The college is located in the northeast corner of Guilin, just on the edge of the city. Separated by an academy, as if separated by an era, compared with the modern atmosphere outside the gate, outside the east gate is full of fields and barren mountains, silent and slightly depressed.

In the fields and barren mountains, there are farmhouse villages, which are slightly different from the south of the Yangtze River, each village has a lot of people, like a small market town, but the villages are relatively distant from each other, and only one appears after more than ten miles.

Because of geological reasons, there are many hills and little arable land, and there is no green vegetation on the hills, all of them are weeds, especially in autumn and winter, the grass is withered and yellow, and there is no scenery at all, and the cultivated land is scattered, and the crop growth is not as good as that of the south of the Yangtze River.

The red bricks of the rural houses are bare and rarely decorated, some of the low-rise mud rooms are miscellaneous, especially the cattle raised in the farmers' homes are too casual, and livestock manure can be seen everywhere in the villages and roads, which is slightly scattered and not lively, and some are dirty.

On the left side of the east gate, along the high courtyard wall, there is the training ground, there is also a fence to enclose it, isolated from the surrounding countryside, to ensure that it is not visited by the outside world, but also to ensure the safety of weapons, in the middle of a canopy made of steel frame, for the field training provides a barrier.

Entering the east gate, the highway turns from the east-west direction to the north-south direction, passes through the student dormitory area, passes through the weapons teaching and research department, and leads to the teaching building, the trees on both sides are tall, it is estimated that they were planted at the beginning of the establishment of the college, and there are rows of low landscape trees, between the trees, you can see all kinds of flowers from time to time.

The highway isolates the student dormitory area in the west, the student canteen in the east, and the landscape tree wall circulates according to the dormitory, separating the dormitory buildings, each with a flower bed in front of the display, and different scenery can be seen in the four seasons.

The dormitory building is neat and orderly, the size and style are exactly the same, each building has three floors, the two ends are turned into ear rooms, a staircase in the middle turns up, a building is a cadet team, the cadet team is above the cadet brigade, generally according to the professional distinction, the security profession is called the first brigade, the command profession is called the second brigade, and the maintenance profession is called the three brigades.

I belong to the same class as my fellow villagers, in a cadet corps, the same detachment command major, a three-year junior college, the orderly in the battalion headquarters was admitted to the guard major, a two-year secondary school, a year later, there is a fellow villager who was admitted to the ordnance maintenance major, a two-year secondary school, the identity is slightly different from the detachment command and guard, the ordnance maintenance major does not belong to the officer, but the sergeant major, at that time it was called a non-commissioned officer, and the three major teams are therefore also called the non-commissioned officer brigade.

There is a small shop near the artillery teaching and research department and the canteen, which is convenient for the students to buy daily necessities, but the students do not buy daily necessities much, the most is to ask for a few bottles of beer here, a bag or two of peanuts, gather next to the dark place to drink, the northern students are not good for beer, and what they want is generally two pots.

The teaching building stands at the middle gate, sits in the north and faces the south to face the parade ground in front, the high atmosphere, the front is a strip vertical decoration, I can't remember how many floors there are, it is estimated that it will not be less than ten floors, there is no elevator, all the stairs go up and down, all the students, all the majors, and the basic cultural knowledge are taught in this teaching building.
