Chapter 5: Sure enough, the king needs knights

After dinner, Hillman sat down at his table and began to take about the affairs of the king, which he would probably be so busy.

And Chu just stood by her side, silent.

When I looked out the window when I had nothing to do, the stars and moon in the clouds reflected the lights in the royal city, illuminating the slightly deserted night, which was a little cold and a little moving.

She couldn't remember how long it had been since she had seen such a view, in the Apostolic Wasteland, she could only see the dim sky that would never change and the corpses lying on the ground.

Time passed in silence, and the only sound in the room was the sound of the wind outside the window, the tip of Hillman's pen scratching on the paper.

For ordinary people, it was a period of time, but for Chu, it suddenly made her a little confused.

The Apostolic Wasteland had made her accustomed to always on her guard, killing every person or creature she saw, enduring the scars on her body, hiding in cold corners, and spending night after night of killing and surviving.

Such a dull and peaceful time made her a little unsure of what she should do.

I don't know how long it has been, it could be an hour, it could be two hours.

"At the beginning, I'm a little cold, can you close the window?"

It must be late at night, and the wind outside the window is starting to get stronger, Hillman pulled the cloak draped over his shoulders and said to Hatsu.

"Hmm. Hatsu stretched out his hand and closed the half-open window.

Hillman glanced at a clock on the table, and she had a very regular routine, with a clear distinction between when to start dinner, when to work, and when to rest.

Putting down the pen in her hand, Hillman sat down at the table and moved her somewhat stiff body, now she should rest.

She turned her head and looked at Chu to the side, with some special look in her eyes.

The complexity in her heart just now, she felt through the contract.

Who would have thought that this girl, who looked a little thin, was burdened with such a fate, maybe this was the same as the scar on her face, which should not have fallen on her.

Hillman doesn't care about that, though.

"Chu. She spoke, "From now on, you will be my guard knight for the time being, and you will only be responsible for my personal safety. As for the rest of the tasks, I'll let you know when needed. ”

Guardian Knight······

To be honest, Chu is not good at protecting people, and she is better at killing people in comparison. But she still bowed her head and said respectfully.

"Yes. ”

"As for your weapons and armor, I'll have someone send them tomorrow. Hillman glanced at Hatsu's body, and as a guard knight, that black robe was not enough.

"Your Majesty. Chu lowered his head and said, "You don't need to bother preparing armor and weapons. ”

"Oh?" Hillman was surprised.

The next moment, the person standing in front of her changed.

The black robe draped on Hatsu's body suddenly dispersed, turning into a cloud of black mist that wrapped Chu's body inside, and the black mist surged, faintly revealing the figure inside, and the mist seemed to form something to cover the top of the figure.

After a few seconds, the fog slowly dissipated in Hillman's eyes, and the first person standing there completely changed.

On her body, the original robe turned into a black knight's armor, a deep black, as if any light that fell on it would be absorbed.

The style of the knight's armor is very special, covering the entire body of Hatsu inside, and even the joints are connected to the armor pieces. The helmet enveloped her entire head, revealing only a pair of black and white eyes in the shadows.

The heavy armor didn't make her look bulky at first, but rather made her look much taller and taller, with the charm of cold steel.

Hatsu's hands were staggered in front of him, resting lightly on the hilt of a two-handed knight's sword. This sword is also something condensed from that black mist along with the armor on her body, and it looks like a large knight's sword, but the whole body is black, tucked into the scabbard, making it impossible to see its sharpness.

Standing in front of Hillman with a long sword and armor, he looked like a real knight.

"Your Majesty. The first voice under the armor asked, "Are you still satisfied?"

Hillman came back to his senses, chuckled, and said.

"Very nice. ”

I have to admit that Chu is a worry-free subordinate.

Hillman glanced at the time on the table again, stood up, unfastened the cloak from his shoulders, and hung it on the hanger next to the table.

"Alright, Miss Knight, now I need to rest. ”

It's time for her to go to bed.

"Yes. Chu bowed slightly: "Good night, Your Majesty." ”

"And what about you?" Hillman turned to Hatsu.

With the current status, there is nowhere else to go, so I can only stay in this room for the time being.

"I'll be waiting for you to wake up here. ”

As he spoke, Chu lowered his head and took a step back, retreated into a shadow under the corner, and closed his eyes. Just as she doesn't need to eat, she doesn't need rest and sleep.

"That's it. Hillman said lightly, turning off the lights in the room.

The lights dimmed, but Hillman's gaze remained on Hatsu.

In the dark room, Chu stood quietly in black armor, like a sculpture, cold and lonely.

The contract made Hillman clearly feel the strong sense of loneliness and deep numbness that enveloped Hatsu.

······

Looking at her, or rather, or rather, Hillman was silent for a moment.

After the silence, Hillman called Hatsu's name, "Hatsu." ”

A pair of eyes opened under the armor, without any emotion in them, and looked at Hillman and asked.

"Your Majesty, is there anything else?"

"You're going to rest with me tonight. ”

Hillman said, turning back to her room, where she shouldn't have a problem sleeping two people.

"Your Majesty, I do not need rest as an apostle. Hatsu's voice came from behind her.

Hillman didn't look back, just said lightly.

"It's an order. ”
