Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-323 is to be kept in a 17m x 17m x 17m concrete control unit at Site-91. Subject is to be confined to a container in the center of the room with a volume of one cubic meter and transparent armor 8.8 cm thick. The container is lined with a one-way insulating plate with an electronic lock installed. The container should be lit from the inside, while a darker environment should be maintained around it to enhance the effect of one-way insulation. The room is to be monitored remotely at all times, and all signs of activity are to be reported.

No personnel are to enter SCP-323's control unit other than to check the integrity of the containment measures. Restraints should be inspected every other week, and any damage should be repaired immediately. All personnel entering SCP-323's control unit are to be accompanied by an armed security guard, and are not to remain for more than forty-five minutes. SCP323 Physical Description:

SCP-323 is the skull of an unknown cervid. Length 55cm, width 27cm, height 31cm. A 35 cm tall antler grows from the left and right sides of SCP-323, with tips spaced apart-323 showing signs of damage caused by outdoor exposure, including corrosion spots, scars, and weathering. The top is discolored and a mandiblebone is missing. The back of the skull has an oval notch that is approximately centered, 25 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 16 cm into the interior. The notch is characteristic of being carved by tools, perhaps caused by stone tools.

SCP-323 has demonstrated the ability to respond to auditory, tactile, and visual stimuli. Test results have shown that SCP-323 has an visual horizon similar to that of other cervids, and responds to visual stimuli up to 50 meters away. The subject's targeting of specific individuals, multiple attempts to breach containment, and violent reactions to speakers of English or French suggest a certain level of intelligence, however this has not been verified.

SCP-323 is capable of a certain degree of locomotion, particularly small movements and vibrations. In most cases, subjects will only move when exposed to different stimuli, such as moving away when touched or rotated by personnel in their containment chamber. SCP-323 has also shown the ability to perform more dramatic movements, such as stabbing individuals around it and repeatedly attempting to breach containment devices.

SCP-323 is capable of exerting an influence within a radius of approximately 15 meters around it. Individuals exposed to this range for approximately one hour or more will develop cannibalistic impulses and violent outbursts, as well as impaired judgment. Approximately 74% of instances will attempt to insert their heads into the gaps in SCP-323's back after reaching this state, and will attempt to keep their mouths uncovered. If the subject is unable to do so, the subject will polish its head in a solid place around it until the subject's head fits the gap in the back of SCP-323, the subject becomes unconscious, or the subject dies. Once an instance has successfully donned SCP-323, the instance is to be classified as SCP-323-1.

Within ten minutes of wearing SCP-323, SCP-323-1 will undergo drastic physical changes. SCP-323-1 will experience rapid loss of fat, hair, and pigment, followed by a broken phalanx at the end of the hand, abnormal tooth growth, and a sudden darkening of the skin as a result of frostbite-like. When SCP-323-1 is unable to obtain enough food, it will attempt to sustain itself in other ways, including reducing movement, distributing existing food, and feeding itself. SCP-323-1 feeds only on humans, and it is speculated that SCP-323-1 can survive by eating other foods, but refuses to do so, even if it has access to it. SCP-323-1 has been reported to occasionally make statements in its Pewa, Portawatomi, Cree, or native language when pursuing other instances. The following audio log was transcribed from the surveillance system following a containment breach on 11/09/06. This event resulted in the death of twelve personnel before containment of SCP-323 could be re-established.
