Chapter 13 The Old House
The old house of the hometown, but the origin is extraordinary, raised a generation of great masters "Heavenly Creation" author Song Yingxing, built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, after hundreds of years of wind and rain, is still intact.
The house was divided into two halves, one of which belonged to the grandparents' family, and the other half was said to have been sold before liberation, and since then another branch of the Song family has lived.
I still remember the unusual appearance of this old house, in the center of which was a large hall, with twelve pillars erected that could only be hugged by adults. According to the old family, this hall can hold twenty-four banquets at a time.
The outer wall of the old house is made of blue bricks, which is made of wood, divided into two rows, east and west, and in the middle is a dark and deep corridor, with exquisite patterns carved on both sides of the corridor, and it is not too much to describe it with carved beams and paintings.
The carving is generally edged by flowers, birds, and cordyceps, and the middle is a vivid and interesting story, which is too young, and the specific stories are not remembered. I only vaguely remember that some sat on the ground to talk, some bowed their hands to greet, and some traveled far away by boat and mount.
The pattern is not only painted, but the clothes are distinct, some are red and green, and some are inlaid with gold edges, which looks shining. It's a pity that it has collapsed now, and it has not been destroyed for three or four hundred years, and finally the living conditions have improved, and there is a new home, no one to take care of it, and it has been eroded by the years little by little.
When I was a child, every time I went back to my hometown, I would be attracted by the stories carved on it, and I watched the past one by one, and that kind of interest could be compared with reading villain books.
The old house is divided into two floors, and there seems to be no stairs in my memory, and ladders are used to go up and down, which are generally used to store various items, and there are also a few rooms for living.
It may be that there is no tall timber, and there is no "pole pile" in the hometown, and after the straw is recovered, it is sometimes stored upstairs.
The second uncle has always had the habit of raising pigeons, his family used to store straw in the attic, a special row of pigeon cages, bamboo and wood, I don't know how many years I have experienced, every morning, the pigeon flies out with a whistle, and flies back with a whistle in the evening.
It is convenient to take water for irrigation in the mountainous areas, there is water in the canal all the year round, and the canal can be filled with farmland by blocking the canal, and it is rare to see disputes because of water sources, and there is no worry about lack of water.
The hometown is different, at that time the water conservancy was not complete enough, the impression of the water source has always been relatively tight, there are often disputes over the water source, sometimes even lead to large-scale fights, in order to solve the problem of insufficient water in the farmland, every household has a water wheel.
The waterwheels in the plains are completely different from those in the mountains, and the mountainous areas take advantage of the continuous use of water sources to save manpower. In the plains, water from low-lying areas is pumped into the farmland by human means.
The old waterwheel, also called the keel car, looks like a keel in sections, and inside is a piece of wood, threaded together with a thick brown rope, with gears at both ends, and the gears are connected by pedals.
When using, one end is stretched into the low-lying pond, and the other end is connected to the ditch or farmland, and the pedal is constantly stepped on, driving the gear to rotate, and under the occlusion of the gear, the wooden board connected by the brown rope rotates rapidly, bringing up pieces of water splash and flowing to the high place.
The plain also has the advantage of the plain, that is, the pond is particularly large, and there are no branches and miscellaneous trees, which is especially suitable for the use of fishing equipment.
"Zhen Net" has a slender pole connected, a rope is installed on the top, choose a water surface, slowly immerse the "Zhen Net", wait for a period of time, slowly pull up the rope, and the fish that strayed into it will be picked up by the net.
Above the attic, there are things such as "water wheels" and "Zhen nets", and of course, many other household utensils.
About the nineties, the county planned to build the Song Yingxing Memorial Hall, formed a team of experts, made a special trip to the old house to see, and wanted to rebuild it at the original site. However, at that time, it had become a ruined wall, and there was little significance in rebuilding, and the memorial hall was finally built in the county seat.
In the 20th century, it was relocated to a memorial hall and a park was built on top of it, making it a good place for citizens to enjoy leisure and entertainment.
Song Yingxing and his "Heavenly Creations" are not only a historical legacy of scientific masterpieces, but also become a kind of culture, the county ** specially set up the Song Yingxing Memorial Hall Management Committee, many people are obsessed with research, about Song Yingxing and "Heavenly Creations" books, there are dozens of versions.
Yaxi Song has always attached great importance to education, and there are not a few people who seek fame and fame, and it reached its peak in the Ming Dynasty.
During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Song Jing who was born in the archway of his hometown, tired officials to three books, was commended by the emperor, and the ancestors were specially sealed for the two generations of books, so there is a door of three books, and the archway village was built with "three generations of books".
Similar to this old mansion there are "Jinshidi" and "Fang Bodi", and the "three generations of Shangshu" first, now most of them only have plaque gatehouses.
Most of the old houses in my hometown are built in the Ming Dynasty, and some are quite intact, for example, the "front of the lobby" next door to my old house, the outer wall is pulled with pig iron, three in and three out, there is a door when there is a hook bar, and now it is quite solid and quite magnificent.
Not long ago, Songbu Town also applied for special funds to repair the old house of the hometown, restoring a lot of the former prosperous style, and a square was built in front of the village, which is antique and particularly meaningful.
