Part 1 Promise 6 Prophecy Under the Stars
6 Prophecy
After the Djinn Crisis broke out, countless people asked the same question countless times: "Where did the djinn come from?" "They appeared out of nowhere, and there is no record of such creatures in history. But slowly, people gave up thinking about this problem, and the djinn who did not leave a living mouth was to exterminate the human race, no matter where they came from, they were going to kill all the humans, and all humans could do at this time was to kill the djinn or wait for death.
Now that humanity has established victory in the war, there will be no danger of extinction. With more than 100,000 djinns appearing in all over the place, and more than 99,000 djinns have been wiped out in three years, someone is finally starting to refocus on the question that was raised at the beginning. The Emperor sent scholars and court mages from all fields to delve deep into the reclaimed territory to search the scorched earth for clues related to the djinn, hoping for answers.
This is also a question that Milo pondered and pondered several times after the long line. As early as more than two years ago, when he and his comrades lurked in the Djinn occupation area together, constantly cursing fate and trembling all day long, he also cried out this question in his heart countless times. But now, Domi, who is known as the most accurate soothsayer, replied to him: "If one day, the star you always look up to wants to kill you, what will you do?" ”
Hearing this, Milo did not show any reaction. In his opinion, this was clearly a highly suggestive and ambiguous answer from the soothsayer, and he needed to find a reasonable explanation. Milo is a soldier and doesn't like to go around in circles, preferring to communicate straight to the point. But at this time, Domi's body exudes a mysterious, even somewhat strange aura that bewilders him - the person he has never met suddenly called his name, and sees through the doubts in his heart, in addition to the fact that the fortune teller is indeed worthy of his reputation, Domi's answer does not answer "where does the djinn come from", and kicks the ball back to himself, asking himself "how to deal with it".
Melo decided to answer Domi in a safe way: "I will find the star and stop it from killing me in every way." There is nothing special about this answer, after all, the stars are not human and cannot be killed by Milo, so he has to express it in a way like "interrupt the pursuit", and he can't say stupid things like "kill the stars".
Melo waits for Domi's response, while Domi looks around at the soldiers around him - they are all talking about the divination they just heard, looking to the future or complaining about fate. Suddenly, he closed his eyes, and soon opened them again, still in a calm voice, and said to Milo word by word: "The crisis is not over yet! ”
This sentence is not a response, nor is it an answer.
"Djinn?" Milo is still very sensitive to the word "crisis", and he also gives up thinking and detours, ignoring the soothsayer's tricks, and wants to ask something directly. Crisis? What crisis? Humanity is now facing the threat of djinn, and two years ago it was in jeopardy. Is there a new crisis? So what? How do I cancel it? …… When you start thinking about these questions, you are being led by the nose by the soothsayer. The upright Milo didn't fall into this strange circle, and simply asked directly, saving time and effort.
Of course, the soothsayer will not answer directly, and this is also a "natural" thing. Almost ignoring Milo's rhetorical question, Domi said, "Soon you will meet a very important woman in your life, and many faithful and reliable companions. Please cherish them. ”
It was a non-answer, and if the average person heard it, he would have been furious, but Milo laughed, because the answer was in line with his expectations—that the important woman in life, the reliable companion, would be something to be happy about. Regardless of whether this response was aimed at the previous question or not, Milo had indescribable joy and satisfaction in his heart.
"There are a few more things I'll tell you tomorrow morning." Domi bowed to herself, indicating that she had finished speaking, and closed her eyes again.
Milo also stood up in a familiar manner, thanked Domi, and before turning to leave, he stared at Domi for a long time, reminiscing about the conversation between the two of them—stars, crises...... These uncanny contents disturbed Milo's mind like a whirlpool, and the rest was confusing except for the final prophecy, which could be seen as comfort. After arranging her night's work, Milo walked straight to her sleeping bag, ignoring other people's inquiries and just wanting to fall asleep as quickly as possible. Before lying down, he looked at the starry sky again—the vast river of stars pouring down from the deep blue sky like a silver ribbon, shining like countless diamonds, and began to hypnotize him.
Such a beautiful star that wants to kill us?
With a hint of confusion, Milo fell asleep. The others fell asleep one after another, and the camp that had once been full of laughter suddenly became surprisingly quiet, and the campfire burned out its last rays of light, and silence enveloped the entire land.
When Milo and the others woke up again, they all did the same thing: they worked hard to clean the sand from their bodies. In the middle of the night, the sandstorm hit mercilessly, and suddenly the wind roared, the sand and stones danced wildly, and the sky and the earth were in chaos. The yellow sand gradually covered the sleeping soldiers, burrowing into their cuffs and collars, devouring and tearing at the soldiers' shattered dreams. Domi was not spared, and his excellent divination could not withstand the sudden attack of the sandstorm, which made him as embarrassed as everyone else.
"It can't be pulled out at the moment." Charlie said to Hans and Milo, "Traveling in this weather is just a waste of physical strength and a loss of morale. "Agreed." Hans responded, and Milo nodded in support. "Okay," Charlie prepares to convey the order to the other soldiers—
"What's that?" Charlie pointed to the outskirts of the camp.
In the dark night, the sandstorm blew the surroundings grayish, and I saw a few black shadows not far from the camp, looming in the sand and dust, and seemed to be moving slowly.
Charlie felt a little frightened and didn't know what to do next. "People?" Hans didn't flinch, "I'll go and see, don't be your own people who are lost." With that, he walked over. Visibility was so low in the sandstorm that Hans soon became a dark shadow, with only vague outlines visible. "Ahh Milo immediately confirmed that there were no enemies around, and Charlie and the other soldiers quickly arrived, but Hans, who was lying down, suddenly stood up, "I'm fine, I'm okay!" Hans shouted to the people around him. I don't know what I tripped up, there's no one here. He looked down on the ground for something that had tripped him, and Charlie hurried to search for the mysterious dark shadows around him, but neither of them found anything.
"Evil man," Hans felt strange, seeing that his men were concerned about his safety, but he bombarded the soldiers back indifferently, "all go back, go back, I'm fine, I'm fine!" ”
"Did you read it wrong?" Mello asked Charlie, who shrugged his shoulders and was noncommittal. At this moment, Domi walked over, and the soldier next to him was about to ask, but he only said as if he was a prophet: "Don't worry about it." "It got everyone in the fog, but nothing suspicious happened again.
It was earlier than everyone expected, and at dawn, the sandstorm ended, and all three teams of soldiers immediately packed up their equipment and prepared to move. Hanster went to the place where he stumbled at night to look for clues, but still found nothing, and even the footprints of everyone were swept away by the dust, so he had no choice but to give up. The refugees also packed their bags and were going westward, in the opposite direction of the army. Domi thanked the soldiers, especially Captain Hans for his generous attention. "Where are you going next?" Hans asked enthusiastically.
"Misty Jungle." Domi's answer was short, but surprisingly startling, and the soldiers grimaced.
"No one can get out of the misty jungle when they go in, and the same goes for birds and beasts." Hans kindly reminded that in fact, everyone present knew what he said.
"Don't worry, we're just walking around the edge of the jungle." Domi added in time.
"Be careful, too, it's still the Empire's place of exile for felons." Milo also reminded her, and everyone knew this very well. He suddenly remembered that Domi had said something last night and had something to say to him this morning, but at this point he didn't care, but—
"Thank you...... Aren't you curious what I'm going to say to you this morning? For example, you are about to become a felon? Domi, the soothsayer, suddenly spoke to Milo in a serious and terrifying tone, which really surprised the soldiers, especially Milo. But what he said next was like a bolt from the blue:
"I already foresee you being sent to the Misty Jungle, Milo Entekman."
