Part 6 Project Stars 36 Two Little Stars + Epilogue

36 Two little stars

At 8:00 p.m. on August 13, 2103, Miller turned off the Minerva's centrifugal power, and the massive air once again stopped spinning.

They had planned to go on the road quietly without affecting the normal life of others, and chose this time when most people were resting, but the entire space station suddenly fell into a state of weightlessness, which is equivalent to telling everyone what is about to happen.

Fortunately, everyone had already said goodbye to them in advance: most of them were words of gratitude.

Miller, Wang Chen, Mike, and Sevia quietly boarded the tanker shuttle, which was larger than the Owl, and a few minutes later, they reached the Watchman again. It's just the time it takes for the bus to travel for one stop, but it seems like it's been a long time.

Entering the Watchman, Miller used his own authority to make the final adjustments to the Watchman: "AI, reset the DNA permissions, starting today, these three people officially have the control of the space station."

After a brief scan, the AI replied that the control had been changed.

"Now that you have full control over the Watcher, you'll be going through the wormhole when I'm gone, and the rest will ......" Miller didn't continue.

Wang Chen grabbed the commander's hand and shook it for a long time, Mike kept nodding on the side, and both of them seemed to be saying: Please believe us.

"Goodbye." Miller, who didn't say a word more, returned to the chariot shuttle, and Wang Chen clearly saw that there were tears in the eyes of this Russian tough guy. A few minutes later, the shuttle returned to Minerva, meaning it was time for the Watcher to depart.

"From today onwards, your name will be Sevia Warden." Wang Chen said to Saivia.

"Thanks, that's a good name." The clone replied that he would not dismiss the orders of the two humans around him at this time.

"AI, let's start the fire." Wang Chen ordered, "Let's go through the wormhole." The tiny power unit mounted on the corner of the Overwatch space station spewed pale blue flames and dragged the "capsule system" twice its size toward the wormhole.

The members of the Minerva watched from the window as the Watcher slowly crossed the dark universe while the centrifugal power was not yet turned on, praying in their hearts to send their blessings to the Watcher and the people on itβ€”the last hope of mankind.

Wang Chen and Mike also found a window to see the Minerva space station, watched this old friend who had been with each other for nearly four years gradually drift away, and said their final goodbyes to the members above. Maybe he'll see those friends again, but that's a long time later......

Slowly, Minerva became a small bright spot in the black universe, and next to it, was a larger, brighter celestial body, the Sun. In the dark cosmic setting, these two "stars" are like pure eyes to see them off.

"Let's play music." Mike said, with a hint of sadness in his tone.

"AI, play 'Two Little Stars'." Wang Chen looked at the scene outside the window and played this song very appropriately:

……

In the vast sky,

Hanging two little stars,

They will follow me,

Go on an expedition together, go on an expedition.

Little star it for me,

Leaving a final greeting,

May you keep me in your heart.

……

"It's a beautiful song." Sevia smiled in admiration, and he clapped his hands softly to the rhythm of the music.

Wang Chen hummed along with the music, thinking of her again. The day before, Wang Chen had asked the commander for permission to enter her room, and in his sleep recalled the bits and pieces of getting along with her......

……

I asked you in a low voice:

"Will you stay with me all the time?"

You answer, "Yes, my child." ”

……

Before he knew it, tears soaked his eyes.

"If you are about to enter the wormhole, it is recommended to enter the hibernation capsule or survival pod immediately to ensure that you will not hurt yourself at high speed." The AI made a prompt, and Wang Chen and others immediately complied.

……

Lalala......

……

The singing continued, and the three fell into a deep sleep. A satisfied smile appeared on Wang Chen's face.

At 21:14 on August 13, 2103, the Overwatch entered the wormhole and left the solar system.

During the lifetimes of Wang Chen, Mike Carmack, and Sevia Watcher, they never returned to Minerva, let alone Earth. They have entered the "cosmic prison" and will never be able to escape - even if Project Stellar 4.0 succeeds, their fate will not change.

This is the sacrifice that must be made for the continuation of human civilization, and it is also the beginning of the chapter of our story -

We all know where the next stage is.

Epilogue Letter from Mars

At the beginning of January 2104, New Year's greetings from Earth arrived on Minerva, and Gao Jie also received two emails from the communication room, one from Earth's husband and the other from the Mir-2 Mars orbital space station, signed by Sun Yu. Gao Jie somewhat remembered that the name belonged to a colleague and friend of her husband, and that she did work on Mir 2, but they were not familiar with each other, and this Martian letter made Gao Jie very strange.

However, what is even more strange is that Sun Yu sent Gao Jie an encrypted email, and Gao Jie tried various passwords, including the name of the email itself, but it was displayed as an incorrect password and could not be read. This made her wonder if the email was written to the wrong recipient, and she gave up decrypting it and began to read her husband's email.

In her husband's email, she always greeted and cared for her, but at the end of the email, Gao Jie saw such a string of content: "Your good friend Sun Yu asked me to convey her blessings to you: always replace the new peach with the old charm." There is no problem with this sentence alone, but thinking of Sun Yu's previous email, it seems that there is some kind of connection between the two emails.

Gao Jie reopened Sun Yu's email and entered the words "always replace the new peach with the old one" in the password, and this time it showed "the password is correct". Gao Jie suddenly realized that this should be a small ploy designed by Sun Yu on Peace-2, obviously there should be information in the email she sent to Gao Jie that she didn't want others to know, so it was encrypted, and the transmission of the password was done through Gao Jie's husband. And most importantly, sending a message directly from Mir-2 to Minerva can avoid layers of scrutiny from Earth's receiving stations, and it is also impossible for others to easily link the two emails together.

"With all the trouble going into this way, is she worried that the station's communications have been intercepted?" Gao Jie guessed, a little nervous inside, she checked again that the hatch of the room was locked, and closed all the curtains. "Come, let me see what you've written."

Opening the email, Gao Jie began to read:

"Gao Jie, to make a long story short, we have analyzed the records of the black box that show that the ship's crash was caused by the receipt of a message that caused the clone survival capsule to overload and cause an explosion, which came from the Minerva. Please find the person who sent the letter! ”

There are only two sentences, but Gao Jie shuddered. Obviously, the "black box" refers to the clone spacecraft that exploded before, which means that the person who caused the explosion was on the Minerva space station - someone wanted to sabotage the "Star Project"! And there are very few people on the space station who have the authority to send information, and the commander is one of them.

Obviously, the content conveyed by Sun Yu should have been received by the Earth side, but the relevant information has not been received on the Minerva yet, and it is likely that Miller is suspicious. Sun Yu's email was also sent to Gao Jie by avoiding the commander, on the one hand, to make her vigilant, and on the other hand, to hope that she could find a countermeasure and find the mastermind behind the space station - otherwise the fate of all mankind could be ruined.

Gao Jie read Sun Yu's email ten times, trying to memorize it completely, and then she deleted the email completely. At the same time, she began to analyze the clues provided by the limited text in the email-

"Could it be that person......
