Chapter 3: Traumatic Dreams
To the disappointment of the protagonist, the rain did not stop until nightfall.
The protagonist sees the light dimming little by little, the sun descends from a gap in the clouds, emitting afterglow between the clouds on the horizon, and then completely falls below the horizon in a moment, and when the light returns, only shade and dampness are left in the sky.
The heavy dark clouds did not dissipate, and after the wind and rain stopped, the long rain was like an army good at protracted warfare, besieging the fleet, so that the protagonist had to surrender and admit defeat.
The protagonist struggles to look out over the shore and identify his current location based on some striking landmarks. He had walked this road several times, flown over and by boat, and was very familiar, as long as he could see a few specific hills or boulders, a few striking old trees, he could know the direction of the fleet, and how far away from the course he had.
But the sky was dim, and even when the raindrops were at their thinnest, dark clouds still blocked out most of the daylight, and in the distance, shadows were so strong that you could occasionally distinguish some shadows that were deeper than the background of the sky, that is, the land, and it was impossible to see the details.
As the time has fallen into the night, it is impossible, and there is no way to cross the rope bridge to reach the other cabins after seeing the surroundings clearly, so the protagonist has to return to the cabin in a huff. He didn't know where the fleet had gone, nor did he know what was going on in the other cabins, so he could only wait quietly for tomorrow.
The protagonist has previously ordered that once the cabin is sealed, no walnut ship is allowed to open the door on its own without a messenger sent by the protagonist.
This is for safety reasons, if the hatch is opened at the wrong time, a large wave rushes in, which may cause the ship to sink and die. If multiple ships sink into the water, it may also cause the entire fleet to be dragged down.
Anyway, there is grain in every ship, except for special grain ships, ships with more ants have less grain in them, but they are enough to support the needs of a day or two. The crevices in the cabin can be ventilated, the water droplets that seep in can quench thirst, and even if the cabin door is not opened, the ants inside can hold on for a long time.
It's just that, because of such an order, the protagonist can't grasp the damage in the other cabins, so he can only pray!
Inside, the inside had been cleaned, the cargo had been put back in place, and the spilled honeydew had been licked clean. However, the effects of the previous storm can still be seen, and the goods are now just rough stacks, with mysterious balls mixed with plant seeds, and empty clay pots buried inside.
The protagonist also ignored it, now is not the time to find faults, and when it should be simple, it must be simplified because of the ugly.
The ant silk bed he slept on had been thrown aside because it was glued to the honeydew and could not be cleaned up, and the protagonist could only be grieved for one night, huddled in a pit at the bottom of the walnut boat, shrunk up, and lay on the hard and cold walnut shell, trying to make himself sleep.
Tomorrow is sure to be busy, and after a natural disaster, there is so much work to be done that the protagonist has to force himself to fall asleep.
- I'm the dividing line -
Fear, fear, boundless fear gripped the protagonist's body and mind.
On all sides, there was an endless black tide, surging from all directions.
The protagonist doesn't know why he is standing on a snowy field, unarmed, his copper mace is gone, his mounts Xiaoqing II and Tempeste are gone, and his subordinates are all gone. Only you are alone in the face of the black tide that is about to drown you?
This must be a dream, the protagonist recalls that he is obviously in the cabin of the walnut ship, his own Praetorian Guard team is next door, and Tempest and Xiaoqing II go to the swamp with the troops on the road and the first fleet respectively.
This must be a dream, to be in a strange snowy field! Don't be afraid, this is a dream, a dream that will wake up no matter how terrifying it is, a dream that will not hurt!
But the protagonist still only dares to look around secretly, knowing that it is a dream, but the rapid oppression of the Kuroshio still makes him feel lonely, fearful, and suffocating like a tsunami.
The black tide was approaching, and it was all black and hideous heads, and the heads of ants without bodies. There are destroyers, there are big-headed ants, there are paving ants, there are hunting sickle ants, there are black-headed sour ants, and there are Japanese black brown ants.
They don't have bodies, just heads, blackened heads, even the heads of the big-headed ants that should be yellow are black, and some of them have distorted parasitic lids and stalks in their compound eyes and mouths.
The heads crowded together, biting at each other, hovering above the snow, with the lonely protagonist as the center, all rushed in unison.
The protagonist knows that it is a dream, but he still falls on the ground in fear, covering his compound eyes with his forelimbs, as if he can escape the dream and wake up.
Obviously there is no tentacle contact, but the protagonist's tentacles seem to receive a noisy sound coming from all directions, which is a spell-like voice from the mouths of countless surging ants in the black tide, singing chaotically over and over again in Chinese with correct words.
They seem to say, "The protagonist... protagonist", but the pronunciation is somewhat varied, the "main" seems to be yin-ping, and the "horn" seems to be yangping.
Why do they say "protagonist"? Or is it "pig absolute"? Is this a scene? Is My Dream a Movie? And the protagonist, is there a supporting role?
The protagonist doesn't figure it out, but countless ant heads have already surged over, covering him, flapping, and drowning him like real waves.
The protagonist howls loudly in pain, and countless large jaws are tearing at his whole body, the antennae, compound eyes, limbs, and body are all being torn, and countless parasites pierce his compound eyes, burrow into his mouth, penetrate the cracks in his carapace, and then into his internal organs.
The intense pain from the inside out made him cry out in pain, this was not a dream! No dream is so painful!
"The main character... The main character..."
"Pigs... Pig absolute..."
The cacophony of magic sounds exacerbates this pain even more, and at this moment, the protagonist seems to have been tortured at the same time, such as car cracking, beheading, beheading, Ling Chi and insect devouring, and he wants to die immediately!
- I'm the dividing line -
The protagonist wakes up trembling and groping around, the familiar cabin, and then slowly calms down.
It was really a dream just now, an incomparably real dream, even the pain was so realistic, and it was not weakened in the slightest.
Why is there such a painful dream, the protagonist feels wet, obviously his body does not sweat, it is still wet, and there is a real pain in the abdomen.
Why does it really hurt? The protagonist touches his abdomen with his arthropods, and the viscous liquid is rubbed on his hands. Smell it close to the tentacles, it is a faint smell of blood.
I'm really hurt! The protagonist is startled and carefully examines his body in the dark, and finds that there is a trace of blood flowing from the vents of the abdomen, mixed with the humid air in the cabin, to have that wet feeling.
