 2 locations in total
F. Slaughter, the meaning of defeat. Slaughter is used in conjunction with the killing of an individual. There are 10 locations in total

On the whole, out of all the 58 places, only 20 of them belong to the concept of ancient city slaughter, and the remaining 38 places have nothing to do with city massacre.
The common characteristics of these 20 slaughtered cities are fierce battles, fortified cities, large numbers of enemy troops, and tragic city attack and defense.
There are several records here that are very illustrative, first of all, "The Biography of Huang Gai": Jianxue, Gai Suice and power, armoured around, and slaughtered the city with a blade. This sentence is ironclad evidence that the slaughter of the city is explained by the force of the battle to break the city, and there is no possibility to interpret it as a massacre.
The second is Sun Quan's Li Shu: he slaughtered his city, the head of the sword, and migrated more than 30,000 people. Li Shu's forces had 3,000 officers and soldiers (Sun Cechuan) and tens of thousands of bandits (Liu Fuchuan). After Sun Quan broke the city, he could still recruit 30,000 people, that is, there was no massacre, and the numbers would not lie.
The only one associated with the massacre is Cao Cao's famous black spot. However, this account is from Pei's note "Cao Concealment Biography", and this article is dedicated to Cao Cao. Whether Pei's note is credible or not, we have to analyze the classics. Cao Concealment was made by an anonymous Wu person, similar to a battle leaflet, and it was completely a play to slander the enemy generals. It said that Cao Cao wandered invisibly when he was young, pretending to have a stroke to escape blame. I like to be in the company of advocacy. The expedition card is big, and he sits on the bed. Ma Chao came to intercept, Cao Cao was still sitting on the Hu bed, and he was killed. There is also the famous stalk of touching the blonde hill from here, which is the culmination of Cao Cao's black material, and it is also the historical body that all those who attacked Cao Cao used as the original canon of the "Three Kingdoms".
The Xuzhou massacre caused the Surabaya to break the flow, which is also a stalk that flows out here. It's just that in the original text, Cao Cao's killing of tens of thousands of people in Surabaya and the slaughter of Zhuxian are divided into two sentences, and there is an obvious chronological order. That is to say, beheading and slaughtering are two different things, although they have happened, but they should not be confused.
To sum up, the usage of the word slaughter in the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" has almost nothing to do with the concept of massacre today. The extension of the object of the verb slaughter from beast to man is the result of a long period of development in linguistics. The interpretation of the Tang Dynasty is still not much different from that of the Han Dynasty on the whole. We can't use modern language to write history books.
As for why Liu Bei didn't "slaughter the city"? Because he really hasn't fought a battle in a city. When he entered Sichuan, he besieged Fucheng, and at that time, Liu Bei's soldiers were mainly the soldiers given to him by Zhang Lu, as well as the newly surrendered Wu Yijun and Li Yanjun. They can besiege the city, but they can't really tear their faces with their colleagues for so many years.
