Chapter 37: Hidden variables

The rain of long and short battles falls into people's hearts and is often not easy to detect!

Dr. Ishida, a famous professor of energy science in Japan, came to the lecture hall of Binjiang Energy University.

According to the school's arrangement, Ishida's first class was the superposition of quantum.

With 300 students filling the huge lecture hall, Dr. Ishida stepped up to the podium and looked at it with a pair of burning eyes!

In jargon, that's the psychology of audience anticipation!

Ishida smiled slightly, raised her right arm elegantly, and Sakurako Sakai, the assistant teacher, immediately turned on the laser multimedia that played the handouts.

Dr. Ishida started with the certainty of the macrocosm and the randomness of the microcosm, Einstein believed that God does not roll the dice, and the nature of the world must be certain, but other scientists question this view. Albert Einstein, you can't command God to do this and that, there is a difference between the macrocosm and the microcosm.

In the macrocosm, uncertainty does not exist. You won't find real events in the macrocosm, like when we toss a coin, whether it's heads up or tails, it's not actually random.

We think that this event is random because we don't have an accurate understanding of the force of the coin, the angle of force, the flow of air, etc., if we can know these accurate data, then we can accurately calculate the direction of the coin.

In Einstein's words, the reason why we think something is random is because we don't know all the "hidden variables" in it.

Is it true that randomness and probability do not exist in the macroscopic world? Yes, let's take another example, a person walking down the street was crushed to death by a flower pot falling from the upper floor, is this a random event? No, this event was determined from the time of the birth of this person!

Judging from the behavioral data in big data, then we can calculate that someone will eventually raise flowers, will definitely knock off that flower pot at a certain time, and someone will definitely appear in that place at that time and be hit by the flower pot.

But in fact, we can't know all the data, so it's a random event, but the nature of the event is not random, it's just that we can't know all the "hidden variables" involved in the event.

Since there is no such thing as true randomness in the macroscopic world, why is the microscopic world described by quantum mechanics random? How can a microcosm, which is inherently random, be connected to a fully deterministic macrocosm? It is based on this that Einstein always believed that the randomness of quantum mechanics stems from a lack of understanding of "hidden variables".

However, the Bell experiment that appeared later in later generations rejected Einstein's theory countless times. If both the certainty of the macrocosm and the randomness of the microcosm are correct, then there is only one way to combine the two, and that is to describe the uncertainty of the microcosm as a superposition state, in which the particle is always in a superposition state of "both here and there", and when we observe it, it transforms into a definite state in the form of a wave function.

Ishida said vividly and interestingly, and the assistant teacher Sakurako Sakai switched the picture in time with Dr. Ishida's explanation, the vast sky, the dense stars, the quantum structure, the superposition of particles, and the super visual effect, which shocked the hearts of the audience!

Dr. Ishida quoted the scriptures and gushed endlessly, and the one-and-a-half-hour lecture time passed unconsciously in the quiet listening of the audience, and there was no break in the middle of the lecture, and the lecture ended with thunderous applause in the lecture hall!

"Thank you for your fascinated cooperation, okay, now leave fifteen minutes for the students to ask questions, let's discuss the infinite mysteries of the universe together!" Ishida's eyes lit up, looking around, and her forehead was slightly raised.

"Dr. Ishida, I think you're a wise woman with a glow all over your body!" Kong Yooheng, who used "children" as his mantra, stood up and sighed.

"Oh, you're talking about the Buddha, but I'm still very grateful for your compliment, do you have any specific questions?" Ishida smiled and the students in the lecture hall burst into laughter.

"Well, Dr. Ishida, I'd like to ask, is it possible to build a database of behavioral data on hidden variables, and if that data can be built and accurately collected, can we predict the future?" What are you laughing at, when you see a beautiful woman, I can't help but praise it, this is emotional intelligence, understand? Emotional intelligence!

"Well, that's a good question! Hidden variable has always been the direction of the scientific community, it is the law of development of a thing, more in line with Marx's philosophical concept of universal connection, to be precise, the internal force of the law of development is the hidden variable, the modeling and database of hidden variables still need to be supported by each discipline, it is a vast engineering, of course, it also includes the knowledge of prediction, I hope that the student will continue to explore, and work hard to truly achieve a breakthrough in the data of hidden variables! Ishida felt that the student's questions were quite standard.

"Dr. Ishida, is the superposition of particles that are both here and there' against your intentions? How to understand it correctly? A quiet girl stood up and asked, her name was Wang Wenjuan.

"Ah, the superposition of this particle does sound mysterious, but it's science, not against the will, let's put it this way, the moon itself is everywhere in the night sky, and it only appears in your gaze when you look up at it! Let's take another analogy, in this classroom, when I look at you, you are 15 meters in front of me on the left side of my line of sight, and if I don't look at you, you are most likely thousands of miles away, and this is the superposition of particles! Dr. Ishida shrugged at Wang Wenjuan, do you understand?

As soon as the students heard Dr. Ishida's answer, they couldn't help but look at me, I looked at you, I relied on it, this is too mysterious, right, the superposition of particles!

Half an hour into the class, Dean Hoyna came to the lecture hall, where she and the head of the department sat in the last row of the classroom, listening carefully to Professor Ishida's lecture.

Dr. Ishida's exposition of quantum entanglement and superposition is quite wonderful, but of course, there is still a gap between this and Dean Huo's research, especially Dr. Ishida's reply to the students' doubts is not quite in place.

At the end of the question, Dean Huo Yina walked up to the podium, she held the head of the ball, and stood on the podium with Professor Ishida, slightly tall, showing more aura and fairy energy, the beauty was in the same frame, and the judgment was made.

"Students, let us once again thank Professor Ishida with warm applause for his wonderful lecture!" Dean Huo proposed.

Another burst of thunderous applause rang out in the classroom, all right, class!

"Professor Ishida, let's have a light lunch together at noon!" Dean Huo invited.

"Oh, yes! Well, but it's still early, can you take a tour of your facilities before lunch? Ishida raised her wrist and looked, it was just past eleven o'clock.

"It's rare for Professor Ishida to be so elegant, so let's do it, I'll accompany you to visit!" Huo Meinu raised her hand and made a gesture of please.
