Chapter 4 Childhood Toys
Every child's childhood has some fond memories, and I am no exception.
When I was younger, I didn't have a mobile phone, I didn't have a computer, and I didn't even have a TV. We can only play with our little friends in the village and invent some small toys to entertain ourselves. Toys are one of the most important components of childhood, and although life was once poor, it was also very warm. A few children can play together for a day, and they are so happy that they even forget to go home for dinner. It wasn't until my mother called our names at home that I reluctantly went home.
Childhood is actually very happy, and toys are basically made by yourself. Although the toys are much better now than I was back then, I still miss the toys of my childhood, and I feel more interesting and warm.
There is a slingshot made of tree forks, the surface is wrapped with plastic film several times to prevent the fork from being strangled, and then a rubber band or the valve core of the bicycle is tied to the tree fork. The little brother in the village did a good job, he could use it to shoot birds, and if he hit it, he would take it home and roast it to eat. Other boys hit bottles with slingshots to see who could hit them. And I just imitated it for fun, picked up a stone and put it on a rubber band and popped it up, and shot it on the water, which was also fun.
When I got tired of playing with the slingshot, I went to the field and picked up the bamboo used to build the fence as a fishing rod, and the needle for mending clothes was bent into a hook with a hammer. When I was a child, the water quality in the river was not bad, especially after the rain, the water surface was clear, the fish were bouncing on the water, and there were scattered small shrimp floating in the aquatic plants on the shore. So I went to the field and dug up several earthworms, cut them into several pieces, hung them on the hooks and threw them into the river. I rarely catch grass carp, and I often catch scavengers, which are not tasty, and are usually thrown on the side of the road when caught.
I often see the little brother in the village skillfully pick a piece of tile on the side of the road, squat down, throw it casually, "swish-" sound, the tile skimmed the water, "swish-swish-swish" three times in a row, and landed on the opposite bank, leaving only three round ripples on the water surface. This skill, I can see that my eyes are straight! So I picked up the tiles on the side of the road and threw them on the water in his own way. I could only make the tiles bounce on the water twice at most, and I was not as good as others, but I still felt that I was very good and learned a new skill.
There are also hand-made paper boats, floating on the surface of the water and letting it swim away. If it is successful, the paper boat can swim far away, and if it fails, it will sink to the bottom after not going far. The children in the village like to compare whose paper boats are farther away. Another hand-folded paper airplane will also compete to see who flies higher and farther. And I can do well sometimes, but most of the time it's average, and it's not up or down.
The most popular games for the boys in the village are yo-yos and spinning tops. Boys who play well are especially fond of showing off, and they are looking for their peers to go head-to-head. However, I can't play this kind of technical stuff well, so I basically don't participate in it, and this thing is relatively expensive.
My sister and I also love to turn over the hand rope, and tie the head and tail with a random rope. You can play by yourself or by two people. Through the flexible support of the fingers of both hands, hooking, picking, turning, retracting, and putting some movements, you can turn out a variety of vivid and interesting patterns. A rope can be played anytime and anywhere, a single player can play multiplayer, a rope with dexterous fingers, you can flip out a lot of tricks, whoever turns the knot will lose.
I remember that my younger siblings and I loved to play hide and seek at home, and at first it was a guess fight, and the one who lost stood outside the door, and the other two people looked for a place to hide. Hiding in the closet, under the bed, on the bed, everywhere, often hiding covered in sweat. It doesn't stop at night, it's noisy, my parents are resting and I'm woken up, and I'm often pulled out by my parents and knocking on the door of my brain.
When I was a child, my favorite thing to play was bouncing glass balls, also known as marbles. Ordinary marbles cost a dime or two, and beautiful and shiny ones are a little more expensive. Marbles also contributed a lot of joy to my childhood, with a few children squatting on the ground and playing marbles with their hands. Wealthy kids basically win by skill, and of course, there are also through Raippi.
To play marble, you must first choose a "battlefield", which is just a small mound with a slope and a place to cover. Pick up the branch next to you and mark out this piece. Then the friends stand in a row side by side, standing and throwing their marbles into the battlefield, which is equivalent to joining the battlefield, and everyone has a relatively random position. The next step was to go to war, and the order was determined by rock-paper-scissors. The first hand has a lot of advantages in this game, and you can use your own marbles to hit other people's marbles. If you succeed in knocking someone else's marble out of the boundaries you drew before, you win; If someone else's doesn't go out, and your own goes out, you lose. Both of them are out, it's a tie, and if it's a tie, you have to serve again. The loser will give the winner a marble. Generally, the marbles that participate in the war are very beautiful, and they will not be given, and those who lose are ordinary marbles in their pockets.
Another way to play marble is to find an open, hard flat ground and make a hole in the ground with a stone, or turn the hole in the ground with your heels. Draw a straight line a little farther away from the entrance of the cave, and the two of them stand on the same straight line and play the glass ball into the hole, and the person who is closer to the hole will play first. Whoever has the glass ball to go to the hole has the initiative, and everyone wants to go to the hole. The person who entered the hole tried his best to bounce the opponent's with his own glass ball, and only heard a snap, and the ball was knocked away, and he was considered to have won; After the other one is gone, he goes into the hole again, repeats the above operation, knocks the ball away, and he wins again.
When I was a child, there was a kind of sticker that could be pressed on the book or arm to tear off the transparent film, and the pattern could be printed on the book or arm. Sometimes I think it looks good, and I put stickers on the walls or chairs of my home, and they are all over the house. Mom and Dad shook their heads, let's not stick it messily, we are still not obedient, we will secretly post it in places that Mom and Dad can't see, such as sticking it on the arms of our younger brothers and sisters, and then laugh proudly.
Another type of paper is called a picture. Character pictures are a dime a large sheet, and then cut into small sheets and become cards for children's play. There are various kinds of content on the cards, most of which are cartoon content, such as gourd baby, black cat sheriff, etc. A few friends gathered around to shoot pictures, and when they came home, their hands were black.
There is also a very strange kind of Christmas tree that grows (paper tree flowers). "Christmas Tree Flowering" uses the principle of crystallization, when the paper tree is immersed in the aqueous solution of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, the solution diffuses in the paper tree by capillary action, and as the water evaporates, crystallization will occur. The colored pigments are absorbed by the crystals, which also forms colorful "flowers". When I was a child, I didn't know what principle this used, I just thought it was amazing. This kind of Christmas tree is very attractive to children, especially children.
Children with better family backgrounds will buy military flags, checkers, Go, flying chess, backgammon, beast chess, chess, etc., this kind of flag can not be played by one person, must be more than two wins and losses, in order to feel the joy of playing chess.
