The Paris Incident Chapter 31 Anna's Day
The clear night sky is full of stars, and a bright moon passes through several clouds.
Anna leaned on her stomach at the table, her chin propped in her hands, and tilted her head to look out the window.
A cool night breeze blows, accompanied by a faint sweet scent. When Anna opened her eyes again, a blonde angel appeared in front of her.
A flowing dress, crisp white wings, and a circular aperture on the head.
"Ah, is it an angel?" Anna couldn't help but ask.
"Do you have any wishes?" Tian said in a heavenly voice.
"Can any wish come true?"
"Of course!"
"I want lots and lots of desserts!" Anna replied without hesitation.
"Okay."
I saw the angel open his arms, and a golden light sprinkled all around.
There were many, many macarons on Anna's desk, crepes on the floor, almond cakes for books, croissants for combs, chairs for baked briets, apple tarts for beds, and cookies and chocolates everywhere......
"Get up!" Bella shook Anna in her sleep, "It's dawn, wake up."
Anna rubbed her eyes with her hands, yawned long, and then stretched and struggled to open them.
The room was still the same scene as usual. There were no macarons or crepes on the table, no chairs turned into baked briets, and he slept on a normal bed under him.
Anna puffed out her cheeks, as if angry, and looked at her sister aggrievedly.
Bella doesn't know what's wrong with Anna today, she usually wakes her up in the morning, and she doesn't see such a big wake-up gas?
"Hurry up and wash your face, Sister Elena is still waiting for you downstairs!" Bella coaxed Anna to buy her some chocolate doughnuts when she passed by the street in a moment, and then she got up and began to change her clothes.
Breakfast was a glass of milk and two sandwiches. Anna, who didn't see the snacks, was very unhappy and ate them all.
Today is another sunny day, and you can feel the summer heat when you walk down the street.
Even the morning breeze was warm.
Anna followed behind Bella, listening to Elena humming a little song in a happy mood, but she was still thinking about the angel she had met last night.
While passing by the vicinity of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, looking at the solemn roofs of the buildings on the other side of the river, Anna suddenly thought, will the angel lady appear there?
If she prayed with all her heart, maybe the angel's dream would come true.
Realizing that Anna suddenly stopped, Bella and Elena also stopped. They looked back and found the little fellow staring at Notre-Dame Cathedral on the other side of the Seine, drooling from the corners of his mouth.
They couldn't figure out why a Gothic building would make people hungry.
Soon, though, Anna was back on her feet.
As the sun climbs higher and higher, so does the temperature.
Passing by a shopping street, a dessert shop was selling a new, delicious ice cream that looked like a relieving meal, and Anna couldn't help but be drawn to it. So, as an alternative to doughnuts, Anna opted for this dessert that is more suitable for summer.
After another block, two intersections, and a further walk, we reached Madame Roland's salon.
No one else had arrived, except for Madame Roland, who was sitting in the drawing-room with morning tea.
They greeted Madame Roland, and then sat down in their usual places.
Vanessa stepped forward with a teapot, made a cup of black tea for each of them, and then, as customary, brought today's "Paris Morning Post" to Bella, and served Anna a plate of snacks.
Bella picked up today's newspaper and began to browse through the news on it. Elena walked over to Madame Roland with her teacup and talked to her for a while.
Anna finished the ice cream in her hand and took a sip of the black tea on the table. When she saw that today's snack was a madeleine, the frustration of the morning was instantly swept away, and she immediately became very happy.
At this time, she felt that Sister Vanessa was the real angel, and she could catch her preferences every time.
In addition to cleaning the living room every night, Vanessa is also responsible for everyone's daily reception. But most of the time, I don't really have any special work. Others will take the initiative to find her when they are in need.
When there's nothing to do, Vanessa occasionally spends some time with Anna. She is the person who knows Anna the most in the entire salon.
A short time later, Miss Margaret walked in with the rabbi in her arms.
Before Margaret could say hello, the white Persian cat in her arms jumped down with a "plop". Then he jumped on the couch and lay down next to Anna.
Now, Anna and the rabbi have become better friends, thanks to their shared preferences, which we'll get to later.
Anna was also reluctant to give her some of her own snacks, but she seemed to have a penchant for small dried fish more than sweets.
It's no wonder that not everyone has a sweet tooth like Anna, let alone a cat?
After eating a few pieces of shell cake, Anna yawned, then leaned over and lay down next to the rabbi.
By this time, the rabbi had already fallen asleep for a long time.
"I hope I can continue to dream ...... morning," Anna thought, and gradually closed her eyes.
When Anna woke up again, it wasn't yet lunchtime.
But it wasn't an accident, for Monsieur Arouet and Monsieur Montesquieu would always quarrel over something inexplicable, and then they would get louder and louder. Anna had to wake up from her dream.
Not only Anna, but even the rabbi was woken up. It was licking its white paws with its little pink tongue and smearing it on its face.
It's probably washing its face—Anna guessed.
However, the debate between Mr. Aroué and Mr. Montesquieu has long been taken for granted. At first, Madame Roland often ran over to try to persuade her, but in vain.
Once, when Madame Roland saw two old men arguing and panting in their chairs, she asked Vanessa to come over and offered two cups of soothing tea. As a result, the two old men politely thanked each other, took a sip from the teacup, moistened their throats, and then continued their argument.
Monsieur Rousseau would occasionally join them, and the situation would suddenly turn into a big scene of three people talking to each other.
Sometimes Madame Roland felt that the young Monsieur Rousseau was speaking too quickly, and that the two old men could not keep up, and tried to go up and dissuade them. But Monsieur Arouet and Monsieur Montesquieu turned the other finger at her, "How can you do that? Freedom of expression is Monsieur Rousseau's right!" - Mr. Aroué always emphasized.
Lunch is served by Madame Roland's chef and the dishes are chosen by Miss Vanessa, although guests can also make their own special requests. Mrs. Frida, for example, had a soft spot for oysters, while Miss Margaret was particularly fond of kelp.
In addition, the dessert after the meal was basically taken care of by Anna alone. Everyone just eats something symbolically. Because most men don't like sweets, especially the elderly, and some high blood sugar; And several ladies were worried that they would gain weight and affect their figures, so they did not dare to relax their vigilance. Only Anna has no scruples, and in her own words, she has to grow a little longer!
The afternoon time is more leisurely, and everyone is not in the habit of taking a nap. In addition to Anna, of course, there is also the rabbi.
Ever since the rabbi arrived at the salon, the two have been playing all day as if they were in a game, sleeping on the couch whenever they have time.
Elena sometimes wondered if Anna was more able to sleep or if Rabi was more able to sleep.
"Rabbi, of course." Margaret said confidently, "Don't look at it that it sleeps so much during the day, but it doesn't sleep at night~!"
"Oh my God!" Elena was surprised and said, "Anna is !! too."
Finally, regarding the result of the match between Anna and Rabbi, Elena and Margaret said that they could not judge.
Bella is not like the two young ladies who like to join in the fun, nor is she idle, like the two "sleeping gods", but will always have a book in her hand to read.
After the previous trip to the library, she felt more accurately the lack of her knowledge. She felt that she should read more books in order to be able to keep getting closer to the truth of the world. And this point was unanimously agreed by Mr. Diderot.
Monsieur Denis Diderot was another lover of books in the salon. He was about the same age as Monsieur Rousseau, but not as often as he was in the arguments between Arouet and Montesquieu.
Nevertheless, Monsieur Diderot liked to sit and watch their arguments. And I listened to it with relish.
"Actually, you can learn a lot by listening to it once in a while!" He often says that.
Monsieur Diderot was also another person with whom Anna got along well. He had been very curious about how Anna and the rabbi were sleeping, and had asked Anna how she managed to sleep so much every day.
"Why?" Anna would always look at him with a pair of confused eyes.
It turned him into the one who was asked.
I heard that Monsieur Diderot later checked a lot of information, and consulted friends at the University of Paris, and figured out the sleeping rules of felines, but he was still confused about Anna's schedule.
"Isn't it...... Anna is a cat?" Elena made a bold guess.
"No...... Wouldn't it?" Monsieur Diderot's rationality did not allow him to believe in such reckless judgments.
Anna didn't care so much, in her own words, "Sleep when you want!" Or, "Why don't you sleep?"
What a simple and straightforward reason!
