In the traditional sense, carvers mostly refer to stone carvers, nuclear carvers, jade carvers, wood carvers, ivory carvers, etc., using the carving knife as a tool and the material itself as the basis to carry out, design, create, and then complete a piece of exquisite carved artwork.

Engravers generally have a certain theoretical foundation for artistic creation and a certain foundation in painting.

Before carving, they will design the first draft according to the material, shape, color and other factors of the material, and then go to the knife carving according to the final molded sample, which is also the most basic business ability as an engraver.

Take Shoushan stone carving as an example, the color of Shoushan stone is the biggest feature, the shape of Shoushan stone is placed in front of the carver, they will first customize a general work according to the shape, and then customize it according to the color of the stone.

Settle on paper and make a preliminary drawing. Finally, draw it with lines on hand. After all these preparations are completed, the carving begins.

Due to the development of science and technology, a large number of machine carving products have appeared, but machine carving can never replace artificial carving.

All things have spirituality, and the spirituality of carved works is always given by people at the time, so artificially carved works are spiritual.

Buddha carvers, as the name suggests, refer to professional Buddha carvers who carve Buddha statues on stone by hand using the most primitive techniques.

They must not only have the ingenuity and skill of an engraver, but also the perseverance to work in the field all year round.

Their craftsmanship, wonderful hands, one leaf and one Bodhi, one craftsman, shows their superior skills.
